Bishop's Queen is a romantic suspense thriller that will keep you guessing. Evan Bishop pushed away his fiancé, Isla MacDonald, after a bombing that injured him and killed her father. But now she is in danger and he will do anything to keep her safe even put his heart on the line. I loved this fast paced story and kept trying to guess the killer (I was totally wrong) Evan and Isla were hot together and I can’t wait for the next installment.

4 1/2 suspenseful stars. I am loving this series and really enjoyed Isla and Evan’s story. Things are certainly anything but easy for this couple. It’s always so difficult to see someone who loves the other so much that they think they have to push them away because they don’t want to drag them down. This is what Evan did to Isla. Katie Reus does a great job of making you feel for Evan and understand what he is doing and why, even if it is still hard at times to like him. The action and suspense in this book are everything you expect and more from this author. Can’t wait for more!!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC.

Evan Bishop was severely injured in a bomb explosion that killed his fiancée’s father. Due to his feelings of guilt that he was unable to protect her father, he pushed Isla away. Isla was deeply hurt when Evan refused to see her, but kept busy taking care of her father’s business interests. When Evan sees her at an event, he realizes that he was a fool to let her go, but will she forgive him? When Isla’s life is threatened, Evan steps up her protection while the police investigate. When there is another threat, he convinces her to stay at his home. Who is targeting Isla, and why? Suspense, intrigue, hot romance and raw emotion…this book has it all. An amazing sequel to the first book in the trilogy, “Bishop’s Knight”. I can’t wait for Ellis’ story in the third book “Bishop’s Endgame”. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

This is the third book by Katie that I have read in recent weeks and I have to say that it certainly did not disappoint and she is definitely on my ones to watch list!

I thought that it was a good story and the characters were excellent, they were very well developed and I thought that their interaction was great.

It is a 5 star read for me and one I will certainly be recommending - I am already eagerly awaiting her next release!! Very highly recommended by me!!

Picking up pretty much where Bishop’s Knight left off, Bishop’s Queen brings us Evan and Isla’s reconnection.

“She doesn’t deserve to be saddled with me.”

This one falls firmly on my like pile and although I enjoyed Isla and Evan together, considering all they’ve been through I was hoping for much more of an emotional pull from them than we were actually given. But for what it lacked in that aspect it made up for in terms of suspense and action as readers are teased throughout as to who wants Isla dead.

“I’ll always come for you.”

Two siblings down and one to go and going on the fact Ellis is on the run after being framed, I’m looking forward to seeing how things play out in Bishop’s Endgame.

The Story in 4 Sentences or Less: Evan Bishop survived a bombing that should have killed him but instead left him with scars and caused him to push away the one person he should have allowed closer, his fiancé Isla MacDonald. Then someone tries to kill her and Evan immediately steps up to protect her by pretending that they’re back together, something Isla isn’t happy about but as the unknown assailant gets bolder and bolder, Evan and Isla spend more and more time together and Evan realizes he just can’t let what happened to him keep him from being happy with Isla. Now he has to convince her that he won’t ever push her away again while keeping her safe from someone who wants them both dead.

Like It? Hate it? Love it? Why? The second book in the Endgame trilogy packs as much of a punch as its predecessor. Evan and Isla were perfect leads in Bishop’s Queen and I enjoyed getting to know them. There were a whole lot of rough emotions being tossed out there, mostly from Evan who had to come to terms with how his life had changed because of the bombing. I loved that he was the one with the hang-ups and not Isla because he just seemed like this invincible wall of alpha male so to see him with such insecurities about himself gave him more depth than he would have had just being the big, strong hero. I think I was a little in love with him myself by the end of the book.

And Isla almost broke my heart with how hard she was working to honor her father’s memory when it came to his business. She wasn’t trying to be a martyr or anything but she did feel a certain responsibility to make sure that she closed a deal that would help thousands of employees. I loved her big heart and her sassy attitude and no matter how much she was hurting over Evan, she didn’t let him get away with anything. Her second chance romance with Evan was fast paced with all the time they spent together and ordinarily that would bother me but Evan was determined to be upfront and open himself up to Isla and there was never any doubt that these two were still in love with each other.

My favorite thing about Bishop’s Queen though was that I couldn’t figure out who was the person that was after Isla until they were revealed and it was totally not who I thought it was! It’s always a treat when a romantic suspense doesn’t immediately give away who the villain is. I was at the edge of my seat wondering when they would strike again and how far they’d get before they were caught. The focus on Isla and Evan really made the suspense stand out and I had a rollercoaster of a time with them.

I really liked the first book in the series, but I loved this one. Here we get Evan and Isla's story.

Evan and Isla were engaged when a bomb killed Isla's father and scarred Evan. Feeling guilty and thinking he's a monster he breaks off all contact with Isla. When someone tries to kill Isla though, Evan steps up and protects her.

The book was full of action, I guessed early on who was the bad guy but still it was a very good read. I especially loved the feelings between the two MC's.

