What a great follow up in this 2nd story. Iris, Kira, and Miranda swore to never date one of the King brothers ... Kira has failed, and Iris has to admit that Cade remains easy on the eye. However, he is still the joker he was at school - until fate provides him with a son who makes him grow up fast. As Iris appreciates his efforts and falls for Bear nearly as much as she still cares for Cade, and that promise is starting to seem to her like it needs breaking too.
This was a pretty cute romance and it was already a foregone conclusion how it would end from the start.

I read the first book in the series and loved it so much. But this book I did not love at all.

I should mention that this a newer author for me and while I loved the first book, both characters were strong, smart and in lust with the other. This story was very different and I did not love it at all. The two main characters are Cade, a manwhore and Iris, the town sheriff. They have a very adverserial relationship. So to some degree this is a 2nd chance at love, they knew each in high school. But also they have hated each other for years too.

That is until Cade finds out he is a dad and Iris takes time off to help him figure things off and so they move in together for a few days. I found Cade kinda dumb. And that is really why I did not love this story. I had no idea why Iris liked him so much because he is an idiot.

That said I did like Iris, and Bear the son and the friends and characters from the other story. But I felt Iris could have done so much better.

I hesitated after reading book 1 in this series to dive into book 2 but, I really enjoyed this one more. I liked Cade and Iris together and liked the spin on the second chance romance. It was a fun, easy read and kids always make me enjoy the story just a little more.

Promises are made to be broken!

Police officer Iris Rosewater had been in love with Cade King during high school until one of his idiot ideas got her kicked off the soccer team ending her hopes of a college scholarship for college. Cade apologized but Iris and her friends promised each other never to date a King brother even if they became rich.

Cade King and his brothers created a company that made them billionaires and they moved the company back to their hometown. Cade enjoyed bothering Iris and she decided that Cade hadn’t changed but when he found out he had a son named Bear that he didn’t know about and he was clueless about being a parent. Iris decided to help Cade because his parents were not the best example so she had to start teaching Cade how to parent from scratch.

Anyone But Cade is a very good second book in the series because Cade is the jokester of the brothers and he finally has someone that makes him want to grow up.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

When I read anyone but rich , I loved the secondary characters, especially Cade. So when this book got released I was quite estatic to read it.

Cade and Iris’s story did not disappoint. The book had all the steam you come to expect of penelope bloom , as well as humor and touching moments!

Highly recommend this series, you won’t be disappointed . Thank you Netgalley and penelope bloom for my ARC

Like the first book in the series, this one had such promise but didn’t really live up to it. Some moments were really funny or sweet. But I found Cade’s manchild antics far less charming than Iris apparently did. And when Cade finds out he has a five year old son who needs a home, his parenting style is worryingly lax. He’s got a big heart, and the author clearly has a soft spot for him (or whoever he’s based on in her life), but I found him extremely irritating.

I loved it. The first book had my expectations high and this book was definitely not a disappointment! The story flowed so nicely that before I knew it, I was at the end and wanting more of it. Great characters and interesting storyline. What more do you need? Recommend this series.

Did anyone ever do something to you so bad that it ruined something very important in your life. Well Iris did. A high school boyfriend ruined her chance at college. She couldn't forgive him. Skip forward seven years. Cade is back in town. Will the flame burn again? Will she arrested him and throw him in jail? Most definitely! Cade is a fun loving guy who shrugs off everything with a funny comeback. Iris is a local police woman. She was never able to get over him ruining her change at college. He still secretly never got over the one that got away. Read this amazing book to find out what happens.

I really wanted to like this book but I just couldn't get into the story. I felt like I started in the middle. The main characters were annoying and the joking was funny and then is wasn't.

I received this book in advance for a voluntary honest review. Another great addition to the King series. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend reading book over, Anyone but Rich. Cade is the goofy playboy who uses sarcasm and humor as a defense mechanism. Iris, Cade’s high school girlfriend whose soccer career was ruined by one of his jokes, is now a cop in their hometown. Iris and her two best friends made a pact that they would never, ever get involved with a King brother ever again. When Cade asks Iris for help she agrees to one week, but that one week could change their lives for the better. Great read!

