“Reborn” by Ella Clarke was such a sweet, emotional, moving story. The characters and imagery were vivid, and I was spellbound. This was hard to put down. Definitely recommend!

Going to have to DNF this at 22%. 1/5th a way into the book and nothing has happened so far (an it isn't picking up). I'm not sure where the plot is going and the only thing that slightly caught my interest was the brief mention that the dino asteroid was Lucifer being cast out of heaven... but that was a total of one sentence and hasn't been (and probably won't be) revisited.
Too bad... I was hoping this would be a fun read :/

Now THIS was an emotional rollercoaster I didn't want to get off of. Needed MORE back story, as it felt like some things were coming out of the blue and didn't quite fit, but it worked in the end and am dying for book 2!!

Reborn, by Ella Clarke, is the first book in The Guardian Odyssey Series and casts a different light upon the fallen angel trope.

One thing I love about this book is how immersive it is. Ella Clarke doesn’t beat about the bush, she throws you into action and hopes you can handle yourself. As I have mentioned in other reviews, I’m not a patient reader, and I’d rather figure out what happens through action rather than lengthy descriptions. Also, I find that starting the book with an action scene hooks the reader. I mean, it worked for me!

Reborn is almost like a coming of age story where the main character is an angel who has issues with authority and screws up his missions. Going rogue may seem fun at first, but his punishment is harsh. Kendi, our fallen angel, is stripped of all angelic powers and sent on Earth as a human teenager to be someone’s guardian angel. Should he fail, this is the end for him. Needless to say, he hates it!

I began backing away from him. This couldn’t be. I couldn’t even wrap my mind around being a Guardian. I hated it. I hated Earth.

To make his mission even harder, he is linked to his fellow Guardians. Because of him, they are all in danger. He hates that even more!

I don’t want to be responsible for the lives of my fellow Guardian. I haven’t even taken on that responsibility for myself yet. I’m sure you’ve heard about my glowing record.

Meeting Elle (Sarielle), slowly changes the way he views humans and gets to experience feelings he can’t even identify, although he’s been alive for millennia.

I felt bad for her, but I couldn’t identify the source of my remorse. Was it simply because I had such a high stake in whether Xavier lived or died, or was it because I was beginning to care about these humans that I was sentenced to protect.

This book is amazing once i started reading i could not set it down. It has such an amazing story line and characters that just lure you in. A lot of the struggles the main characters goes through i can resonate with. The main character is definitely an underdog who has to overcomes a lot of obstacles. If your looking for a book that you will not be able to stop reading this is that book. Five stars all the way, and already sitting and waiting for a sequel,

This was such an amazing read. I loved every second of this emotional rollercoaster. It's about a Guardian named Kendi who has powers that allow him to protect the human race but he loses those powers and is sent to Earth as a mortal as punishment. He fights and rebels against everything he once knew. You get to witness his struggle and how he has to adjust to being human. Upon first arriving on Earth he still believes himself to be superior to humans but quickly learns a rather painful lesson. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was hard to put down and kept me on my toes with a mixture of friendship, betrayal and an epic battle. I loved that it was told from Kendi's POV and that you got to witness his story through his eyes. A very intriguing story told beautifully. Can't wait to read more and I highly recommend it.

Reborn by Ella Clarke is the first book in The Guardian Odyssey.
Kendi Belling is an immortal, sentenced to become human-ish and living on earth. He's a guardian, thinks highly of himself and humans are simply beneath him. He still believes nobody can touch him and his first encounter on earth teaches him a painful lesson.
I started reading and it took me some time to get into the story, but after a short time I was intrigued.
I enjoyed the storyline and the excellent writing. I liked the characters and I read the book, cover to cover , in one sitting.
Reborn is told in a rare male single pov and I liked it too. I give beautiful 4 Stars.
