This was my first time reading a book by Teresa Driscoll. I really enjoyed this book! While I had my guesses about the ending, I was actually wrong! Loved the character development and storyline. Will be looking forward to her next book! Make sure to check out "I Will Make You Pay" as soon as it's available! Thank you Netgalley for this ARC!

I Will Make You Pay is an engaging and suspenseful psychological thriller that will keep you guessing. Did I figure it all out before the ending? No, but it was sure was fun trying.

This is the third outing for Detective Matthew Hill, and this time he is on assignment to protect Alice from a stalker who has contacted her through the paper. It's a few years on since we last met Matthew and he and Sally are now married, with little Amelie to round off their family. It's lovely to see how the characters have changed over time, including Melanie Sanders, the DI who used to work so closely to Matthew. I do feel that the character development of these protagonists all happened in the intervening years, and we don't see a lot of growth of them throughout the book, which is a bit of a shame. The story focuses on two narratives, on the one you have Alice, whose life is not necessarily an open book, the other on "him" whose traumatic childhood is at the heart of what is to come.
I thought the plot was clever, and kept you on your toes. I didn't guess most of the twists, and there were definitely "ooh" moments there. It was a really enjoyable read and I'll look forward to the next outing for Matthew Hill.

Teresa Driscoll is a new author (to me) and I was intrigued by the premise of this book as soon as I heard of its proposed release. Prank phone calls are indeed unpleasant and menacing, but this book elevates their magnitude in terms of fear, sending it off the scale.
I Will Make You Pay is a ticking time bomb of sheer dread; Driscoll cleverly hooks you in from the beginning with Alice, her extremely likeable protagonist before taking you on a rollercoaster ride at a galloping pace. She utilises short sharp chapters to maintain tension and her pacy writing style keeps the pages turning,
I found this book to be highly claustrophobic and quietly terrifying; I even dreamt about it. Everyone is a suspect; no one is to be trusted. I was kept guessing throughout and genuinely had no idea of the outcome until the shocking climax.
I Will Make You Pay is dark, disturbing and utterly compelling; I defy anyone to read this book and not be impressed.

I really I enjoyed this book. It was very well written and I was gripped from the start. I was a little disappointed by the ending, but not enough to stop me recommending it

I really want to enjoy this author. I really feel like her writing isn’t getting better. It’s not smooth and the ends always falls flat. This was an average book and I do believe my last Teresa Driscoll book.

I enjoyed her last book but found this one not as good. Ok but nothing special. Too many like it in the market. It was well written and had a few surprises . I would definitely read her next offering. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.

I Will Make You Pay is a riveting psychological thriller. The characters are complex and well fleshed out.
The story takes you on a ride that the reader has no idea where it is going. There are quite a few twists and turns to keep things fresh. The ending blew my mind . A great creepy read.

Alice, a journalist, has a stalker. Every Wednesday she receives a note, phone call or other treat from an unknown person who wants to bring her harm. Who is the stalker ? And why are they targeting Alice ? The police are called and Alice’s boyfriend hires a private detective, Matthew, as he is convinced the police aren’t doing enough. Will the stalker be found before the treats are turned into reality ?
As well as Alice, in the present day, we also discover some of Alices past via some chapters. In some chapters we are also introduced to a little boy known as ‘Him’. Where does this vulnerable little boy fit into the story and how does his story end ?
I love books written in this style, where we have past and present being told in different chapters. The suspense is gradually built up, until the truth is finally revealed. If you love psychological thrillers this is definitely one to read. There are plenty of twists and a few red herrings to catch you out. A great book that won’t disappoint.
Thank you to Amazon Publishing and NetGalley for a digital copy of this book.

3.5 Stars
This is my 2nd book by this author and I am a fan. This one, while not as good as [book:I Am Watching You|34879754], is rather good. I was suspicious of a few people but never really guessed the culprit. It did drag in some places which is the reason for just the 3.5 stars. I would definitely read more by Teresa though.

I am really liking Teresa Driscoll's works. I think Matthew Hill is nice character that connects her stories. I though the plot and mystery were good. And the wait to see what happens each Wednesday was intense.

This one certainly hit home for me. Being aware of the effects on one’s psyche when someone openly challenges your safety is a horrible experience. Alice’s experience with a stalker who escalates the harassment leads the reader to doubt the characters around Alice. Even the changing viewpoints of the narrative can be confusing, but in a well-written and suspenseful way.
I was a little thrown when the stalker’s identity was revealed because it seems unlikely that his behavior could go unnoticeable for so long. However, sometimes we don’t see any warning signs when we are willing to trust another person.

Teresa Driscoll has done it again with her latest book. She manages to draw you in from the start, plenty of twists and turns, and hard to put down.
Recommended read.

This book was a real page turner, right from the start I was hooked and wanted to read more. I loved how this thriller gave you both sides to the story. It really kept you reading and trying to figure out who is the stalker?
There is many twists and turns in this one! I highly recommend if you like a good thriller.

A page turner wonderfully refreshing in its simplicity and straightforward plot. The characters are realistic and relatable and the twists are well done and timely. It’s what a “textbook” thriller should be and does not disappoint.

This story is told through the perspectives of Alice, Matthew and Him. But, obviously we don't get to know who him is and what his connection is to the story. The beauty of crime mystery books.
Alice has an ordinary life working as a journalist and living with her boyfriend. But, this all changes one Wednesday when she receives a terrifying phone call at work. From that day onwards, every Wednesday something sinister happens to her courtesy of her new stalker.
This story was filled with mystery and tension. A proper detective novel. Clues were given sparingly and most characters introduced had some kind of motive to instill fear into Alice.
Matthew, a private detective was a great character. He really loved his job despite it being dangerous at times. But, the relationship between him and one of his clients was beautiful. It made me smile to see how dedicated he was and thoughtful.
I was kept kept guessing throughout this book, the Him chapters really got my sleuthing skills in gear to no avail though. And I couldn't put the book down towards the end it was just too good to stop.

A regular Wednesday phone call takes a terrifying turn when journalist, Alice, realises that things are getting personal. Each Wednesday the phone rings. Each Wednesday a threat is issued.. Alice has a stalker and soon her family is also in the frame. But why? Told in straightforward, snappy dialogue this is a taut and gripping suspense, fast moving and engaging with a credible cast and not, perhaps, as predictable as you may,at first, think.

This is a suspenseful book about a journalist named Alice Henderson, who receives a threatening call on a Wednesday at work from a distorted voice telling her he would like to use a cheese wire on her. Then, each Wednesday, something different happens until it starts escalating into dangerous territory. Alice has no idea who’s doing this, or why, but it’s clear she needs to take this threat very seriously.
After a slow start, I found myself hooked on this book and the two different timelines it utilizes to tell the story. The suspense builds pretty rampantly, and on top of that, I cared about the characters. BONUS: I didn’t expect the culprit or motive. Great read from an author I really enjoy. I would recommend.
Thank you to NetGalley, author Teresa Driscoll, and Thomas & Mercer for an ARC.

Who is the stalker? A thriller to keep you reading; both sides of the story are given but despite thinking you have got who the stalker is as the story goes on you change your mind. The ending is a surprise. Great book!

Here is a very meaty book with many twists and turns. All I’ll say is prepare for the unexpected and surprises.
