One thing is for certain when you start to read this book and that is you'll have absolutely no idea of what's in store. Thursday is married to Seth who has two other wives so she only sees him on one day a week. She doesn't know who these other two women are which is rather strange as in polygamous marriages all the parties usually know and/or live as one family unit. However Thursday seems happy with this arrangement until she starts to feel insecure and jealous so decides to try and find out who these other wives are. What follows is a truly twisted tale and certainly not what I expected although there were clues along the way. I really enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more from this author.

Big thank you to @netgalley and HQ for allowing me to read this ARC! Was super excited when I got the email!!

I'm struggling with reviewing this book because even though it was fast paced, good writing and the plot sounded amazing, it didn't go in the direction I was expecting and I actually ended up disliking all the characters 😂 going off the info I read I thought it was going to be based around polygamy and that type of relationship but it wasn't all related really.

Overall I did enjoy the book! It kept me hooked, but I feel like I felt a bit off track with it a little then when the twists did come out I was abit more like what?! In a weird way rather than shock 😂 I definitely want to re-read this to see if I can see it differently now I know what happens!

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. There were plenty of twists and turns which kept me guessing throughout.
I would read more from Tarryn Fisher without hesitation.

This is the most unusual book I have read for a long time. The narrator of the story is a young lady named Thursday who tells us she is the legal wife of Seth. She is his second wife yet he has married another lady named Hannah since she is unable to provide him with a child. Seth is a polygamist as his father was before him. Thursday comes across as a confident woman who finds herself in a position she had never imagined, having to share her husband's time with 2 other women. As she describes this, we gradually learn that she is not as accepting of the situation as we are first led to believe and when she discovers a receipt in her husband's pocket she decides to start looking for the other wives.
Little by little she discovers names and places, snippets of information which lead her to the women who share her life. Then she starts to discover that Seth is not the man she thought he was. She convinces herself that Hannah - or Tuesday as she knows her - is in danger from Seth and that she needs to help her get away from her husband.
From hereon, things begin to get complicated. Facts don't add up, Seth starts to get angry with Thursday and tells her she is making things up and that she shouldn't meddle with other people's relationships. Thursday's life spirals out of control and this is the point where I couldn't decide who was telling the truth. Everything Seth said kind of sounded more convincing than Thursday's version of things but I couldn't trust either of them.
With few friends and family in their life together there weren't many other people chipping in with their opinions however it's not til virtually at the end that we really understand what has been going on.
This is a very cleverly written book, and while I couldn't have sat and read the whole thing in one sitting - it is far too emotionally draining for that - I did find myself thinking about the storyline while I was away from it and was drawn strongly to pick it back up and continue with the tale.
There are several triggers in this book which some readers will find upsetting.

I loved the premise of this book, I liked that my trust in Thursday’s account was constantly tested, and I liked the levels of obsession that were played with. I didn’t relate to understanding quite why anyone would sign up for this kind of set up and still wasn’t convinced by the novel that this character would find herself in this situation but it was an ok story.

Clever and captivating. A fast paced, tense book which has you questioning everything you read..Very cleverly written but the ending was a bit disappointing.
My thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for allowing me to read an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

I really loved the way the book started and the way the story continued. I found the ending a big disappointing and I felt it could be a little different, but that is my opinion. Overall it was a great book.

Betrayal at its best. What a fast paced tense book that will leave you breathless. Can’t wait for the next book by this author.

Thursday loves her husband, Seth. But she’s pretty sure his other wives love him too. She’s agreed to be one of three, never meeting the others, but always aware of their presence in her husband’s life. Then one day Thursday has the opportunity to meet the third wife, and sees her bruises. Is Seth hiding more than she realised? An enjoyable read with plenty of twists and turns, The Wives will keep you on your toes until the end.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, didn’t see the ending coming. Won’t be the last Tarryn Fisher novel I read. Highly recommend for anyone looking for something fast paced and easy to read!

I went into this intrigued. I didn’t have any issue getting into this at first. The pace was perfect.

However the first half of the book was missing something. I was intrigued enough but not gripped. I went into this expecting some intensity but that was lacking for me.

Then the big plot twist happened. The book took a nosedive from there. Using mental health as a plot twist makes me uncomfortable. Especially in this case. I’ve read books using mental health before but I never really took an issue with it as much as I have here. I don’t know why those books didn’t bother me as much. But the reason behind her mental health issues also made me uncomfortable. There are better plot twists than this.

The twist just put me off wanting to finish this book. But I powered through.

The last part was just messy. Just making the women look ‘crazy’ for the sake of some extra drama at the end. It was just not what I expected.

