Overall this book was good. The start seems quite drawn out though the story itself is good. Perseverance is key when reading this book. Didn't quite get me in the spirit for Christmas so can be read any time of year in my opinion.
After Angie loses her boyfriend and her job, she has no choice but to back to her hometown and nurse her broken heart within the comfort of her childhood home whilst looking for a new job and new life. To keep herself busy Angie finds herself working at the mall that she worked at as a teenager helping Christmas shoppers with any last minute shopping woes they may have. It is here where she meets Nick who she is instantly attracted to but the secrets he chooses to keep may backfire on their relationship.
This book was cute and adorable. I enjoyed the Christmas spirit and loved that it took place in the mall for the majority of the book. Unfortunately, this book harboured two of the tropes that I dislike the most in romance novels: insta-love and fallout due to miscommunication.
Angie and Nick barely knew each other before falling so fast in love and then breaking up just as fast. The break up was depicted with such great anguish you would think these two characters had been together for five odd years. I could feel the spark between the two characters but it was not nearly fleshed out enough for me to believe the magnitude of their love for each other.
All the obstacles that occurred between these two was due to miscommunication. I truly despise this trope and wish it was banned from all romance novels. It portrayed the characters as juvenile and immature making for an eye-roll of story at some parts, which is disappointing because I truly enjoyed the minimal flirt and spark that these two had with each other.
Wrapped Up For Christmas is a charming, feel good, Christmas romance. A book about second chances and family, about serving others, and how sometimes the hardest things in life lead us to the right paths. This was the perfect book to curl up with in front of the fire on a snowy night. It’s a cozy read that will definitely put you in the Christmas spirit! Thank you the the publisher for the free review copy in exchange for my honest review.
Another Christmas win!!!
I love the “moving back home” stories, maybe because I can relate (apart from the finding the love of my life aspect haha.) I think there is something special about where we grew up and sometimes it takes moving away and experiencing life to realize that! I love that this book feels real. The life events and emotions in it are very realistic in my opinion, and this is a story that could very well happen in real life. I felt the characters easy to connect with and relatable. Being set at Christmas time was a bonus because I love Christmas and all of the events and happenings that help one get in the Christmas spirit! Would definitely read this author again!!!
These past few weeks I’ve been in such a festive mood, and this Christmas book did not disappoint! Wrapped up for Christmas follows Nick and Angie, two career driven people that find themselves single during the holiday season. I was so pleasantly surprised to find that this was a book written from both perspectives. I love a romance where you hear both sides of the story.
Angie was such an endearing character. After finding out her boss in California was cheating on her, she moves back home, heartbroken and cynical. She is desperate to get back on the career ladder, but also to make the most of the festive period with her family and best friend (I LOVED that this book prioritised friendship as well as romance). Her charitable nature made the book that bit more cosy and heartwarming, and Hazel’s character was a great addition. The chemistry between Angie and Nick was strong, and I genuinely believed their connection. I flew through this book.
A great start to my December reading!
A cute cozy holiday romance full of holiday Cheer and love. I will read again during the winter. Great story
The story starts with Angie returning to her family in New England after losing her boyfriend, job and apartment in the space of a week. She meets Nick and finds work at the local mall where she worked as a teen.
This is a heartwarming romance about second chances. It's a wonderful seasonal read and plays like a Hallmark movie. I breezed through it and finished it in a matter of hours. Loved it!! I give it 4.5 stars. Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for providing me with the ARC of this book.
This is my first time reading this author, but it won't be the last. This book grabs your interest right at the beginning and holds to the very ens. My kind of book. The story is about two wounded souls who find each at Christmas. This is a clean Hallmark type of book.
I thoroughly enjoyed this Christmas romance. Reading it was like watching a Hallmark movie. The characters were likeable and realistic, it was atmospheric, and overall a very entertaining read.
Many thanks to HQ Digital and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
This was a cute little love story! It was pretty predictable. However, that’s what I love about these Christmas books. 🥰
As the Christmas season nears, I'm all about Christmas novels; the more feel good factor the better.
This story follows Angie who after discovering that her boyfriend (and boss) is dumping her because he actually has a fiancee, quits her job and moves back to her hometown. There she meets handsome stranger Nick who helps her out of a bind but reminds her a little of her ex (well her ex's good points anyway). Is this a Christmas romance, will it even make it to Christmas or is he the one?
It a light, cute read, with a sprinkle of Christmas spirit.
An extremely enjoyable read, full of character and festive cheer.
