A fantastic read. Gripping and lots of suspects. I trusted no one when reading this book and felt the fear of the journalist. Well written and sure to be a best seller.

Alice's terror begins with the first line when she picks up a threatening call at her desk. As a journalist she is used to getting strange calls , until the next Wednesday comes around and realization soon hits that she is being targeted. The horror plays out over the chapters alternating between Alice (before and present), Matthew Hill (the hired investigator) and him (the stalker). Unfolding the plot from different points of view led to interesting backstories and scattering of clues-this is where the author excelled. The perspective of the stalker intrigued me and I actually felt more sympathetic towards him then I did Alice (until he became a madman). Although well written the story didn't draw me in, there was never a time when I needed to start the next chapter. What started out strong and frightening soon fizzled. I did enjoy it and thank the publisher and net galley for the opportunity to read it.

"I Will Make You Pay" is a roller coaster thrill ride that is dark and twisted, so get ready for a gripping ride of your life.

I have read other books by Teresa Driscoll and have truly enjoyed them, and now I'm very pleased to say that this one is another great read. I'm definitely looking forward to her next book!

This reads fine. The pacing is fine. You are given good reason to believe the bad guy could be a couple of different people at different points in the novel. Everything's...fine. (Though the overall motivation for this sequence of events, once revealed, seems thin.)

This mystery thriller kept me entertained and on toes! I liked how the story unfolded, with subtle twists and revelations, through multiple points of view. Although at the end it becomes clear that some things were red herrings, I never felt like I was being manipulated as a reader just for a crazy plot twist. I believe that the author’s previous career as a reporter for the BBC adds to her ability to create suspense and terror in a storyline that always seems plausible.

My favorite character was Matthew, the investigator. This was my first read by this author, but it won’t be my last. I enjoyed the writing style and I have also learned that Matthew has appeared in at least one previous book.

I also greatly enjoyed the UK setting as well as the relationships between Alice and her mother and sister. My thanks to the publishers who provided an advance review copy in exchange for an unbiased review.

Right from the first page, “I Will Make You Pay” weaves suspense and mystery themes in a tight web, pulling you into the book. The story is primarily told by Alice, who shares the spotlight with a private detective (Matthew) and the person stalking Alice. There is plenty of time spent allowing readers to get to know these three characters, and we learn their good and bad points as well as the motivations for their actions.

Author Teresa Driscoll drops a few cleverly masked clues throughout the book, giving readers the opportunity to solve the mystery (I missed them). The book mixes the past and the present allowing the storytellers to relate the bits and pieces of their lives as the tale races to the climax. I liked the mix of suspense and thriller aspects and I tried in vain to figure out the identity of the stalker.

Few books have all the elements in place as this one does. Ms. Driscoll has crafted an excellent story, with no contrived or unbelievable scenes. Set aside some time for this one. If you’re like me, you won’t want to put it down until the last page. Five stars.

Sometime last year I remember reading my first book by Teresa and loving it. So when I spotted I Will Make You Pay available for review, I didn't have to think twice. Though it wasn't as thrilling as her previous book, it does manage to keep the reader hooked. This novel brings into surface, every person's worst nightmare. The fear of being stalked and threatened has been shown in a dangerous new light in the author's new book.

Alice is a journalist who leads a seemingly normal life until she receives a threatening call at work. When she shrugs it off as a mistake, she's again caught off-guard by another threatening note. As the days pass by, Alice can't help but wonder that all the warnings come through only on Wednesdays. She very soon hires a private investigator and reaches out to the police to solve the mystery. As she grows increasingly agitated every day and fears stepping out of the house, details of her past float to the surface. Could it be that her ex-fiance is trying to kill her? Or is it just a miffed reader? The stalker is smart and leaves no signs of being discovered.

