I am a fan of alternating perspectives in a romance novel and this aspect I enjoyed, I also loved the inherited inn, dog and village storyline. However, I just could not connect with the main characters and found myself skipping through the last few chapters.

Aurora Rey is another one of those authors who I love everything that she writes. This story was no exception. I couldn't wait to see what would happen and to keep them in my thoughts when i couldn't read because I was so torn up with not knowing.

You had me at inherited an inn and moved to England. Seriously, though, I loved Lauren's story and then there is Cam, who owns a gin distillery. Gin! It's so quintessentially British! I also loved how their relationship developed. It wasn't exactly enemies to lovers, but definitely antagonists to lovers.

Rey has once again proven to be an author I want to keep reading.

I read this after having read the author's most recent book, which I thought was absolutely amazing. This one unfortunately didn't grab my attention as much - the information about gin and the redecorating and relaunching of the inn were interesting and the English countryside setting was great, but I just couldn't warm to the lead characters. The ending felt rushed, and the concept of Lauren trying to promote an inn by telling industry press that she's thinking of selling it was odd. On the other hand, the writing flowed very well and the supporting characters were interesting and I liked seeing poly characters.

An honest review thanks to NetGalley. This has to be one of my favorites of Rey's. The chemistry between Lauren and Cam is instantaneous and kept me waiting for when they finally got together. Their love story is the main plot point and it kept me entertained and willing to stay engaged into the story the entire time. This was a great romance!

I don't like alternating points of views, but all in all, it's a nice little fluffy romance, a book for a rainy Sunday afternoon. So go ahead ;)

Not gonna lie, I first wanted to read this book because I just watched a movie with a similar premise, only the whole time I was watching it, I was wishing it had more lesbians in it. So this was a dream coming true, basically!

And I had so much fun with it, too! The writing is a perfect balance of funny and serious enough to let us get to know the characters. The romance isn't overwhelming; it's cheesy in just the right way. Definitely worth your time!

I am always a fan of books that take place overseas, especially in small towns in the UK. This book was no exception. It’s a nice, slow read to enjoy in bed after a long day working out in the cold. The dynamic between the two main characters, Cam and Lauren, as they strive to reach a compromise and restoring and reviving parts of their small English village they call home, was enjoyable, much like the various drinks they discussed that Cam would make for them. As an American who loves history, especially British history, I found myself on Cam’s side for much of the book as she did not want change to come to her home but slowly, and with consent and understanding, she learned that not all change is bad. Lauren was very respectful and I found myself wishing I had such a friend and co-worker in real life. It was fun seeing how an American and English woman worked to go past their differences and discover that they’re not so different after all. I look forward to more works by this author.

The plot for this book was quite different than the lesbian romance books I typically read. I am glad I read this one! Lauren has lost her job and while trying to figure out what she will do, she finds out that her great uncle has left her an inn in England. The inn has quite a cast of characters, including Cam, who runs a distillery in town. Sparks fly and they both fight the feelings they have for each other throughout most of the novel. This is a classic lesbian romance set in a quaint town in England. Definitely a must read!

This was an absolutely lovely romance book. A great, but sometimes cheesy storyline. A steamy romance, and both the main characters were amazing. Definitely pick it up!

sweet romance between two women who, at first meeting, seem polar opposites.

They seem to be at odds over everything business - especially this wonderful tradition filled pub. But their chemistry leads to passion, eventually love AND a great business

Lauren has just been fired from her marketing job in New York when she finds out she's inherited her uncle's pub and inn in England. Thinking she can flip it to fund her own marketing firm, she heads to England. Meanwhile, Cam runs the local distillery and is worried about the new owner. She likes things the way they are and doesn't see any need for change. This book was really enjoyable - I loved the setting and seeing Lauren figure out her place at the inn (and in the world). I also liked Cam - her resistance to change was sympathetic, and it wasn't over the top. I also loved their friends - Charlotte and Anja are supportive and caring, but they're also super fun. I will say that for me this one was a little slow moving - I was able to put it down for a day or two and not miss it. But I was invested in it, and was particularly interested to see how the storyline with Lauren's previous job would resolve. Overall Lauren and Cam worked for me (especially once they learned to communicate) and I enjoyed the setting. I'm open to inheriting an inn and pub anytime!

If I could give a half star, I would give this 4.5 stars. I feel like the book is MUCH better than the description lead me to believe. I thought Lauren would be complaining constantly about being in England, but really she gets along with everyone and is very lovely right from the start.

