‘Who did you tell’ is a book that will appeal to readers of the grip lit genre. It was an enjoyable easy read, and I eagerly anticipated delving a little further into it each day. The story unfolds quite gradually, featuring Astrid, a young woman on the road to recovery from alcoholism and the end of a significant and complex relationship. She finds herself the victim of some pretty sinister stalking.

Elements of the story were a little predictable (I assume to maximise mass appeal) but twists did feature and caught me unawares I’m pleased to report!

I’d give 4.5 stars if I could and definitely wouldn’t hesitate to seek out Lesley Kara’s’ next novel.

I noted a very subtle reference to ‘The Rumour’, Lesley’s previous novel which I loved. As someone who reads a lot I appreciated the little reminder of Lesley Kara’s previous work. This subtle little link between the 2 novels really helps strengthen my impression of the author.

I half enjoyed this book. There were two twists - one of which I predicted, the other surprised me. I found this one really easy to read, and it read it in almost one day. I liked the characters and found them enjoyable to read about. I felt very sorry for the main character. There was a lot of suspense and it really kept me intrigued. That’s why I was so disappointed when I predicted the first twist several chapters before it happened. I also found it a bit uneventful, and was hoping for something big to happen. I haven’t yet read Lesley Kara’s other book, The Rumour, but I’m definitely hoping to read it soon!

This was the second book I have read by this author and it didn’t disappoint! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. When it read it you expect things to happen with all the twists, however not all happen as yuh think and I think that the surprise element in the novel! Looking forward to reading more of her books.

This is a book that keeps you guessing. You may think you've sussed the plot, but there are plenty of red herrings. It's well paced and suspenseful.

Lesley Kara is quickly becoming one of my favorite, go-to authors for a quick domestic suspense. Her books remind me a lot of Liane Moriarty, another favorite. Maybe we will see Kara's novels turned into mini series too!

A popular theme with suspense stories lately is recovering alcoholic women. This of course makes them unreliable narrators, with hidden secrets. Astrid, the main character in Who Did You Tell is no different, yet I was still engaged enough with her story to continue on to see exactly what kind of skeletons are in her closet. This is a good read at four stars.

I read and enjoyed Kara's previous book, The Rumour. It was a lovely surprise actually, and I thought this one also delivered in terms of what I was expecting.
It had a good pace, some good little twists. There were some red herrings, but overall I really enjoyed it and felt tense. Good plot, good twist.
I would recommend it.

This is an interesting read, with psychological tension and descriptions of gritty life experiences. It was hard to like Astrid - the "heroine" of this novel - at first, but to her credit she's trying to turn her life around and is a character so I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt, and am glad I persevered.

There are red herrings aplenty, and just when you think you've sussed the plot, you realise you haven't.

Wasn't a bad read, was quite difficult to warm to the charecters if I'm honest, but did keep me interested from beginning to the end and I felt was wrapped up nicely

Astrid is a recovering addict that moves home to battle her demons. She becomes paranoid that someone is following her and in comes the twists and turns. Good read that kept me interested.

Not my cup of tea. I found the story depressing and couldn't care about the MC even if the book is well written and the characters fleshed out.

Who did you tell is a thriller that unfolds in a small seaside town. Astrid is a recovering alcoholic who is not only battling with her addiction, but is also struggling to confront and process actions from her past. Astrid’s mum has taken her in and she is attending local AA meetings. Through that, she has met new friends but are they all as supportive as they seem?

I enjoyed this book and the storyline kept me interested, but the ending left me feeling dissatisfied. Everything was wrapped up too quickly, exonerating Astrid from most of her perceived wrongdoings.

Really enjoyed this book. Great characters who developed well and a brilliant love story that wove it’s way throughout.

Loved this it was definitely a book I would choose to read and it didn’t disappoint another author to add to my list.....the characters were believable if you are thinking of reading this book I would definitely recommend it...

This was quite a difficult book to read at times as Astrid led such a self destroying life, she was a frustrating and unlikeable character. I felt that it took quite a while for anything to happen apart from Astrid becoming more annoying and continuing to see life as something negative and disruptive and those around her as irritating intrusions, which included her mother.. This storyline felt a bit similar to other books I have read, the main character returning home, often to a small seaside town, their past life and hidden secrets following them in mystifying ways and also with a heroine that you really didn't like. I was hoping for something different.

Astrid is a 32-year-old recovering alcoholic. After losing everything in London and after the death of her ex-boyfriend Simon she returns to the small seaside town of Flintstead. Where her mother has paid for rehab and she now attend AA meetings. She struggles with the guilt of his death and with the memories of her drinking and the days with Simon. She wants to make amends on what she has done in the past, but, her mother thinks that she will soon go back to her old ways. She tries hard to prove her wrong. When suddenly strange things start to happen. She finds a secret note and she thinks she sees a ghost of Simon and she can smell the distinctive aftershave he used to wear.
Is someone try to make her paranoid and push her over the edge? Or is she just imagining it?

This is my first book I have read of Lesley Kara but, I have heard great things about her, so I was excited to get a copy of this book. Alcoholism is a hard subject to portray but the author has written with an expert eye and also written a great addictive thriller. I highly recommend.

This was an absorbing thriller although challenging to read at times due to the fact that the main character is a recovering alcoholic who is trying to rebuild her life after hitting rock bottom. By the end of the novel the main character (Astrid) had completely turned my opinion of her around. A very cleverly written plot!

This suspenseful and thrilling book is about Astrid who is a recovering alcoholic that has had to move back in with her mother in a small and nosy seaside town.

She has some secrets it seems and maybe she isn’t the only one who knows about them. This book will keep you guessing with the many twists and turns.

It’s well worth the read and I wonder if you can figure out what’s really going on before I did?

Sad,depressing story with lots of twists and the hint of a happy ending.Not my mind of story couldn't sympathise with the main character.

4-5 stars. I truly enjoyed this book, while alcoholism is a common theme among thrillers, I thought this was done so differently by going into recovery! I thought it was well written, riveting, and shocking! Became a fan of Kara after The Rumor and only made me a bigger one reading this! A must read for those who enjoy a well written psychological thriller!

We follow her journey as she struggles to deal with the death of her ex-boyfriend, Simon, and blames herself for his death. Astrid appears to be doing well until odd things start to happen, she feels she is being followed and notes start arriving. Overall a very easy and enjoyable read despite the harder subject matter so I would recommend it.
