Bishops Queen was everything I hate about second chance. The stupid drama, heartbreak, the angst, ugh. So much so that I skimmed a good part of it because I just did not enjoy myself. Now that is not a knock to the writing, it’s just not my cup of tea.

OMG so many feels and so much emotional pain in one story. Isla and Evan’s story picks up right where this last story left off and we finally get to see these two overcome their issues in order to be together and move on. There is so much happening in this one, including finding out what really happened in the very beginning to lead to the death of Isla’s father and the attack that separated them in the first place. Katie Reus has been stealing my heart and mind for a long time with her different series, but this one is getting more and more interesting, even going in knowing that it will only be three stories long, which makes me a little bit sad honestly. Evan push Isla away in the first of this trilogy after his attack left him scarred for life, knowing she deserved better than him and that he would never be good enough for her again. Isla fought with everything in her to keep Evan, even though she was also dealing with the loss of her father, but she refused to let the man she loved leave her, until finally she couldn’t fight any more for a man that just didn’t seem to want her anymore. Moving on with her life, to the best of her capability, she only has a few tasks left in order to fulfill her responsibilities to her late father before she can let her old life go, when suddenly everything blows up in her face. Once again Evan is right there, determined to push his way into her life and protect her from every danger, except the danger he poses to her heart. Evan has never stopped loving Isla and now that she is in danger he refuses to let her go, but as they spend more time together it gets harder and harder to accept that he might have to let her go again someday. I loved Isla and she was one of the strongest female characters I have read in a long time, simply because despite the damage that Evan did to her heart, she never truly stopped loving him. She was determined to release him like he demanded, but she also knew she had to protect her heart at all costs; she never stopped loving him and knew that she had to get away from him in order find any safety for herself. When she finds herself in danger, she accepts that Evan being in her life is a necessary evil and will keep her heart safe even if she can’t keep away from him. Evan has decided that keeping away from Isla is highly overrated and that the time has come for him to reclaim the only woman he has ever loved. She is in danger from an unknown killer and there is no way he will risk her safety, even as she fights him and their love, but he will use everything at his disposable to make her accept him back in her life. The passion between them is beyond undeniable and the heat is enough to burn up the entire city, even when it is just them fighting the passion and each other for dominance in their relationship. I am seriously loving this trilogy and this family of badass alphas that have captured the hearts of even more interesting people. I cannot wait to see the last Bishop come out of hiding, face those that have set him up as a traitor, and find his own mate. Damn Katie is a true Mistress of Sensual Romance and her grasp of human nature and relationships is magical.

This is the second book in the Romantic Suspense series Endgame that closely follows the first book Bishop’s Knight. Isla and Evan were engaged until a bomb went off killing her father and nearly killing Evan. He pulled away from Isla and was pretty awful to her in his time in the hospital., understandably. However, he then breaks off the engagement and won’t speak with Isla…yet they run in the same circles, so they’ll wind up running into each other eventually.

Isla is moving on with her life post-Evan. Sort of. She doesn’t really want to believe it’s over, yet she puts one foot in front of the other each day at her father’s company. Technically it’s her company now, but she doesn’t want it. Her goal is to finish the deals he had left on the table, and eventually sell the company. But for now, she’s amazing at what she does, and she’s going to continue on. Until someone tries to kill her.

Evan is angry at the world. He thinks he’s giving Isla her freedom and her life back by setting her free. But when she is in danger, he can’t seem to let her go off alone, or even with protection. He won’t feel right unless he’s with her. But as soon as he spends time with Isla again, he’s reminded of why he loves her. There’s no one else for him. So does he let her go free, or does he try to win her back? Can he live with himself if she stays with him? Can he live with himself if she doesn’t?

When Isla finally realized that Evan pushing her away was more than just his scars, his survivor’s guilt, his own demons…it was the fact that he felt the explosion was his fault. How could she marry him when he was responsible for her father’s death? Isla had never realized Evan blamed himself for the explosion and it really cleared some things up (for me as well!). However, someone is still trying to kill her, so their new fragile relationship is still being tested. Is Evan going to be able to keep Isla safe? is it personal? Or is it related to the business? I liked the set-up, I liked the suspense, I liked the characters and I liked the writing. This book and the series are really right up my alley.