This book drove me crazy in all the right ways! We follow the story of Thursday, one wife of three that her Husband has. And none of them know anything about the other wives other than that they exist. Understandably she is curious about the other wives. I mean, wouldn't we all be?! So when Thursday discovers a tiny tidbit of info about one of the others she does some online digging, discovers where she can find one of the wives and heads off to see what her competition is like. This is where the story takes a chilling turn. Thursday gets chatting to this other wife and spots bruises on her. Couple that with the other wife being a little vague about her Husband and acting a little odd Thursday then begins to suspect that the Husband is physically abusing his wife.... well, one of his wives. But that Husband is her Husband so does she really know her Husband at all if he can behave like that?! Still with me? It all may sound a little confusing but for me that's what totally had me gripped throughout the whole book. I was feverishly reading trying to figure out what was happening, especially when every so often a big twist would be thrown in. Just when I thought I had it all figured out I was then forced to second guess myself and I think that's exactly how Thursday was feeling in the story, which just made me connect and invest in the book all the more. I think The Wives was incredibly well written and I definitely did not see the end coming the way it did. Mind blown! I absolutely loved this book and can't wait to read another by this author.

I’m so torn with this book. I absolutely love every single Tarryn Fisher book I have ever read, and I was so excited to finally read this one. The story started off great, the middle of the book had me questioning everything, I had so many theories to how it would end and I just knew it was going to end spectacularly. Then for me it didn’t. It just felt like I’d had a massive build up and then it flopped. Maybe it was just me and maybe it was just not what I wanted to happen with all my theories? It just felt rushed at the end. I so wanted to love this book like all the others. It would have been five stars if the ending hadn’t left me feeling deflated. 3.5 stars for me.

My recommendation is you go into this one blind and see for yourself. Maybe it’s like marmite.

I received an ARC of this book thanks to NetGalley and publisher HQ in exchange for an honest review.

What a curious book! I was instantly intrigued by the premise of this thriller. I personally haven't read many books about polyamory and I think it's actually the perfect topic to explore in a thriller-type setting. Thursday is one of three women married to the same man, named by the days he spends with them. One day she finds out the full name of one of his other wives and so she investigates her life, leading her to find some potentially disturbing things out about her own husband.

The first third or so of this book was brilliant. Thursday was a great narrator, the setup was a little unbelievable but gripping and best of all, I had no idea where the story would go. Unfortunately the book doesn't stick with this premise the entire way through which is really all I can say without massive spoilers. Instead it takes a rather confusing swerve in topic and plot and it never manages to quite recover from it in my opinion.

The writing itself (in terms of style) is probably the strongest aspect of this book, followed by the characters. Even after it took the turn I disliked, both of these elements remained strong and I was invested in the story because of the connection I had built to the characters. I still couldn't predict what was going to happen which was nice, although I found the ending a little confusing and I'm still not quite sure what actually happened with everything.

Overall, I still think this is a decent thriller but it does a lot of stuff in the last 60% which is going to put some people off. I wish it had stuck with the excellent story it began as but as it is, it's a pretty standard but well-written thriller.

Overall Rating: 3/5 stars

I have never read anything by this author before but wow. I just kept questioning everything I'd read and just when I thought I had it worked out I found out that I didn't. Lots to think about in this great book. Very thought provoking. My brain!

I really enjoyed the first half of this book however after the first twist I felt that it started to drag. It was an enjoyable read at first however I did lose interest towards the end of the book.

Thursday is married to Seth. Seth is married to two other women. Thursday knows this but she doesn't know them and they don't know her. They all live separately while Seth bounces between them.

One day, Thursday finds something that leads her down a rabbit hole of shock, anger, fear and paranoia.

I read this book because there was a lot of hype about it and to be honest I was loving it until about 50% of the way in. I enjoyed the characters and I was very interested in the choices they were making but the twist just kinda became a bit ridiculous. I wish it had continued in the direction I thought it was heading in. I'm getting frustrated with books like this because I just don't enjoy them. Unfortunately, because I never know where these books are going until I'm in the thick of it, it's too late!

# The wife’s # Netgalley
It’s started well i
Thought I was going to enjoy this book. However I am sad to say it did not continue the way it started. Therese a good few twists and turns. That come along it’s just unfortunate I was expecting a couple . I am sure if it’s your type of book you really could enjoy this book being honest. I chose this book as it was already approved and at the
Time it had something a bit special and spellbinding. When I came to read it I couldn’t find the special bits or the spellbinding section. Now truthful I have said this about other books if I am feeling off for whatever reason perhaps I shouldn’t read a book I have a chest infection and I know some book appear different when I am not 100% myself. So I am not slating the book because I know I will read it again when over the chest infection and it will be like reading a different book. I do like to be honest and fair
