I initially downloaded this book as i assumed it was Christmas themed as it features Christmas in the title. Alas it barely had anything to do with Christmas. However, i still enjoyed the story mostly about nate and JB as apposed to the main character jessy! The writing style was enjoyable and it was an easy read.
I remember watching Abbey Clancy on Britains Next Top Model. So when I saw she had written a novel. I was intrigued as to whether it would be any good. Im pleased to say it was very enjoyable.
To the general public she is Jessika Malone popstar. To her family and friends she is just Jess , from Liverpool and in a relationship with her childhood friend Daniel. Who is now a big time record producer. Although Jess is a successful popstar. She is very much a home body. When she is offered the chance to guest star on a Cooper Black single. She jumps at the chance. The single does so well Cooper invites Jess on tour with him. Across the United States. Its a huge opporttunity for her. But it means leaving Daniel. Who has just proposed to her. Its only a month away from each other. Daniel will be busy with work. The time will fly by. Abbey Clancy wrote a great mix of characters. Along with a story that moves along at a good pace. Recommended read perfect for the winter months.
ARC requested from Net Galley as part of Mills & Boon Insiders.
I recall reading Abbey Clancy's first book around 3 years ago and really enjoying it, so when I spotted this one on Netgalley, and with Christmas in the title too, I knew I had to read it. What I didn't realise, in part because I can't retain book details for 3 years when I read as many as I do in a year, was that this is actually a sequel to Remember My Name, and in fact seems to be set not too long after the previous one finished.
It was after the first 20% where odd bits sounded like something I'd read before where I finally re-checked the first books blurb and twigged, at which point I stopped feeling like I was going mad and was able to settle into the swing of the story. That being said, still wondering why on earth Christmas is in the title, as it barely features at all. This is not what I'd call a festive story at all which is ultimately disappointing given my love of them at this time of year.
Once I got back into the swing of things I did enjoy the story, although maybe its just because I'm a bit older now but at times Jessy really did get on my nerves.
I enjoyed the writing style, there were moments that made me smile, the small amounts of sex were fabulous, but it was the storyline between JB and Neale that really made the book for me. I loved both of these characters so so much, and seeing how great a friend Neale was to Jessy, and omg that scene in the hot tub... that definitely was a standout!
At times I was a bit unsure whether Jessy and Daniel would ever see a HEA or not, which at least kept me on my toes.
Light hearted, entertaining novel and I suspect even though this didn't quite hit all the right spots for me I'd still be happy to read more from the author, just hope its not such a gap between releases!
Thank you to Mills and Boon and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily,
This was a lovely Christmas story to read. Not my usual genre. But I absolutely loved it would recommend to others who are looking for a pre Christmas read 5******
I'll be home for Christmas is a fun, festive, Feel Good Read!
It tells the story of Jessika who is discovered when performing as Elsa at a childrens party and is now a world famous pop star embarking on a new music adventure with her best friend Vogue. When Jessika is offered a once in a life time opportunity she starts to question everything and everyone around her.
Will her relationship be able to survive long distance and can a girl from Liverpool make it in America?
This book is a lovely story that will have you rooting for the main characters and will put you into the festive spirit!
Well written festive romance. An easy read with well rounded characters.
My thanks to Net Galley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
An easy to read story of a singer who lands an opportunity to travel and make it big but it means leaving behind her record producer boyfriend ..... the one who has been around since childhood and knows the real Jesikka, not the public persona, and still loves her!
This is a joy to read. Such fun and frolic! Thoroughly recommended!
A charming festive romance full of warmth. Well written, with great characters. Read in one sitting and enjoyed very much.
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for allowing me to read a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.

Really wonderful christmas story. Full of charm, romance, great characters, and magic settings this book will get you in the mood to put your christmas tree up early, it did me anyway. Lovely story, i would really recommend it.
What a gorgeous festive cover to this book. The cover was what initially drew me to this book.
The book was as good as its cover. It drew me in from the first page and I couldn’t put it down.
The characters were both likeable and easy to relate to. The storyline captured my attention. A great book
An enjoyable read, but wasn’t really for me, I generally enjoy a good chick lit but this felt like it didn’t know what it was meant to be, felt a bit confused.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
Now I love a good bit of chick lit. Unfortunately, this wasn’t really for me.
The best way I can explain it is that it reminded me a lot of those books ghostwritten by Katie Price. Young girl, glamorous career, handsome yet dangerous man, nightmare situation, cheery ending.
It wasn’t bad. Like, the writing wasn’t bad, the plot wasn’t awful, it just wasn’t that great. Ok to while away the time on a boring afternoon, but nothing special - not one I would buy.