This book has a second chance romance, a fake fiance, and a suspense plot! It’s amazing and never once felt over the top. It felt like an exciting Suspense with a villain I didn’t see coming until the end. I want to dive into the final book as soon as I can! Ms. Reus consistently pens intriguing and fresh characters with thrilling plots.

Katie Reus is one of the best in the romantic-suspense genre. This book is a great addition to the Endgame series and I was swept away in the continuing plot. The characters are broken , flawed, and real, particularly Evan who is scarred both inside and out.

The mystery is well done and the plot wasn't predictable or formulaic. It kept me guessing and wanting to read more. In fact I can't wait to read the final addition to this trilogy.

This time its Isla and Evan's turn.
Some good characters. Love Isla's character. I love Isla's mother. Didn't trust Geno at all. Action from the start. Someone is out to get Isla. Can Evan stop them. From being mugged of her briefcase to having an allergic reaction. Who is it?. Brilliant. What a twist. I was sure I knew who the stalker was. Surprised by who it was. Looking forward to the next book. 5*. Highly recommended.

I wasn't sure that I would like this book. I really enjoyed Bishops Knight but was a little leary on this one for some reason. Evan was damaged inside and out and Isla loved him anyway. He turned her away because of his injuries as do alot of injured people. It was slow to start and then took off really quick. Evan was one of my favorite characters after I started reading it.

Second of End game trilogy. This could be standalone but It really helps to read the first one. (I did read the first one and it really describes Evan and Isla's relationship.)
Isla lost her father in bombing and she was barely holding on until her fiancee Evan ghost her as well. She was there in the hospital for him while he was gaining consciousness but he never wanted to see her after waking up and decided to end his relationship via his sister.
Isla had to move on and carry on with her life. She had to keep her head high and be head of her company. She is trying to finish all the deals, when she gets mugged. Now she is rattled and she doesn't have anybody to turn too.
When Evan hears Isla is mugged, he was determined to protect her whether she wanted or not.
Isla is thankful Evan is helping out but she is not sure where they stand and she is not ready to forgive him yet.
Evan finally realizes Isla is the one but will she forgive him and give him a second chance.
This was good as the first one. It kept the suspense and kept me guessing until the end.
I can't wait to read the next one.

This was a great story that I really enjoyed as I do with most of this author’s book. I tend to find second-chance stories hit or miss but this one was definitely a hit. I look forward to the next book. I highly recommend.

He doesn't even give her answers why . One reason is his guilt of her father's death and two his scars . Isla soon finds herself targeted by someone. With her life in danger . Evan insists he protect her . Isla tries to keep her heart locked down but her love is still strong . Evan has done enough damage to her heart . As danger mounts from more than one direction Evan realizes he needs Isla back with him and sets out to win her back and keep her safe . This story is an action packed , pulse pounding and intense suspense . An outstanding story . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

This is an amazing series from Katie Reus! I loved her first book "Bishop's Knight", but the second one "Bishop's Queen" takes it to the next level!

Wow!!!!! Action / adventure / murder mystery all in one book. Isla and Evan had been engaged ....until the bomb blast killed her father and caused major scaring on Evan's face and chest. Isla say for days in the family hospital waiting room, waiting for Evan to wake up from being in a coma. Evan feels guilty about the death of Mr. MacDonald ( Isla"s father), and does not want to have her look at his scars / him with revolution, so he denies Isla any access to him. She is heart broken but allows Evan his freedom.

Isla had been forced to take over her father's business. She hates the daily grind of the office, but knows that the company employees need her to keep the company going. She is mugged while at a luncheon with a fellow CFO. Conti is a playboy...appearing to date many different women. Th we reader learns that he would like everyone to view him as being a real assert to his family 's business...instead of a playboy.

