A slightly disappointing novel that has an interesting idea at the heart of the story but it feels like it tries too hard. The book choices that feature throughout are what people would expect a stereotypical bibliophile to recommend and it felt false to me. On the plus side, I liked the idea of the passeurs.

Unfortunately this one really wasn't for me. The description makes it sound so appealing! But it just fell short for me. It came across as quite pretentious and shallow, and either the writing is bad, or the translation is bad - not sure which, but there are some sections that are quite hard to logic out as the grammar is just odd. Basically, a book that is full of its own misplaced importance, I would give it a miss.
