I appreciate having had an opportunity to read this book in ARC form. The appeal of this particular book was not evident to me, and if I cannot file a generally positive review I prefer to simply advise the publisher to that effect and file no review at all.

Both heartwarming and hilarious, this graphic novel tells the story of four generations of women who find themselves living together.

Single mom Aurélie is relieved to move back in with her grandmother while she looks for a job. Her young daughter Emma is less enthusiastic about moving in with the wrinkly old lady who gives her wet kisses. Just as Aurelie and Emma settle, in Sophie arrives back from Brazil. Sophie is Aurelie's absent mother who left her to be brought up by her grandmother.

As the four women live together there are plenty of moments of hilarity, some with sharp edges as the women navigate the past and the way life is now. At the heart of everything is love and family.

The artwork fits the format of the novel which is really a series of comic strips. The colouring is bright and enhances the humour of the stories. The comics manage to convey the generational differences using wit and humour and in this way any reader will enjoy it.

My only complaint is that I wanted more and so I am hoping there will be few more in this series.

I was sent an eArc of this comic by NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Its ok. I somewhat like this art style. I wish it were longer with more depth to the story & the characters. It seems like almost every page has a different story. I wish we had gotten more depth from it. Hopefully if there is a volume two then it will be more in depth.

I recommend this if you are looking for light hearted, quick comic.

A funny, light and warm-hearted comic about 4 generations of girls who end up in the same house: Nana Marie, the practical mattriach; her air-headed, forever-young (but already 52) daughter Sophie; the level-headed single mom and self-raised (because mama Sophie was off exploring the world) Aurélie, and her little daughter Emma.

A family "dramedy" is never really my cup of tea to begin with, but the art seemed promising and I thought this might be cute. Unfortunately, I was very bored and the humor felt so repetitive. I'd advise passing on this one unless you're a really big fan of the old adult contemporary humor newspaper comics — this reminded me a lot of some of those.

Thank you so much to the publisher for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Mamma Mia! is a cute mix of funny and touching as four generations of women learn to live together under one roof. Aurelie and her daughter, Emma move back in with her grandmother who raised her as she struggles to find a job. Absentee mother and wanderer, Sophie finds her way back home and moves in too. The book is full of short stories that continue much like a daily comic strip to tell a long running story with art that has a newspaper comic look and feel too. The women experience highs and lows as they learn to live and laugh together for a feel good read that I would enjoy much more of. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

This was hilarious! I enjoyed the 4 generations of women under the same roof. It is completely relatable and had me laughing. I would love to continue reading about all 4 of them.

I had such a laugh at the cover that I couldn't resist clicking on the Read Now when I saw this one on Netgalley. Then I read the blurb and knew this book and I just had to be together.

This is a delightful and humorous multi-generational family story. Meet Aurélie who is moving back to her grandmother's place along with her daughter Emma. However, to everyone's surprise (and mine as I didn't expect her to look like that) Aurélie's mom is also back. That poor grandma got all her girls back in one house! What follows are the daily lives of these women and things will get messy and emotional.

Because this one isn't just about laughs and seeing how 4 generations of women live under the same roof, it is also about family, about Aurélie almost never seeing her mom, about being a single mom and trying to find a job/new place, about the grandmother who loves her family but at times is totally rolling her eyes at all the new-fangled technology they are using, it is also about romance as we see the dad of Emma's friend try to flirt (and desperately fail) with Emma's mom. And there is plenty of more. In the beginning you don't always feel the connection between the family, you see little arguments, little things that made people unhappy, but then later on as the girls get used to living together you see them get closer and find each other again. Learn that it is actually quite fun to have this family time again. Finally they have a chance to be closer as they haven't had that all the time.
We see Emma learn all sorts of stuff about her family thanks to this, including her finding a letter from Sophie when she was younger on her thoughts for the future which was just so sweet.

I had a laugh at Sophie, who is actually 52 but still acts like she is 30. :P She keeps bringing in hot young dudes and also flirting with anything young.

And poor grandma who kept being compared to dinosaurs by her great-grandchild.

The art is very nicely done, I do love the character designs, but other things are also terrific.

All in all, I had such a good time reading this one. I was right, it is right up my alley. I would also recommend it to all, and I can't wait for the next volume. Will Aurélie find a job? Will Sophie run off again? Will Aurélie start dating that cute single dad? And will great-grandma survive all this? :P
