Oh wow! What. A. Book. It left me breathless!

Just when you think this author can't get any better she does!

It's then and now plot is brilliant. Both are full of suspense, cliff hangers and twists.

I read this in one sitting as after that start there was no way I could put it down until I'd read every single tantalising word.

I will recommend this book to everyone I know.

Deserves more that 5 stars.

The Other Daughter by Shalini Boland is yet another compulsive page-turner from an author who, in my opinion, can do no wrong. After recently discovering Ms Boland's writing, I can honestly say that she will forever occupy a place on my must read list.

Rachel is having coffee with a friend when her two and a half year old daughter Holly is abducted from a local shopping centre. Rachel has never given up hope that her daughter is alive, and years later is stunned when a new family moves to her small village with a young girl who is the spitting image of her precious daughter. Is the coincidence too implausible, or has fate found a way to reunite her with the daughter she thought had been forever lost?

Told between the alternating timelines of 'now', in which Rachel has moved on with a new partner and two young children, and 'then', told from the perspective of the abductor, this is a mystery that will turn all that you think you know on its head. I was entirely gripped from beginning to end. I cannot wait to see what comes next from the talented Shalini Boland.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC.

I always enjoy Shalini Boland's work but this book just blew me away. From the first chapter I couldn't put it down. As I got to know the various characters I tried to work out how the story was going to play out but only succeeded in tying myself up in knots. The final denouement when it came left me staggered, I really didn't expect that. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery with a twist at the end. Congratulations to the author on what I think is her best novel yet. I wish I could give it 6 stars.

Review will be posted on Goodreads and Amazon when the book is released.

5 stars!

Ohh my god this was simply AMAZING!! That ending just completely blew my mind! I don't think I was even expecting a twist but that's probably because I was so caught up in the story I wasn't even thinking about that. This was just beyond my expectations. The ending was so massive that it actually took my brain quite awhile to absorb what I had just read, so I am very thankful that the author decided to not just end it there, at the big reveal of the twist, but she carried on to explain it in details and to give us a follow up type of story. Only then did it fully hit me. I did have to read it a couple times to sink in but wow! It was a powerful twist that I didn't see coming. There is also a decent amount of suspense in the pages which for me shows that it has been very well written.

The story is written in both the past and the present. The past being about a woman named Catriona and the present being about a woman named Rachel. Rachel's daughter, Holly is kidnapped one day from a playhouse in the mall. 9 years go by without any information on what happened. The police have no leads. Then Rachel sees a girl who is the age Holly would be, and she's convinced that girl is Holly. Only she needs proof. I will not say anything about Catriona other than her story too is a very interesting, enjoyable and engaging read.

From start to the end this story holds your attention. It leaves each chapter with just enough mystery to keep you wanting to keep reading. For that reason I ending up flying through this.

This is my second book by Shalini Boland and once again she's written a masterpiece. She is now definitely added to my favourite authors and I can not wait to dive into her other novels that are already published while waiting for new ones to pop up. An absolutely captivating read! I can not highly recommend this enough!

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this Arc.
It's every parents nightmare. Your child is taken, kidnapped.
This one kept me on the edge of my seat.
But I certainly didn't see that ending coming!!
Another fantastic one from Shalini Boland.
