What a page turner, from beginning to end! This is so brilliantly written that I had no idea of the twist right at the end. Loved the way the chapters were set out, with the periods before and now.
The only bit I didn't quite get until after I read the notes at the end was the relationship between Alice and her Mum. It's a shame I didn't pick up on that but it didn't spoil the book for me at all.

This was a great book! It held my attention and I couldn't put it down, It was an easy to follow along story and contained good easy to follow characters. I highly recommend this to anyone and can't wait to read more by this author. Thanks for the opportunity to read and review this.

I received this ARC from Netgalley and it was absolutely amazing. I love the way it went back and forth between three characters and the past and present. I honestly didn't figure out who the bad guy was until I was at 95% and then I was like... OMG. There were great red herrings, but I didn't put it together until the last minute which made if awesome. I couldn't put it down. It was very addicting, waiting to see what was going to happen

After reading so many of this author's other thrillers and adoring each of them, I was disappointed with I Will Make You Pay. The character development was lacking, the pace was extremely slow, and there were loose strands that were never wrapped up. It was a very frustrating read because I wanted to like it some much more than I did.

I will make you Pay is everything you want from a psychological thriller. It’s gripping and tense more or less from the word go, making this an enjoyable and easy read to race through.
The storyline follows Alice, a journalist, who suddenly finds herself the target of an unknown individual determined to make Alice fear for her life.
Whilst Alice has previously had a traumatic relationship with her ex Alex, could her stalker really be him or is this the work of someone else?? Why do all the bad things happen to Alice on a Wednesday??
I think this is cleverly written , portraying Alice who although thrust into a life of fear somehow still comes across as a strong, determined woman. With the police and a private investigator on the case to discover the identity of Alice’s stalker, her life is in free fall, wondering what the stalker will do next. Although fear is a major theme in this novel so to is love. The love between Alice and her mother, who is terminally ill, is apparent throughout, as is Alice’s love for her job and her determination to live her life.
I particularly like the way the narrative switches between Alice’s present and the past of an unnamed boy and his grandmother. Obviously there is a link between the two timelines and I don’t want to reveal too much of the plot line, except to say I think the author again writes eloquently about the love between this boy and his grandmother, as well as the darker side of their lives which is distressing but dealt with by implication rather than explicitness. Love of place also underpins these sections of the novel.
All the strands of this novel are brought together expertly so that when the reveal is delivered, everything makes perfect sense and for me there’s no feeling of incredulity at any stage.
The crime of stalking, the insidious behaviour of these individuals and the terrifying fact this can often escalate into murder is dealt with sensitively and without gratuitous writing. I loved this and highly recommend. My thanks as always to the author and publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a great stalker thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. Alice is a reporter who starts getting stalker type phone calls on Wednesdays. Her boyfriend, Tom, hires Matthew, a former police officer now private detective, to help keep an eye on Alice on Wednesdays. There are lots of very interesting things going on in this story that keeps things moving right along. I did feel that Matthew's 2-year-old daughter had a far too advanced vocabulary. If you are looking for a great stalker thriller, this is it. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this fantastic thriller in exchange for an honest review.

I Will Make You Pay Teresa Driscoll
Every Wednesday, like clockwork, the terror returns. Alice is a journalist, one Wednesday she takes a threatening phone call in work then each Wednesday after that the stalker makes their next move.
I absolutely loved this book! I've read all of Teresa Driscolls books and this is my favourite so far! Great pace that kept me interested the whole way through, right up to its breathtaking end.
This was a 5 star read for me. Thank you @netgalley, Teresa Driscoll and Amazon publishing for the advanced copy of this book.

Quick paced and a quick read. The switching points of view helped build suspense as well as unfold the story. Having the main character be a journalist gives her more credence and reliability. The relationship with her mother adds a touching dimension to her character and to the story and I'm relieved it wasn't tampered with. I'd like to quibble about some of the other characters and their storylines but cannot bring myself to write spoilers even if they are hidden.

Enjoyed this page turner, worth the wait until the ending.
Well written and would like to see what Driscoll has next.

WOW! Now this was what I would call a “Psychological Thriller”! Gripping, well written, captivating and fast paced. Totally creep factor, in my opinion! My first read by Teresa and I am now a HUGE fan. This one had me engrossed from the moment I read the first page. I didn’t want to put it down. I was continually attempting to figure out just who it was, harrassaing Alice.
If you are in search of a well written, overall great read, I highly recommend this one.
HUGE thanks to Teresa and Thomas & Mercer for not only allowing me the opportunity to read this amazing advanced copy, but for introducing me to a new author. Greatly appreciated!

Another great thriller from Teresa Driscoll. This time around I was more confused on who was the bad guy! There were twists I wasn’t expecting.

You will be absolutely shocked at who the bad guy is. This author does an excellent job of throwing you off the trail. Alice is receiving threatening messages only on Wednesdays. By the time she realizes what is happening things have escalated. Her boyfriend Tom, hires a private investigator Matthew to try and find out who is after her. They are led around on a wild goose chase while Alice and her family are terrified the story is full of suspense, twists and turns as you are taken on a thrilling ride to discover who the stalkier is. It is a page turning event to the very end. Brilliantly written!