With the support of her boyfriend Tom, Alice works together with the police. Though the police has couple of suspects, something seems off to her. I was surprised when the stalker was revealed. It truly was a major plot twist and one that I couldn't have imagined. The story is narrated in terms of past and present. One of the aspects that I found interesting was how the stalker's past life has been included in the story. All the doubts about why he turned out to be the way he is, gives a clear picture about his motive. Though I enjoyed the book, I couldn't help but find it quite lengthy. Alice's chapters were filled with similar content about her fear and insecurities. Overall, it made up for a gripping read and if you are looking for a decent mystery, this is it for you.

A decent story about a British reporter, Alice, harassed by a mysterious stalker. Chapters from her viewpoint alternate with those of Matthew, a private investigator, and "Him", the stalker who isn't identified until the last chapter. The characters are nicely rounded people with families. Alice's biggest fear, through all of it, is that the man who means her harm will get to her mother, who is seriously ill in a nursing home.
An underlying theme of a grandmother without resources who is forced into child raising is a devastating look at what is a much too common situation in recent years..

When odd things start happening to journalist Alice on the same day each week, even she can’t imagine just how this story will unfold ... This is the first book I have read by Teresa Driscoll, and I really enjoyed it - not only because it was a UK based thriller, but also because it kept me guessing left, right and centre throughout the story, right up until the very end. Definitely want to read more by this author now!

Someone is stalking Alice and it seems to only be on Wednesdays when anything happens. The book moves very quickly through the rest of the week and then the dreaded Wednesday comes, and it's escalating. Thus begins the story-telling building suspense and rhythm of the lives of both Alice, her family and friends, and her stalkers life from his childhood. It's a good suspenseful tale and many choices of who her stalker could be. I stayed up late to finish because I had to know, and wasn't disappointed in the ending. I stayed up late last night reading this. I really enjoyed the way this book unfolded, switching points of view and periods of time to reveal the bad guy piece by piece, and show things from all angles. I really didn't start to figure this out until nearly the end.

Alice is being stalked, and everyone is a suspect. I actually really relate to this, and almost couldn't read this book, as I'm dealing with harrassment myself from someone I don't know. Anyways, it upped the suspense for me. I was totally into the story- she kept my interest in every page, with lots of seemingly unrelated details, and multiple characters with questionable intentions. I was still surprised with how it unravelled.

Alice is a journalist who is being stalked. Every Wednesday something new and more frightening happens as the stalking escalates. The police and a private investigator are trying find the stalker before he succeeds in harming Alice.

The story is narrated from three perspectives: Alice, the stalking victim; Matthew, the private investigator and Him, the stalker. This gave a unique perspective to how the investigation progressed and into the stalker’s early development. On the whole, I found the book to be a decent read and it did keep me interested in finding out what happened, but there were too many unanswered questions for me to be truly satisfied at its conclusion. There were subplots and situations that were never resolved. If those things aren’t important enough to have some type of resolution, then I question what their purpose served in the storyline to begin with, other than as filler and upping word count.

A great thriller which I read in two sittings and which kept me guessing to the end.
Well written and tense. Some parts make difficult reading due to the subject matter but none of it is gratuitous and I found myself sympathising with both characters for different reasons.

A really well written novel, I Will Make You Pay is a gripping novel with dark elements and unexpected turns that will pull you in from the first page and have you desperate to find out what happens.

Alice is a journalist for her local paper covering a story on a local housing project. It seems like a normal Wednesday when she receives a threatening call at work although it upsets her she doesn’t take it to seriously until the following Wednesday when it becomes very clear that this is all about her. Someone wants her to suffer but why and who?

I enjoyed the return of Matthew Hill the private investigator who is hired by Alices boyfriend Tom to help her with the stalker. Matthew works alongside his old colleague DI Melanie Sanders to try and figure out the stalkers next move.

The relationship between Alice and her mother is beautifully written and really adds to the story making Alice a bit more likeable.

This book was a definite page and I never had the 'bad guy' on my radar as a suspect until the very end. That for me is a GOOD book.