I'm a big fan of the cheery, outgoing main character finding love with the broody, stand-offish character and this one had it. I thought Cam and Lauren had great chemistry both in and out of the bedroom. Cheers to Rey on that!

Another high praise is how the book ended. It didn't feel rushed at all, and I got a real sense of their future lives together. It was wrapped up so nicely. Having said that, they would be a couple I'd love to come back to in a short story. That's coming from completely selfish reasons, because I loved those two!

Great book! I hope she continues to give us some more of what England has to offer!

I loved the Inn at Netherfield Green. Beautiful and authentic story with engaging main characters in a stereotypical - but completely believable - English village. Lauren and Cam have great chemistry, and the story is supported by a wonderful cast of genuine secondary characters. I loved the gin and gentrification background! Highly recommended.

I enjoyed the unique setting of this book. I also thought the love story wasn’t overly sappy and was believable. Overall, I enjoyed the storyline and it kept me interested until the end.

This a good read. The storyline is a bit cliche, but it isnt enough to ruin my love for this book ❤️. The sex scenes are steamy enough ☺️Aurora Rey doesn’t disappoint.

I have a soft side for stories set in the English countryside. Lauren is disgracefully fired from her job in New York. Just as she inherits her uncle inn in England. She decided to take this opportunity, renew the inn and sell it to start her own company. She didn't count on meeting gin distiller Cameron Crowley, who is adamant that the inn is kept in its old fashioned state.

The two most compromise and work together to make the inn successful again while dealing with their mutal attraction. Lack of communication leads to angsty moments, flights across the Atlantic and guilty feelings.

A good weekend read!

This was a nice and easy romance read that didn't have a complicated conflict, and some pretty steamy sex scenes. The chemistry between American Lauren Montgomery and Camden Crowley is palpable the moment they met. I loved their first meeting, it wasn't a cute meet, but Lauren's temporary short circuit was adorable. I also found that Cam's adverse to change is played all the way throughout her interactions with Lauren. She seems to instinctively know that Lauren is different, and that freaks her out.

If anything, I'd say that it is a little too formulaic, right down to the fight and mini break up that always seems to happen near the end of the books. This was the same, but it wasn't sudden - Lauren's effect on the Inn was immediate, and Cam's insecurities came out in full force. It was partially a plot point to help drive Lauren to shore up her problems back in the States, and an important character moment that I think may have been resolved with clearer communication on both women's parts. So it was equally annoying and good. Which surprised me, because I really hate last minute conflicts, I saw it coming from a mile away, and it was actually a really great moment for their relationship.

So, if you're looking for an easy romance about a brooding gin brewer and a charismatic blonde marketer set in an idyllic English town, this is for you. Though predictable, I loved watching the characters bring everything together.

This is a lovely romance and perfect escapism reading. Two things happen for Lauren in quick succession. She loses her job and is unceremoniously frog-marched out of the building, and she discovers she's inherited an inn in England from a great uncle. With nothing to hold her back, she flies from New York to England to suss out her inheritance. Cam lives in Netherfield and runs the family gin distillery (the gin education was enough reason for me to read this). Lauren's presence and big-city ways continuously unsettle her.

The story is told in alternating points of view and while they are both likeable, I found their voices very similar. I often had to flip backwards to see who was talking. The trope, city girl inheriting a house/business in the country, is one I've read often so in order for it to stand out there has to be something different about it. There are a few aspects that give this story pockets of interest but the bulk of it is pretty samey.

Some of the things that stood out for me were the information about gin, the reason Lauren lost her job and how it all played out in the end. If you haven't read many books with this theme, it will be a much better experience. That said, there are some very sexy intimate scenes and it's still a good romance.

Change. Unexpected change. Camden Crawley, works in the family distillery business and has also created a blend of her own which is selling okay. Cam is easy going, enjoys family, and not interested in change. Lauren Montgomery, driven, limited interaction with family, and interested in making a go of the inn he has inherited after being fired from her previous job. Small town Cam meets big city Lauren and sparks fly. Both women are likeable in their own way. As the story unfolds and challenges are encountered it was interesting to observe the give and take as both women work toward their goal. I enjoyed the romance and fluffy story. I especially enjoyed the self talk and processing that both characters exhibited while figuring out what is important to them now and in the future. I also like the secondary characters and their entertaining contribution to the story.