This was really and enjoyable fast paced reading full of twists and turns. The characters were well developed, the writing was great. .I couldn't put this one down as I tried to figure out what happens next. Thank you to Netgalley and Amazon Publishing UK for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

4 out of 5 stars. A quick read!
Alice is a journalist who starts getting threatening messages every Wednesday. As the stalker begins to escalate, Alice’s boyfriend Tom hires ex-cop, private investigator Matthew Hill to keep her safe. As the messages keep coming, secrets from Alice’s past are revealed. Will they figure out who is behind the threats before Alice’s life is in anymore danger?
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. A very engaging and quick read. Each chapter switched to a different point of view, letting you keep guessing “whodunnit”.
Thank you to Teresa Driscoll, Amazon Publishing UK, and Netgalley for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Wow alot of turns in this book. Keep me guessing till the very end. Was a very easy read with alot of emotion in parts. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes a good mystery

Alice, a journalist, gets a horrifying call on a Wednesday at her office that changes her life. Someone is stalking her and terrorising her on Wednesday of every week. Matthew, a freelance detective, who once was a cop, is hired by Alice's boyfriend, Tom, to be her private bodyguard on the dreadful days. DI Melanie Sanders is heading her case and is trying her best to ensure Alice's safety which is threatened. Alice has to face all her demons and her mother who is in her death bed. The story revolves around the characters facing their pasts which takes the influence of each turn they take.
I was told it was a lengthy read a couple of days before I picked it up. I didn't like the idea because I was not in the mood for a lengthy read. Anyways, I picked it up because the more I read the description, the more I wanted to indulge myself in this book. As a compelling, vivid, chilling and a hell of a suspenseful read, the book lived up to the hype. You know the book rocks when the story begins on the very first sentence! Before I realise, I'm on page 150 and soon, I have reached the end. Whatever the length the book turns out to be if it is interesting and well put. you'll find yourself lost between time and pages.
As an absolute fast-paced page-turner, every page comes with unpredictable twists and keeps you guessing till the very last. Alice's chapters are truly frightening because it makes the reader as afraid as Alice, on what to expect next. I was deeply empathetic for Him chapters. To know the insight of the antagonist is one of the best aspects of psychological thrillers but unlike all others, even in the end, after everything he had done, I just couldn't bring myself to not have empathy for him. I do not think anyone will. Every character, how small their part might've been, are well and fairly constructed. There were a few aspects which I felt, should've been addressed more but as a fellow reader told me, those aspects are left for the reader's imagination. I loved the sense of straightforwardness in Teresa's writing and the vividness it provided! Looking forward to reading more of her works!
In the end, it is an intense read and to know it based on an experience of the author just makes it more creepy and scary! Nevertheless, this turned out to be a good read.
Recommended: Absolutely!

Thanks NetGalley & Amazon Publishing for the ARC of I Will Make You Pay.
Great psychological thriller.
Well written shocker. Page turner that keeps you guessing.
You will stay interested until the very end.
Great read!!!

* I was provided an arc by NetGalley in exchange for a review*
A solid 4.5 stars because this book is what thrillers are made of. I would love to see this made into a movie. It kept me on the edge of my seat, guessing and fearing for Alice, a journalist with her very own stalker.
It was so well done, and I actually enjoyed the time jump chapters allowing us a glimpse into the life of the child who became her worst nightmare. Those were a whole other set of emotions. And I think that’s what this author did best, she provoked such different intense emotions that I’m drained. I also didn’t put the book down. I couldn’t. I had to know who it was that was tormenting Alice.
All I can say is good job, I look forward to reading more by this author.

3-4 stars. This book had the type of writing that really kept me intrigued trying to know what was really going on. Full of twists and turns, chills, and thrills, but just a tad too slow paced for me. Overall I recommend to those who enjoy those books that screw with your mind and heart a bit!
Will make sure to buzz this book up!

A great mystery has the suspense buried "between the lines"-with twists and turns where you least expect it. I Will Make You Pay is a good-but not great thriller-you don't have to dig far to guess who is stalking Alice. The "why" is another matter-it takes most of the novel to uncover a motive-especially the significance of Wednesday as it relates to Alice's tormentor. Alice is a reporter at a small newspaper, but even with her investigative skills at first she does not recognize the threatening phone calls and letters always arrive in the middle of the week. But the devil is in the details, and Alice's stalker knows so much about her it significantly narrows the suspects. Despite this, I Will Make You Pay moves at a crisp pace-mostly because of a skillful use of a "past and present" dual narrative. This is a good thing for Alice, as each week her attacker becomes more personal and brazen. There are several subplots in I Will Make You Pay-the first directly involves Alice and gives the story much needed intrigue, the other is so haunting and heartbreaking it becomes the most compelling part of the story. I Will Make You Pay is a decent and interesting four star mystery. Sometimes "good" is good enough, and having to read between the lines is more of a burden than a plus. That's definitely the case with I Will Make You Pay.