I highly recommend this series. It can be read as a standalone, but you'll miss out if you don't read the first one.

The second book in Katie Reus Endgame Trilogy was just as thrilling as the first! Isla is trying to maintain her fathers company while over coming a broken heart. The one person who could be helping her and supporting her through her loss of her father broke off their engagement right after the everything literally blew up. Evan Bishop is still recovering and trying to come to grips with his scars both emotionally and physically. He thought he was saving Isla by breaking things off and not making her be burden with him and the guilt he feels over the death of her father. What neither of them know is that there is more to come and it could lead to Isla's death if Evan doesn't stop feeling guilty and saves him from the stalker that is after her.

I'm very much enjoying this series, as usual Katie Reus delivers another book you don't want to put down and draws you into her characters and there exciting story.

Evan and Isla were engaged to be married and madly in love with each other. After a bomb rips his offices apart. Scarring him for life and killing Isla’s father. Evan retreats into himself. He refuses to let Isla see him. Breaks off their engagement and leaves her mourning the death of her father alone.

While there’s no excuse for Evans behaviour he was suffering. He blames himself (repeatedly) for her father’s death, that plus his scars and he thinks he’s saving her.

3.75*

Isla can’t get over Evan. He was the love of her life. She’s working herself to exhaustion trying to finish her father’s deals. Then she’s planning to step back. But someone is obsessed with her and her life is in danger. This brings Evan back into play.

I enjoyed this book. While it was easy to guess the identity of the stalker it didn’t take too much away from the story. Evan constantly proclaiming it was “his fault” however got on my nerves.

Also the cover.
I’m picky where covers are concerned. I liked this one until I read the book. It’s not Evan (well not for me anyway). I know he’s grown a beard but the mouth and beard on the cover is more representative of a viking. Plus he’s topless and no scars. I know this is picky but to me Evan is business suits and trimmed beard.

Bishop's Queen is the story of Evan Bishop and Ilsa MacDonlad. Evan breaking off their engagement was devastating to Ilsa filling her with anger and lost love and I could feel this through the pages. Feeling responsible for the death of her father and dealing with his own scars, both physical and in hi soul, Evan couldn’t resist her when they saw each other again. With Ilsa dealing with a stalker, Ilsa begins to soften toward Evan, but will she even survive?
I loved Ilsa and evan’s story and could not put it down.
Bishop’s Queen is the second in the Endgame trilogy and is one you can’t put down with suspense and romance. Katie keeps you guessing right up to the end.

4.5 stars
I was so excited to read Evan and Isla's story after hearing about them in Bishop's Knight. I was fascinated by the man who now felt like he was a monster.

Evan and Isla thought they had everything until a tragic event shattered it all. He felt so much guilt, anger, and self-loathing that he cut his fiancee' Isla out of his life completely and isolated himself. And this left her heartbroken and also dealing alone with her own personal loss and business needs. So they are both still trying to handle the fallout and are still hurting and avoiding.

But a couple months later, their paths are crossing again. Evan realizes he made some poor choices and misses her. But he also still has issues with his self-worth, guilt, and feeling like he does not deserve her. But he wants her in his life in some way. However, she is not sure she is ready to deal with him again. But when she seems to be targeted, he becomes her self appointed shadow and bodyguard and it seems like he is giving her no choice.

Soon they realize things are going from bad to worse. There are threats and it is difficult to pinpoint the enemy or their true motivations. The story is layered with multiple possible antagonists, and I kept changing my mind as I worked through it. So it is full of tension, suspense, and danger. But it also deals with two people still trying to heal, reconnect, face their issues, and hope for a better possible future...if they both make it through this.

I liked getting their dual points of view as well as a bonus character...those parts made me study them for more clues. I really liked Evan even when he was trying to be gruff or distant. He was protective, loving, and self-sacrificing and wanted what was best for her. And Isla was strong and smart and just trying to get through some really confusing and scary situations. Their connection was believable and their hurt and need was palpable.

I liked seeing his sister, Evie and Dylan from the first book and some of the other side characters. I was glad that we got all the answers that I had questions about and that this was a complete standalone story. I am looking forward to their missing brother, Ellis' story in the trilogy finale, Bishop's Endgame.

I have been eagerly awaiting this story since book 1 ended! This is my kind of angst, and I was so happy to see Evan finally come to his sense. I really loved him and Isla. They are clearly perfect together, and I liked how they overcame their problems. The mystery was great! I definitely didn't see the villain coming! Eagerly awaiting book 3!!

We first met this estranged main couple in book 1, Bishop’s Knight. Well, we finally get to know them up close and personal as they find their way back to one another. It doesn’t take long for Evan to eventually realize he’s made a huge mistake. His misguided, good intentions cost him the love of his life...Isla. He’s bound and determined to make things right and stay a part of her life again, in whatever way she’ll have him. This alpha protective hero steps up to the plate to protect his lady love when danger comes a knocking, folks.

