This was a moving, funny and heart warming memoir about what happens when the author and her husband decide to give up the hustle and bustle of city life and move to a ramshackle farm along with the authors mother who has dementia.
This book deals with the difficult subject of Dementia with both humour and sensitivity and I did find myself both laughing out loud and crying at some of the situations Rusley describes.

Having cared for my own parents, one of whom had Alzheimers, I could recognize some of the things described within this book and was amazed that they took on both the challenged of renovating an old farm stead and looking after a sick elderly relative at the same time. But the love and care that the author obviously felt for her mother shone through on every page.

A very worthwhile read.

So, for me personally, this was a different read and outside of what I normally enjoy. I will say that it did hold my attention all the way through.