What a great follow up in this 2nd story - Anyone But Series and I absolutely fell in love with Cade in the 1st story. Seven years ago Cade and Iris dated in high school and Cade made an incredible stupid decision that negativity affects Iris and they break up. The brothers, Rich, Cade and Nick King leave their small hometown to become very successful businessman and decide to return to build their headquarters and each hope to secretly reconnect with the one who got away. Unknown to the brothers the girls, Iris, Kira and Miranda make a pact to never ever give the brothers the time of day again. With Rich winning back Kira’s heart there is hope for Cade and Nick. Cade has always been the funny outrageous one that you never know what will come out of his mouth or what will occur when around him. He is one special man who lives with a light heart until he discovers he has become a father and was never told until his son, Bear is 5 years old. Cade does not know much about being a father and he impulsively gets Iris involved to help him. These two have their ups and downs during the week Iris takes off work and they learn to get along and find love again. Cade finally finds himself growing up and allowing others in and that’s when he finds true love. Iris, Cade and Bear become a loving unit and those who don’t understand them are left by the wayside. I absolutely enjoyed this heartfelt, fun loving story and look forward to reading Nick’s story. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I thought this story was really enjoyable.

I thought that the characters were great too. They were very well developed and I liked the author's attention to detail. The interaction in the book was great and I found myself slightly addicted to the story as the book neared the ending.

The plot was well developed but I did feel that it lost its way in places but this was always going to be one that I finished as I needed, and wanted, to see how the book would end and I would definitely recommend that you plough on reading as it has a great ending and really picks up.

It is 4 stars from me for this one - highly recommended!

Loved this book.
Again one of the King brothers is hot, sexy and annoyingly sweet.
Cade and Iris have history that she hasn't forgiven him for, but when something unexpected happens she softens towards him and helps him out. However hard she tries not to, I don't think anyone would be able to resist the King brothers.
Amazing read.

Anyone But….Cade is the second book in Penelope Bloom’s Anyone But...series, and Cade and Iris lead the way. As with book one, this story partners a King brother with one of the group of friends who vowed to never let these troublesome bad boys into their lives. Also present in book two are many cheesy and cliché moments and I felt that the story dragged on far too long. That said, it was fun read that didn’t require too much focus.

If you are into books that have you laughing out loud
and then wanting to kick bums at other times than you definitely
can’t go past this one.
Iris and Cade were kind of girlfriend and boyfriend when they were
at school until Cade put a brownie filled of dope in Iris locker which she
found and got kicked off the soccer team for having dope in her system.
Years later Iris was a cop and arrested Cade well this is where this book
really had me hooked.
Its is definitely interesting watching Iris and Cade come together
again after so many years apart.
Will Iris be able to forgive Cade so they can become a family that involves
Cade’s son that he has just found out he had when is sons mother is sent to
jail.
To find out how everything comes together you are going to have to read it
yourself.
I highly recommend this book.

Anyone But Cade by Penelope Bloom is the second book of the "Anyone But..." series. If you had read the first book in the series, Anyone But Rich, you'll know who the characters are already and the back story. Iris and her BFFs, Kira and Miranda, all vowed to never let the King brothers get in between their friendships again. Seven years ago, they sworn an oath to never date a King brother. Seven years later, the billionaire King brothers return to their small town with a new business venture.

The first book focuses on Richard King and Kira's story. This book focuses on Cade and Iris. While the series is just a huge ball of cliche and cheesy, cringe-worthy moments on paper, I do think Cade and Iris are my favorite pair. They're both the more developed characters in the series. Some of the dialogue Cade has are just "LOL" worthy. However, some of the events and motives are pretty unbelievable. Like, who agrees to care for someone else's kid by taking a week off work, especially when you "hate" that person?

The storyline is a bit dragged; could've wrapped it up in half the amount of pages. However, it is worth a read if you don't care for good writing and only looking for an easy, entertaining read.

Thank you to Netgalley, Penelope Bloom, and the publisher for providing me with an ARC, in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

First of all I'd like to thank Montlake Romance for sharing an ARC of this book in exchange for my review.

Seven years ago, Iris was in high school and was a promising soccer player when some laced brownies were found in her locker and she was kicked off the team. They weren't here brownies but those of her boyfriend, Cade. She was so upset she broke up with him and she swore a pact with her two best friends that they wouldn't have anything to do with Cade and his brothers. The brothers left town after high school but recently returned as the wealthy owners of a company. One of the three friends has already connected with and married one of the brothers. Iris comes into contact with Cade early on and things are a bit frosty at first but with time their relationship changes and they get to know each other as adults rather than the teenagers they once were.

This was a pretty cute romance and it was already a foregone conclusion how it would end from the start. The nice parts came along finding out how that eventuates. The most interesting twist in this tale is the added character of Bear, who seems to help bring the two together more than they might have in other circumstance. There were a couple mysteries that were kind of obvious but they played out well. Like other Penelope Bloom stories I've read, the main characters are pretty likable and these were no different.

I give this a solid 3.5 stars. I will post my review online two weeks before publication.
