Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.
This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.

Fun. Informative. Seems to be very interactive and would keep a child entertained. Colorful and fun art.

Although it is difficult to evaluate the electronic ARC of a lift-the-flap book, this STEM book looks excellent, and I know from personal experience that children LOVE lift-the-flap books and information printed in bite-size bits, so I think this book will be a hit.

"Life on Earth: Things that Go" a lift-the-flap and 100 questions answered book written by Heather Alexander is a stimulating and fun read for younger children with brimming imaginations. There are lots of vehicles, bicycles, airplanes, cars, trucks, and everything in between to discover in this engaging book for youngsters.
I enjoyed the book almost as much as my young toddler!
I received this eBook free of charge from Quarto Publishing Group – Wide Eyed Editions via NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. I did not receive any fiscal compensation from either company for this review and the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.

This book is one of these book that you should have in your hands in paper to be able to fully apprecieate it. All the consept of the book is based on tangibility and e-version does not make it possible to experience it. I might really like it in its hard copy, but the e-book is just does not work.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

This is a brightly coloured STEM information book that all will love. By chunking information, it makes it easier to lay a foundation of understanding.

Luckily I've seen other books in this series in real life, for it ain't no walk in the park, reviewing a lift-the-flaps book, when half of it – ie the under-flap lifty-up bits – are by design presented upside down. This entry covers parts of boats, the workings of combustion engines, petrol cars, home-made scooters, maglev trains – in brief, everything a good transport book might. You won't be turning to it hundreds of times, and it remains to be seen how the flap lifty-up format would allow the book to survive in a school library, but these are bright and competent deliverers of factoids for the young.

I have to agree with several of the other reviewers: This book does not work as an e-book. I might really like this book if I could experience it as a lift-the-flaps book. But, with the upside down print and the confusing layout, I I cannot concentrate on the text and illustrations.

This doesn't really work as an ebook... I can see that the physical copy would be a cute colorful book, filled with great information but trying to see how this works as an ebook is a major headache.

Life on Earth: Things That Go is a really fun, educational learning experience. It is not simply a book of information. It is full of question flaps, that you can lift to see the answers. I think interactive books are an amazing way to learn and teach! The takeaway is always higher with interactive learning materials.
Colourful and fun this book is fantastic and I will be on the lookout for any in this series for my kids.
