A great premise that quickly fell flat for me, unfortunately. The story throws the reader right into the deep end of the pool with Claire waking up in the hospital with no memory of who she is, her friends, family, or her husband. The story quickly gives the reader the impression that the people around Claire are keeping secrets and she can’t trust anyone.
The plot goes in circles repetitively on the issue of the untrustworthiness of everyone, including Claire, which didn’t drive the story forward and quickly began to frustrate me. With the continuous back and forth, I was tempted many times to give up. There are so many details thrown at the reader about Claire, her accident, her phone calls with a mother she doesn’t remember, an aunt and brother nobody told her about and extreme tension between Claire and her husband.
When the details began to piece together, the big reveal was a big disappointment, and the ending of the book left me without any real closure.
My Final Verdict: Overall, I was looking forward to this story and thought it had a great premise, but the story failed to deliver. The plot was choppy, very little character development and I struggled to feel any empathy or connection with any of the characters. Fans of the mystery, suspense and thriller genres will find much better choices than this one.
Thank you to the publisher, HQ Digital, who provided an advance reader copy via NetGalley.
This was a quick read that I finished in one sitting. It starts with Claire, that wakes up after a car accident, with total amnesia. I can't even imagine how scary that had to be. Everybody tells you stories about yourself, but you don't know who you can trust and who is trying to take advantage of you. This was an entertaining read, and I will try more by this author in future.
Omg talk about a roller coaster read wow this book kept me on the edge of my seat threw out I just couldn't put it down this writer keeps you hooked and once your hooked your not letting go I found this book thrilling the characters were fantastic and well thought out and the little clues all the way threw keep you guessing until the end this book stays with you long after you close the book this book is well worth the read I promise you wont be disappointed
So gripping! I couldn't put it down. Absolutely can't wait to read more from the author based on this one.
Claire wakes up in hospital after an accident not remembering anything or any of her relationships. She soon realizes she is beautiful and married to a handsome man and has strange relationships with the people closest to her. She must find out who she is and what happened the day of the accident.
Ahh the amnesia thrope. It was done fairly well though the resolution of the issues was but clunky. I liked it a lot but didn’t love it.
Thank you very much for this book.
First book I've read by Lana Newton and hopefully not the last.
This is a good book - one to sit and read in one sitting.
Lots of twists and turns, great characters, lots of secrets and well written.

What a situation! You've lost your memory and are reliant on your loved ones to fill the gaps. But what if they're not what they seem?
I was sucked in from the start and enjoyed the tension
I will be on the lookout for other books by this author.
This one's so good, compulsive and kind of one sitting type of read with over the top situations and lots of incredible plot twists, everybody had secrets and characters were very cartoonish and I loved it! Maybe because I was not taking anything very seriously that's why it works, fast read not a single page is a waste.
This is a very well written psychological thriller. It is a page turner that is full of twists and turns. The characters are believable which adds to the suspense.
A good book
Thank you Netgalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review. An interesting novel by a new author in my personal reading-sphere! I am sure others would enjoy it too. Good character portrayls, descriptive setting and gripping plot.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Claire and her father have been in a traffic accident. When Claire regains consciousness, she can’t remember anything. This story follows her as she learns things about her life and relationships that she never expected. The thing I like about thrillers is a great plot twist at the end, and this book doesn’t disappoint! Claire is so vulnerable and likable, and it’s easy to see why she gets so confused and doesn’t know who to trust. I spent the whole book on the edge of my chair, cheering for her.
This was a magnificent story. I really enjoyed reading this book. The characters were well developed and the story was filled with mystery from the very beginning.
Thanks to Netgalley and the Publisher for providing me a copy of the e-Arc. I am very grateful! This one was very enjoyable and will definitely read more from this author in the future!
This book was very well written and full of twists, turns , secrets and lies. The characters keep you on your toes trying to work out their motives. I loved how I thought I knew what was happening but really I had no idea.
This twisty thriller will keep you up at night. Highly recommend it! 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Thank you to Netgalley, HQ publishers, and Lana Newton for this book in exchange for an honest review.
Claire wakes up in the hospital with no memory of who she is and how she got there. Little by little, we learn more about the event that led her there.
This book was just okay. I enjoyed the premise of the story and I think it might appeal to some but it wasn't for me.
Thank you to NetGalley and HQDigital for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Her Perfect Lies is a great read that will have you gripped from start to finish. It is an intriguing story that is full of mystery and suspense and perfect for fans of the psychological suspense genre.
I would recommend this story to all thriller lovers .This book took me by surprise. It kept me interested throughout the story and I needed to see what was going to happen. I truly enjoyed the pacing of the story and the well written characters.
The story is about Claire who has been in an car accident and has no recollection of her past once she gains consciousness. The story begins from this point onward as Claire tries to navigate her new reality and tries to fill in the gaps of her past life.
I liked the writing of the book as it was very accessible and easy to get into. The situation that Clair finds herself in makes her an unreliable narrator and it is something I really enjoy in psychological/domestic thrillers. Admittedly, the plot took some time to take off, and as is the case with thrillers, the characters in particular weren't very likable. However, as I progressed in the story I was intrigued by the mystery and the secrets that people around Claire were harboring, which kept me going. Was it a little predictable? yes, maybe, but overall, I found this book to be a decent read. Looking forward to what Lana Newton does next.
I received an ARC from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