At the start of the book we meet Angie, down in the dumps because her boyfriend cheated on her but it gets worse- he's also her boss. Making the decision to leave California and fly home to her family in New England, Angie spends time with her family and friends and finds work at a local shopping mall. There she has a cringe-inducing first encounter with Nick which makes Angie start to consider if she would be able to fall in love again this year.
A well-paced and entertaining read, jam-packed with fully-developed characters in an exciting plot. Truly a perfect book to read this Christmas season.
Perfectly fine. Cute-ish characters. Very cliche and predictable but pleasant enough. Very PG. Angie moves home after a breakup and starts to rebuild her life. She meets Nick and sparks fly.
This is my first Christmas read of the season and it was a great one to start with. It has all the ingredients of a good Christmas story.
Angie thinks she has it all, a good job, money and the perfect boyfriend, that is until just before Christmas her world falls apart. The once perfect boyfriend, who was her boss, dumps her and she is out of a job, just like that. Not being able to stay where she is, she has no choice but to go home.
Feeling like a failure, she has to start her life all over again, living with her parents, and trying to find a job. However, she soon realises that this is the life she should be living. This is a lovely feel good read.
Angie has come home after leaving her job in California . Caught in a web of lies from her ex who was leading a double life with a fiancé she didn't know about. Time for a change. She comes home to find her room has been taking over by her grandparents. Time to make plans to find a job and move on.
Nick is working with his dad. Dad is a person who likes control and has split his family . Nick's brother has his own company and their Dad has cut him off. Nick wants his family together and his Dad to let them live their own life. Angie and Nick meet at a local café after Angie's card has no funds. She has applied to work at the local mall where she worked as a teenager. After interviewing with a girl from high school who didn't care for her. She is losing hope that she will get the job. She doesn't know it yet but she is about to embark on a journey with Nick. This journey will take them on plenty of ups and downs. But it is a great adventure.
Wrapped Up for Christmas is a cute novel to read this Christmas. The main character is Angie, who returns home to the East Coast after breaking up with her boyfriend (and boss) in California. She then meets Nick and feels like her luck is about to change. This book definitely puts you in the festive mood, as they pick a Christmas tree, go to the local tree lighting ceremony and more. The only downside was that the writing style wasn't my cup of tea. I felt it could have been more show versus tell. However, if your ideal book reads like a Hallmark Christmas movie, Wrapped Up for Christmas is the novel for you.
I received an ARC through NetGalley but all opinions are my own.
I loved this book! :) Put me right into the Christmas spirit and what the season is all about. Hoping to have this turn into a Hallmark movie?!
This was the perfect holiday romance! Angie had everything she ever wanted until she loses her boyfriend and her job and has to retreat back home. Once home, she finds that she has not yet hit bottom when she runs out of money. No one is hiring due to the holidays so she is lucky when she snags a temporary job, the same one from high school, at the local mall.
Nick jumps to the rescue of the woman in front of him at the cafe when her card is continously declined. Unable to follow her, he can't seem to get her out of this mind. When they run into each other again, he cant let her go. They begin a causal friendship as she shows him the real ways to celebrate Christmas. However he doesn't know h0w to break it to her that he's her new boss. He has enough problems with his own family dynamic and showing his dad he can take over the family business.
The chemistry between Nick and Angie was so perfect and I loved this story. Not only does it check all the right boxes for the perfect holiday romance but it also shows independence, following your dreams and the beauty of second chances. It has some beautiful dynamic relationships and just enough drama to keep you drawn in. Such a wonderful second chance story with the 'magic of Christmas' bringing everyone together. It gave me all the fuzzy feelings. Most definitely recommend-- grab your hot cocoa, fluffy blanket and curl in for the night with this book.

🎄📕 MY REVIEW 🎄📕
Good story from beginning to end! This book has all the feels and emotions. The characters are very likeable and relatable. Angie and Nick easily drew me into their world as their bittersweet story had me cheering them on. This would make a perfect Hallmark Christmas movie. Many thanks to HQ Digital, NetGalley, and the author for a ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Angie is returning home for Christmas, if only it were under better circumstances. She has lost her job, boyfriend and apartment in the blink of an eye and is having to start all over again.
After a chance meeting with Nick in a cafe, is Angie ready to let someone into her heart so soon after being let down by her ex?
The author states in her notes that this is her homage to Hallmark Christmas movies - I certainly think she has met that objective. A sweet Christmas novel about second chances, charity, family and forgiveness.
