When life isn't exactly all it should be, a raffle win puts Natalie Jackson in the, perhaps, enviable position of being the winner of a holiday of a lifetime prize - the prize, however, comes with rather too many strings. Entertaining, humorous romantic comedy - nicely written, feel-good fiction. Enjoyable escapism.

I’ve always loved Zoe’s female leads and Natalie is now another I can add to the list. She is such a lovely woman who really is in need of catching a break, after her fiance left her for another woman and now being a single mum, it’s safe to say Natalie is in desperate need of some relaxation and what better way than spending four days in Marrakesh? After winning the holiday during a raffle, Natalie was ready to get her best-friend to join her on a girly holiday, however, there was a mishap whilst drawing the tickets and instead, she finds herself on a romantic getaway with her childhood love/nemesis. The background between Natalie and Will is filled with so much puppy love, until Will crushed young Natalie’s heart during a camping trip. It seems that after that moment, to this day, Natalie still holds a grudge over Will, therefore it may take some time for his obvious charm to kick in and win her over.

Zoe has done it once again with this gorgeous, fun and light-hearted Summer read. She is hands down, as I always say, one of my favourite authors, to the point where I just purchase her books without even reading the blurb – I just know I’m going to love them and I’ve not proven myself wrong as of up to now! I really liked the speediness of the book, as the majority of the book was only in the space of four days, Zoe did a great job of squeezing everything in and what better way to end the book than with a time jump! I was so happy about Natalie and Will’s ending and closed the book feeling very satisfied. Now, to wait for Zoe’s next creation – I can’t wait!

What a hilarious fun read! They should defiantly make this story into a movie I would love that! Had me laughing my butt off the whole book it also had that fun romance trope of enemies to lovers that is just so irresistible to read about! Natalie was an amazing character full of spunk and wit she had me rooting her on by chapter one! This has defiantly became a favorite romantic comedy read for me and I will be checking out this authors other works!!

I really wanted to like this book but sadly didn’t finish it
I didn’t enjoy the style of writing and found that the first chapters just waffled
I loved the idea of the storyline but sadly this one wasn’t for me

A sweet story, and a fun premise, but it needed a more subtle touch. Natalie is down on her luck, starting over with a baby at her mom's house after her fiancé cheats on her. She ends up winning a ticket for a trip with none other than her first love. So, far so good, her problems are relatable and the set up allows for plenty of fun, romantic situations in a second chance romance. But there were too many situations, one after the other; so much that it felt over the top, forced. I realize that humor can vary a lot from person to person, but I found that I was thinking "oh, this is a laugh out loud moment," but I wasn't actually laughing. I was understanding where the funny moments were, but I wasn't feeling them. And then Natalie seemed immature for a grown, professional woman with a baby, so I had a hard time relating to her and rooting for her.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

#AsLuckWouldHaveIt is a second chance at romance for Natalie and Will. High school sweethearts meet again in their 30's and end up posing as honeymooners on a trip they have won.
Zoe May had me laughing ( OK, snorting) out loud at the situations her characters got into! A gentle, no sex please, we're British, kind of book that was a pleasure to read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book in return for an honest opinion. Thanks to #Netgalley and the publisher for tge opportunity!

Lovely feel good story. It was well written and flowed well. Easy to read and hard to put down. Perfect on these summer nights

Natalie is back home, living with her mom, newly single from her ex-fiance and with a baby on the hip. She runs into her first love - who broke her heart at sixteen - at a fundraiser, where she wins a holiday to Morocco with none other than Will, the guy who broke her heart at sixteen and whom she is still clearly pining for. This book was just okay. It just did not have enough substance for me leaving the story a little flat. I felt Natalie, the protagonist, was very childish at times. For example, the fundraiser scene where she sees Will for the first time after several years. She acted like she was sixteen all over again. It was so cringe worthy to the point where I felt quite embarrassed for her. I felt the story at times was a bit melodramatic. There was a scene, approximately three pages long, where they could not get over the fact that they had missed their tour bus. The connection between Natalie and Will was sweet but lacked depth. I did like Will as a character, much more than Natalie, but unfortunately it was not enough to carry the story. I just felt this book was trying too hard to be romantic and funny whilst sincere that it just fell flat.

I had a hard time getting into this book. It was cute in some parts, but other parts fell flat unfortunately.

This is my second book read by Zoe May and to be honest, I don't think that I am a fan of her writing. this just wasn't for me.

I wasn't able to get in to this title, perhaps it just wasn't for me but I re-started it twice in the hopes that I would come around. It was a DNF for me.

This was a lighthearted summer romantic read. I was expecting ‘boy meets girl’ boy loses girl’ boy and girl get back together’. However, there was no twist in the middle like I was expecting. It was well written, and a happy story, but just not the excitement I thought there would be.

A very light summer read.
It kinda reminding me of the movie Notting Hill.
Cute, single mom, second chance romance.

Do you know that thing where the premise of a book sounds *so good* - but then, that basically just means that you're setting yourself up for disappointment? That's kind of what happened with this one, I feel like.
First of all, I probably need the disclaimer that, in general, I don't really tend to like books that are narrated in the first story. Sure, it can be done, but it has to be done brilliantly - and I just didn't feel like that is quite what was done here. I mean, I literally just had to look up what the main character was called again - it's Natalie, by the way. All I really remember of her, is that she spent the first bit of the book kind of obsessed with loving her daughter and disliking Will, to then move on to not really think of her daughter, and obsessing over Will. (For some reason, I did remember his name, and I don't know what that says about either character, but there you have it none the less).
In general, I just felt as if this entire story was a bit forced - from the lying about being married, to the sudden change of hearts and *oh we love each other completely and we'll stay together forever*. The plot felt rushed - which is a pity, because, as I mentioned in the beginning: I really liked the concept!
I can imagine that many people will like this book and the escapism it offers, but I'm afraid it just wasn't really for me...

As Luck Would Have It is the story of Natalie and Will, forced to go on a fake 'honeymoon' with each other after winning a prize in a raffle. Sound a bit familiar? The biggest downside of this book. is that this book follows so closely to The Unhoneymooners and the plot is almost identical. However, the writing is not nearly as tight, making this book pale in comparison. While it is a nice, light summer read, it can't really stand up against the competition.

I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

A fun summer read. The characters were good throughout the story, however it didn't hold my attention. I had no problem putting this book down. I think that means the storyline wasnt exciting enough.

This book was so fun! This was the first book I've read from this author and I really enjoyed it. The story was different from anything I've read recently and really captured my attention. It was so well written and the characters were fantastic.

I just adored this book by Zoe May! It is the perfect lighthearted, contemporary romance. It was a super quick read, in fact, I couldn’t put it down and finished it in one day! It gave off major Sophie Kinsella and Shopaholic vibes, which I’m not complaining about! I loved following the story of two childhood friends (first loves) who reunite for the first time as adults when they win a romantic trip to Marrakech - together! I love a story with a vacation plot, and in this case, I loved reading about Marrakech and feeling like I was really there.
