This is quite an interesting one :)
So i want to say i liked it a lot, but at the same time so much of it did not make sense to me! The plot i have to say is quite interesting. There's the MC who left someone at the alter, to move back 15 years after and fall for the younger sister!
The supporting characters are a main part of this read because of the family situation due to Claire leaving Kurt at the alter. Ivy, the sister is a very likable character but somehow i couldnt feel the connection between her and Claire.
This is an age gap, and a very very slow burn romance one as well. So if you are into slow burn romances you might actually like it a lot more than i did. There was a lot of drama in the book that didn't add to the whole experience. It should've been entertaining (death of Ivy's twin sister, Ivy working with Claire even though both families hate eachother, and Ivy herself not at all acting her age).
Having said all of that, i ended up being OK with the read. Had to skim through a couple of times, but overall i would recommend it to the ladies who like slow burn romances.
P.S; I really like the Cover :)
My rating is a 3.

A Moment in Time features Claire, a workaholic who returns home to her small town on a forced vacation, and Ivy, the much younger sister of the man Claire jilted at the altar fifteen years ago. Neither of the women were my favorite characters. Ivy was immature for 24, which made her relationship with 35 year old Claire a little difficult to believe. The supporting characters felt a bit like caricatures more than real, fleshed-out people. It was an easy, light read, but it wasn't the kind of story that will stay with me.
I'm not that much fan for age gap. thought 10y is not that much to me. to add falling for the ex-boyfriend sister. i was super hesitant to read this. I wanted to read it last but somehow i got to it first, super glad that i did. I did not see it as his sister as much as i sympathies with her situation. thought i dont know why the author made her seem so fragile when she's clearly not. I wanted her to show growth from her past self. I loved the dads. the ghost or whatever.... super cute and enjoyable read. all characters were great.
When Claire Fontenot left her fiance Kurt Savoy at the altar 16 years ago, it created a feud between the Fontenot and Savoy families. Their fathers were once best friends and now hate each other compete against each other in the hot sauce business. Claire now lives and Houston and rarely returns home because of this. Ivy Savoy is Kurt's much younger sister. She keeps having a reoccurring dream about her soul mate. She can never see her face, but she knows this is the woman she is meant to be with. After Claire is forced to take a vacation from her job, she decides to go home for the weekend to surprise her Aunt. Claire meets Ivy after her car breaks down on the side of the road and here is where the romance begins.
I read a book similar to this last year and it was even set in Louisiana like this one. The difference that I liked is that in this romance the feud hasn't been that long really. Anyway, even though the families don't like each other, I can't say that I ever felt that I didn't like the mains or the supporting characters. They actually were all very likable characters. Even though this is sort of an age gap (24/34), I felt that Ivy acted older than her 24 years. Not only do I classify this as an age gap, but it is a slow burn too. That doesn't bother me really and it fits the book since their families don't like each other. Overall this is a just a sweet romance and I enjoyed reading it. I do feel like the ending was a bit rushed.
I will rate this one 3.75 stars.
VERY cute story! In the author's notes in the beginning of the book. she references that she grew up in Louisiana and I really think that helped add the charm that's in that location. It's adorably Southern.
Ivy was such a sweet character. I also really felt for Claire, who made a bad (but good) decision when she was younger that caused a ripple effect through these two families. By the end, I wanted her just to yell at everyone to grow up and get over it. Especially Kurt, who acted much younger than his age.
The clock portion of the story took longer to happen than I thought it would from the description. It also seemed like that would be how they met but surprise, not how the two MCs first meet! I do have to say the boat scene was hilarious. I don't want to say more than that.
The end did have a bit of "suspend your disbelief" that I wasn't expecting. But as some people say, weird things can happen in the South!
Overall a fun read that I enjoyed over a few days. Not sure I'd re-read it, but I'd tell my wife to read it!
Feuding families. Falling for persona non grata. The synopsis grabbed us because this is a lesbian Romeo and Juliet – and of course, we want to read all spin-offs of the Bard of Avon.
The Fontenots and the Savoys hate each other with passion. The reason: Claire Fontenot and Kurt Savoy were getting married. Actually getting married when Claire ran away leaving Kurt standing at the altar. The fathers of the bride and bridegroom were the best of friends but this incident drives a serious wedge in that relationship. After her turn as the runaway bride, Claire left town to never return. But return she does – fifteen years later. Claire seems to have an irresistible attraction towards and from the Savoys because almost as soon as she returns there is an irresistible draw between Claire and Kurt’s little (no longer so little now) sister, Ivy.
We absolutely love that Claire studies clouds for a living and Ivy’s dream job is to repair watches. Unusual and interesting choices. There is so much sweetness in affection and liking between the MCs for each other.
This is an entirely whimsical story with improbable situations, convoluted twists to bring the MCs together, fate unfolding in dreams and even an angel thrown into the mix. All of this means this is a fairytale not assuming to be a contemporary romance – and it is thoroughly enjoyable in that space.

I’m not sure what I was expecting with this one, but whatever it was, I didn’t get it. This features MC Claire who is returning to her hometown 15 years after jilting her fiancé at the altar and MC Ivy who is Claire’s ex-fiancés younger sister. Claire and Ivy’s families have been ‘feuding’ since the aborted wedding. They meet and don’t recognise each other, and are attracted to each other and then realise the obstacles.
Ivy is about 11 years younger than Claire, and while I usually like age-gap romances, Ivy acted young for 24 years (though in her defence her much older brother acted like he was in his teens) so I didn’t really buy the romance between the leads. I’m sure most of their interactions were supposed to be ‘cute’ but I didn’t see any sparks. The whole family feud thing was ridiculous as well. Claire and Kurt were all of 19 when they were supposed to be married, frankly Claire should have been applauded for knowing not to go through with it, no matter the reason.
Through a series of ridiculously contrived circumstances Ivy ends up working for Claire while she’s in town, this means they spend a fair bit of time together but most of this is spent endlessly rehashing ‘feud’ stuff with relatives and other people who live in town.
Ivy also has unresolved issues about her twin sister’s death and Claire confronts a bully from her past but neither of these side plots was particularly engaging. The romance wasn’t strong enough to overcome any of the issues I had with the story. I’d give this 2.5 but am rounding up.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.
This was a cute romance.
Claire hasn't been home in fifteen years after leaving her fiance Kurt at the alter. When her job demand she take a two weeks vacation because she hasn't taken one they also tell her she in the running for a promotion and she has to compete with a colleague name Preston. When her friend Denny convince her to go home after she explain why she hasn't he tell her to go.
Ivy is working with her family is the younger sister of Kurt and she has this recurring dream that she meet her soulmate when she and Claire meet she believes she found her.
When they learn who they are to each other they know it can't never happen because of the fued between there families but when Claire sales the treasured lost clock to the woman Brittany who bully her in school that Ivy told her her mother to give away because it remind her of twin sister Violet who died and she blames herself for her death.
When Claire needs help at her Aunt shop she makes a deal with Ivy to get the clock back if she helps her in the shop because she had to fire the guy working there. This was a good read they didn't fully get together until mostly towards the end.
I like both characters and how they both lift each other up to stand up for themselves how Claire said what want she wanted to say to Brittany on how words can stll affect in your life how Ivy finally told her parents about her guilt for Violet death is affecting her.