Evan becomes Isla's bodyguard after an attempt is made in her life. Both Evan and Isla still love each other deeply, and are afraid they'll get hurt again.

Oh my goodness this book is so good! I so enjoyed Evan and Isla’s journey back to each other. This story has great characters and a great plot full of twists and turns. The love and passion between Evan and Isla is hot, steamy and soul deep.

The characters are authentic and realistic with personalities and depth that blew this baby wide open and exposed in all this glory. The scenes are so beautifully described it gives the illusion you were right there in the middle of ground zero with the characters. Really engaging, action packed, adrenaline pulsing, suspense story with just the right balance of romance to make this a must read for any reader out there. I dare you not to pick up this book and love it as much as I did. Can’t wait for the next book. Happy reading!!

There are so many great things to say about "Bishop's Queen", and if this is your genre, you will want to start turning those pages asap. Even if that’s alone, because she’s determined not to entrust Evan or another man with the power to break her heart again, which has yet to0 fully heal.

Readers may feel a bit lost if they haven’t read the first book in the series Bishop’s Knight as the characters are introduced in the novel and the book picks up a year later in the lives of the characters. Reus fills in the narrative gaps sufficiently, so the story stands on its on aside from references and character appearances. Evan and Isla and their interactions are nicely developed from their strong emotional connection to the fiery sexual attraction that burns between them still. Pretending to be back together so Evan can protect, they are in close quarters and can finally communicate and work through the breakup and their emotions about the bombing. Reus includes and develops a few possible characters/culprits for Isla’s stalker, which keeps it interesting trying to guess who the villains are with all the red herrings. The pacing is a bit odd in the sense that the novel has moments of suspense throughout but is mostly angsty, steamy romance until nearly a third of the book when the pacing accelerates into action like woah.

Bishop’s Queen is a steamy, angsty, very romantic and entertaining suspense novel with a bit of an edgy darkness that will keep readers turning the pages nonstop. Readers might find some of the content a bit dark and intense so sensitive readers might want to watch for that.

Katie Reus is back with the second installation of her Endgame Trilogy, BISHOP'S QUEEN, and as usual, has developed a cast of characters with rich depth and intensity. When we catch up with Evan Bishop, he wakes up from a coma to discover his brother, Ellis, is missing and wanted for murder, and the father of the love of his life has been killed … so he circles the wagons and shuts out everyone. He doesn’t want Isla MacDonald to be burdened with caring for him, regardless of what she wants or feels. Isla is devastated by the decision but has no choice but to forge ahead with life, running her father’s company. Fate steps in and bitch-slaps Evan when she picks up a stalker, and he steps in immediately to be her protector. He quickly realizes what a mistake he’s made, and much to the delight of this reader, there’s no lengthy, angsty push and pull decision to rekindle the love that never fully went away. I’ve long been a fan of Reus, and this Endgame Trilogy has turned out to be a great series.

BISHOP'S QUEEN is well written with an emotional storyline that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I enjoyed the way Isla wasn't about to let Evan off the hook easily, she might have given in once, but it wasn't going to be a habit. She would set the pace, and he would come back or not ... she was not going to beg as she had in the hospital.

If you want sweet, sexy, a strong heroine, a hero who needed a bit of butt-kicking, action, danger, intrigue, and have a bit of time on your hands (because you will not be able to put it down), then get BISHOP'S QUEEN and enjoy!

Ivan Bishop was working on a business deal and also planning on getting married when a bomb explosion left him disfigured and lost. Turning everyone away he even shut out the one woman he loved for the bomb killed her father. Now months later Isla MacDonald has decided she must move on from Ivan since he has shut her out from his life and she now must run her father’s company. Just as she thinks she is making some type of progress going out to a function he shows up. Ivan is there because as much as he wants her gone the pull of needing her is greater. As she makes him work for winning her heart back if possible there is also someone after her, stalking her and this part of the story adds to the suspense and keeps the story moving along. If you have read any of these other books you know what I mean. The characters are very good and overall a good book.

This is the second book in this series. Good mystery and characters. Not as strong as the first but a good read
