“Wishes Under a Starlit Sky” by Lucy Knott
Yes, I loved this story. In my humble opinion this story is for anyone who has ever felt betrayed or just lost their way. There were so many phrases I wanted to keep to quote. But before I locked them in my memory vault; I had turned more pages because I just could not stop reading. I received an ARC of this story from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed are honestly mine. Yes, I did laugh and I did shed my share of tears. I do hope you find this an excellent read also. Happy Reading !!

This is a story of recovery, but also the importance of family and friends.
There are many stories in the book in addition to the main characters - so there is something for everyone.
In some places, I found it a bit slow, but it is full of encouragement and the need to take control.

Inspirational is the best description.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the plot, the characters, the focus on friendships and healing; all combine to make this a cathartic read for anyone who's experienced rock bottom and had to rebuild everything.
A book of two.parts, this story transports you to the stunning mountains of Colorado and the wondrous winter there including snowboarding, log cabins and festivals. The second part focuses on the characters' months after, building a new future after healing.
Full of little details that were perfect and a focus out of the box on, not a romance to heal the main character but, a rediscovery of family, of friendships & sisterhood. It was wonderful to witness the transition of the main character after such devastating circumstances, it was written brilliantly with authenticity and real heart.

This is the first book I have tried by this author and I was really looking forward to it
The cover looked fun, wintery, cosy and Christmassy.
I am sorry to say I was disappointed
. The book started off ok with the leading lady enjoying a great break with her husband.
However once they returned the husband asked for a break the minute they get through the door
Sadly for me the book went downhill from there.
There as not any real substance to the story for me after that and sorry to say I didn’t really get very much further through
Sorry but not for me

This is a beautiful story of healing and self reflection! Harper takes us with her on a journey through three Christmases with some life in between. It starts with the first Christmas her husband walks out with no reason other than he needs a break. This utterly gut wrenching act sets the tone for how destroyed Harper felt and her room for growth and healing. The next two Christmases are spent between London and Colorado where Harper is able to go back to her foundation and heal.

My favorite parts were spent in Colorado. I loved the details of the food, the mountains, and the outdoor activities. Half way through the book I realized this was not your traditional romance but more a story of a woman who resurrects herself. A new life, new job, new home, new goals, everything! It really makes you believe that all things are possible and only you have the ability to make them happen. It's a beautiful story and perfect for reading during the holidays and before the new year.

Having enjoyed Lucy's previous books, I was looking forward to reading this new book.

The book starts with a happy Harper quickly becoming a very sad and heartbroken Harper - not great for someone who works for a romantic film company.

However as we discover during the book, there are lots of friends (old and new) and parents to help Harper discover a new and better life.

This isn't a traditional romance book but a book looking at how Harper turns a painful time in her life, into a series of new beginnings - new friends, new home and new work challenges.

This is different to Lucy's previous books but I loved it - it is a 'modern' look at how a young woman can deal with heartache and move forward. It is also a great advert for Colorado and I feel that all the readers will be searching for holidays in log cabins there.

Definitely a book to curl up with during the winter with a mug of hot chocolate and a cosy blanket, maybe under a starlit sky if you can find one.

Thanks NetGalley, HQDigital and Lucy Knott for my digital review copy in exchange for my honest review - a 5 star read for me.

Harper Hayes may work for Pegasus Entertainment, a fictional TV channel that sounds a lot like Hallmark, but i can't help but think Wishes Under a Starlit Sky would be a perfect Hallmark movie.

It is full of heart, messages of goodwill for the season, a whole deal of love - family love, sisterly love, friendship love, and just a hint of romance too, although not as much for the main character.

It's the story of three Christmases, and a small bit of life in between the festive periods. The first one we see Harper heartbroken as her husband of 6 years demands he wants a break. It's not the most cheery start to a book but really does set the scene for the far more healing and joyous Christmas the following year where Harper and best friend Madi go out to Colorado to stay with Harper's parents for the festive period.

And its all the sections in Colorado that captured my heart and lead me to believe that Lucy Knott is becoming an incredibly accomplished author in just her third book. I loved every moment of it - all the friends they make, the different snow based activities, the array of pretty things you could decorate cookies with, the waffles and pancakes, seeing Harper attempting to snowboard and so so much more.

There are deeper story lines within it, to do with families, which really did tug at my heart strings and leave me with a great big smile on my face.

To me this book screams Christmas, not in the most obvious of ways but the general feeling of the story, the way it made me feel, the absolutely gorgeous wintery setting, and the general themes within it.

I was completely hooked anytime I was reading it and regretful at having to put the book down to return to real life.

A truly joyous read and perfect for this time of the year.

Thank you to Netgalley and HQ Digital for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I have loved reading Lucy's previous books but I think this might be my favourite to date.

Set between London and the stunning snowy Colorado this book just oozes with festiveness and is a hug in a book.

The lovely Harper is in limbo after the unexpected end of her marriage and after a year of kicking her heels and hiding from the world, Madi decides it is time for her to take control of her life back.

This story has the most superb friendship between Harper & Madi and takes you on a wonderful journey as she rediscovers herself and learns that she has all the tools and friends she needs to love her life again.

