Honestly came out of reading this graphic novel unsure of how I feel about it.
It was weird/surreal enough that it kept me reading, wondering where on earth it was going/how it was going to come to an end, but in my opinion that was the only thing that kept me going.
The way the main character changes form is quite gruesome, I'm unsure if it was meant to be portraying the concept of stepping into another animals skin in terms of using its skills to survive, or if it wasn't that deep and was just going for a surrealist concept, either way it didn't click with me and the kind of content I enjoy.
There were also some questionable stereotypes of other people living in tribes in the forests which while similar imagery is used in other comics/graphic novels in this style that I have read before, this is newly published so in my opinion theres no excuse.
Overall:
Maybe a one time look if you're not too squeamish and take it all with a pinch of salt but don't think it'll be one that I buy for myself or others
I have loved many wordless Graphic Novels and Comics but this one just didn't do it for me. I struggled to follow what was actually happening.
Lovely illustrations and nice colour palette but I think this is one that would have worked better with some words - even just a few here and there to clarify the plot.
Maybe I just missed the point.

Bittersweet prehistoric fantasy.
Well, this was cool. A story about the prehistoric hunter and his loyal dog trying to catch the bigger predators. The animals are work of fiction as well as hunter's ability to use the skin of the bagged animal to transform into them, to possess their power. And that's a cool idea and I enjoyed that story even if it is very simple. The art evokes more a children's book, but the tale is sometimes a bit dark/sad. This comics book is nice, although I'm a bit sad it was so fast read (even with its almost 200 pages). But I really did enjoy it.
There's only one thing for fellow fans of wordless comics to do – check this out, pronto. It's immediately funny, with a parade of animals coming into and leaving a static frame concentrating on a lump of chicken or other meat, and the book knows it can take its time to reveal the truth. It's also leisurely with its plot, which concerns a bloke that can embody any animal whose hide he wears – some give him great sight, others speed, strength, or the ability to give the shits to anything else, which includes his bright blue dog-like companion, as well. When a local jungle community he's only just met with is decimated, he's asked to go out for revenge. Sure, some of the action that follows is a little cartoonishly slapstick, but boy it's good fun – the concept is a great one and great use is used of its potential, and it's a dead cert bit of fantasy entertainment. Only a couple of scenes that take a bit too much time to parse, and the ambiguity of the ending, stop it from being a full five stars, but this really is a keeper for me nonetheless.
The most bizarre comic I've ever read yet I was so glued to it and intrigued by it . The dog in it was so sweet and so loyal!
This story is an interesting hybrid - the plot is essentially prehistoric adventure, like something out of Conan the Barbarian, but the art style gives it an amusing, comic tone. The result is a bit like the Tintin comics, only without the dialogue and in a different historical setting. Ultimately, the hybrid style works really well, presenting a story that's at once cute and scary, amusing and adventurous. Lots of fun to read.
There aren't any words? Yet, I was engaged from beginning to end? How is that possible???
Easy. The pictures told me everything that I needed to know: that dog is the most loyal pet you'll ever meet, that jungle(?) had the strangest creatures I've ever seen, and no matter how far away from modern civilization you go, you still need to always keep your guard up.
It's quick to get through and the art is suitably strange. Pick it up, if just for the doggo.
This one was... weird. I like strange and unusual but this one was just a bit too much for me personally. Love the cover design but I wasn't a big fan of the style of illustrations throughout. I can see there being a target audience for this, but unfortunately I'm not one of them.
1.70 stars ⭐
this was... pretty weird... I kinda liked the skinsuits, in the beginning I wasn't sure if it were a metaphor or if he actually took the form of the animals he dressed... poor dog :c
An amusing tale about a prehistoric like man who lives alone in the wild. He has special powers and is able to take on the form of the animals he kills. He is what paranormal books would call a skinwalker.
His life changes when he goes on a hunt for a dragon kind of animal which has destroyed a nearby village. Although he has the ability to change as he embarks on this quest he doesn't realise that this hunt will change him for ever.
This story is told without words, just using pictures. It is a quick but amusing read with cartoon like graphics. It is imaginative and entertaining. Even though it didn't have words it was quite easy to understand.
