Stay is my first read by AJ Alexander, and I have mixed feelings about this particular book, and had to push my way through, even though it was only a novella length story.
In the plus column: Cole and Addison were interesting as a couple, and they had some thought-provoking and past dramas with relationships, that made their trepidation and wariness quite believable.
On the negative side (and this possible comes from being a mature woman who started raising a family from the age of 19): I found Addison to be extremely immature, acting more like an out of control teen, than a young woman in her twenties. The antics of Addison and Heather especially drove me crazy; screaming, alcoholic outbursts, whiny bitchiness, and their overall childish behaviour, was completely frustrating. So, as this appears to be a re-release of a previously written book, why did the author not overhaul the story and amend things that I’m sure have matured in the author’s writing by now.
I will probably read the next in the Odd Jobs series, simply to see what happens with the next couple, but if the dialogue doesn’t improve, that will be it for me.
This was a very sweet story. The characters and plot are very thought out. Will read more from this author in the future. Highly recommend.
Stay by A.J. Alexander is book one in the Odd Jobs Series and tells Cole and Addison's story.
Cole is the born bachelor. He's a free spirit, women come and go and he works as dog walker.
Addison is a teacher with a overbearing father and is out by herslf for the first time in her life. When she meets Cole it's insta attraction at the first sight. Addison, like the goody two shoes she is, is reluctant, but Cole loves a good challenge. And a challenge she is.
Stay is a rom/com, witty and fun with characters I easily could connect with. I liked the writing and the story and give 4,5 stars.

I honestly didn't like this book a whole lot. The mina characters (to me) were unlikeable. Especially Cole.
Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was not what I expected. I thought this would be a sweet story of conquest between two polar opposites and this was not it at all. From the beginning all Cole thinks about is fucking and when he sees Addy he forces a kiss on her without consent. When she rejects him when she finds out he's the dog walker he acts mean and calls her a bitch. Just not my kind of romance.