A story brimming with positivity, containing gorgeous food as you would expect from Lucy, a stunning location and yoga under the stars - what is not to love! A superb book that I read into the early hours of the morning as I just had to know if Harper got her happy ending

I enjoyed this book and following Harper’s story as she recovers from the breakdown of her marriage. The setting in Colorado was magical and really made me want to go. However as the book continued, it became more like a self help book rather than a novel at times and I found that a little harder to read. But overall a good escapism novel

Aaah, I loved this book!
The perfect mix of romance, finding faith in love after heartbreak and a sprinkle of Christmas magic.
Lucy’s writing style is so easy to read, the story flowed perfectly and I found myself really looking forward to the time I could pick the book back up and join Harper as she rebuilds her life after her husband leaves her with no warning just before Christmas.
One of the loveliest books I’ve read recently, I’ll definitely be looking out for other books by Lucy Knott.

This is an ok story if you're looking for a Christmas read, but it didn't grab me quite the way that I had hoped. It has unique characters and a variety of settings, but the soundtrack was my favorite part.

Lovely festive read. It was a heart warming romance. It was a wonderful book to read. It was well written and flowed well.

A very good read. Our poor heroine has a bad shock and as the story unfolds we see her recovering and finding happiness. That sounds quite depressing, but given the way she grows and finds herself, it is actually a book filled with hope.

This is such a lovely book to read. It’s the story of a girl named Harper, who has a lovely job and the “perfect” life.
But spanner’s are thrown in her perfect life, and It’s about how she deals with these and finds, through soul-searching what she’s capable of and if there’s such a thing as happy-ever-after.
This book made me laugh and cry. A lovely holiday read. Unputdownable.

An interesting story about finding yourself, and following your dreams when life sends you a curved ball.
Would not actually describe this book as a romance, does not follow the usual trend, but a pleasant and relaxing read, loved the description of the scenery you could just imagine being there.
.Main character's lovable !best friends, hippy parents.

One of my favourite things about Lucy's books is that she manages to get the things she loves most in life, as well as things that happen to her down on paper and turns them into stories that are magical and familiar. I adored 'How to Bake a New Beginning' and 'The Ingredients for Happiness,' because they felt like home and those snippets that were inspired by real life warmed by heart and made me smile.

Her third book 'Wishes Under a Starlit Sky,' amazes me for how Lucy turned a very unpleasant time in her life into a gorgeous book full of hope and love. Honestly, I was blown away. I even told her that this one may just be my favourite of her three!!! Maybe...I feel bad for choosing..but it is really, really good.

Where to start? Firstly, I love Harper's name! Harper Hayes just rolls off the tongue and makes me feel like she could be in a Hallmark movie, which coincidentally she could be, because her job is writing romance scripts for a company not so unlike the Hallmark channel. In fact, reading this book made me feel like a Hallmark movie was playing in my head. The settings were utterly enchanting and stunning and the scenes were just beautiful and sweet. Our family needs a trip to Colorado pronto. We've always loved log cabins and the idea of snowboarding down snowy mountains, before sitting round a roaring fire with hot chocolate, but after reading all of those scenes in 'Wishes Under a Starlit Sky,' the need to actually book a trip now has grown tenfold. At Christmastime too, the magic was palpable.

The story itself I found incredibly inspiring. It's not a romance in the traditional sense, but personally I'd say it was still a romance. Butterflies in your stomach, warm and fuzzy feelings, goosebumps and smiles are feelings you get when you fall in love and all of those feelings are present in 'Wishes Under a Starlit Sky,' but rather than falling in love with a man or woman, this book is about falling in love with life and most importantly yourself. It's about finding love in the things that are present in your life in the moment; getting butterflies looking at the beauty of nature around you, feeling warm and fuzzy meeting new people and connecting with them, smiling non-stop because of delicious food that you just want to devour in one bite, getting goosebumps at the sight of twinkling lights and Christmas decorations. It's about looking in the mirror and loving what you see, no matter what anyone else says or does to you. It's about finding that self love and believing in yourself no matter what life throws at you...

Life throws Harper a snowball she doesn't want one Christmas and a year later the affects are still apparent. She's learning to navigate life in a new way, to make decisions on her own and to still go after dreams that she was on the verge of grasping albeit now in her own way. I was so proud of her for every little step in the right direction and every little moment that she learnt to love herself and take a chance. I cried, I really cried because Lucy writes with so much emotion that I could feel it pouring from the pages. It wasn't an easy thing for Harper to go through, it took time, so much time to heal after being treated so poorly, but being with her along the way and learning new lessons with her was a very empowering experience.

I've not even mentioned all of the wonderful characters in this book, of which there are many, so so many, but if I go into detail about them all, I'm literally going to write an essay. I'm pretty sure i'm half way there already! I can't resist mentioning a few though... the relationship between Harper and her best friend Madi was beautiful, they were practically sisters and I adored their interactions. Harper's parents were the coolest. The people she meets in Colorado are even cooler and then there's Dean and Poppy! Ugh I told you SO many!!!

'Wishes Under a Starlit Sky' is enchanting, magical, empowering, festive and a definite must read. It's about keeping on keeping on when you feel at your lowest, but most of all it's about LOVE. Love for others, love for yourself and love even when it's the last thing you feel like doing, because love is always stronger than hate.

This is the first book by Lucy Knott I've ever read so I didn't know if I would enjoy it. Thankfully, I really got into the story and loved reading about a creative main character, as I too am a writer of sorts. If you enjoy the festive books of Caroline Roberts and Heidi Swain - I think you will love this.

3.5*
A charming tale of finding yourself when you feel the most broken. Harper's journey as she chases her dreams and her lost self-confidence is sweet, and not as festive as the cover suggests!

It was also great to read a commercial romance with a character who embraces elements of what is sometimes viewed an alternative lifestyle.