Isla isn’t over Evan, either, despite how hard she’s tried to harden her heart against him after their sudden breakup. In fact, she’s still looking for answers to what happened. She puts him on the spot and against the ropes before giving him another chance.

You are kept guessing who the stalker is until nearly the end, despite several possibilities who pop up. I must admit it wasn’t my first or even last guess. That whole scenario was just a tad too much for me to take in and process, especially regarding the culprit’s seedy past.

All I know is Katie Reus knows how to write romance, folks. That’ what really matters to me and why I keep coming back time and time again to check out her new releases.

Title: Bishop’s Queen, Series: Endgame Trilogy (Book 2), Author: Katie Reus, Pages: 261, stand-alone but part of a series, second chance, celibate during separation, regretful, groveling alpha protective hero, some violence, romance safe.

4.5⭐

Bishops Queen the second book in Katie Reus's explosive Endgame Trilogy, was a tremendous read. That excited and enthralled me. Thanks to a storyline that was emotional, suspenseful, and sexy. And I genuinely enjoyed the two main characters Isla and Evan. Who it's fair to say are both battling their true feelings for each other, but for very different reasons. And I sincerely enjoyed how that all played out. Whilst they also handled the mounting threats Isla was facing. Which did get more and more intriguing as the story progressed, and I literally had no idea who was behind everything or how it was connected to the bombing that had killed Isla's dad and caused Evan to cut off contact with her. But I had a great time finding out, and for the couple of hours or so, it took to read I couldn't put this story down. And I would happily recommend it to others.

I have been wanting Evan's story since we got a glimpse of him in book 1 of this series, and I loved it. I was furious with what Evan did to Isla in book 1, but I have to say, he definitely redeemed himself in this book, and I was rooting for these two. Isla was strong, she lost so much in a short span of time and I understood her reluctance to trust Evan again, so glad she made him work for it. I love this series and can't wait for the next book in this series .

Bishop's Queen (Endgame Trilogy, #2) by Katie Reus ...Another winner for Katie.. Thanks so much to Katie, the publisher and #NetGalley for letting me preview this book. This is Evan Bishop(scarred mentally and physically from a bomb that kill Isla's dad) Isla MacDonald ( she doesn't ant give up on Evan even if he has shut her out)...this is where their story picks up and it has it all .. murder, suspense, angst, danger, some laughs, tears, twists and turns, getting to keep up with old friends and some steamy stuff all to get us to a HEA. This book can be read as a stand alone but I recommend you read the first book BISHOP'S KNIGHT and I can't wait for BISHOP'S ENDGAME Ellis story.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Tragic Tear-jerker Happily Ever After Steamy Wonderful characters Scary Easy-to-read Entertaining Unpredictable Action-packed Romantic Page-turner Witty Great world building

Wow, I just hurt so much for Isla when she dealt with Evan just shutting her out and would not even meet to talk with her to end their engagement. Only when she was attacked did Evan step up and protect her. When he does this, he realizes all that he gave up when he cut off things with Isla and now he wants her back. I am so glad that she really made him show her that he was not going to leave her again! My biggest pet peeve is when they cave too quickly during a second chance romance!

Evan only got a small taste of what it felt like when he left Isla behind when she keeps a wall up between them.

I did read the first book in this series but with all the books that I read, I only remembered Evie Bishop's name (not her story) so will have to go back and re-read the first book! Also, really looking forward to finding out what is going on with their missing brother, Ellis.

I did not see all the twist and turns so did not figure out who was stalking her and later when more was revealed you learn this was a seriously warped mind. This was so filled with action and tension and while I wanted Evan and Isla back together, I wanted Evan to sweat it out and have just a small experience of the heartbreak that he gave Isla. I liked that we see some of Evie and Dylan in this book and then even see some of Lizzie from the other series, Red Stone. So, you can tell that I loved this book and it is going to be hard to wait for the last book in the trilogy!

This book is a page turner, the story picks up where Bishops Knight left off and it answered the questions about why Evan had pushed Isla out of his life. They were the perfect couple and so devoted to each other until the bomb that changed their lives forever. Evan had withdrawn into himself and left Isla out in the cold with no explanation until she was in danger and he needed to protect her to keep her safe. Together they are working to stay safe and expose the person trying to hurt them.

This one picks up shortly after the first one ends. Evan is still a grade-A jerk. Isla is working towards achieving her late father's goals when all she wants is her own. Never saw him as the bad guy stalking her. Love conquers all in the end. Loved seeing Evie and Dylan again.

Now as to the last brother...how did he wind up there, and how is he going to clear his name

Evan is scarred when someone sets a bomb off in his building. It kills several people including Isla’s father. After he wakes up from his coma, he breaks up with Isla because he thinks he’ll be a burden to her. Isla doesn’t want to follow in her father’s footsteps but is determined to finish the deals he made before dying. When she’s mugged, Evan knows he has to protect her but after hurting her, she doesn’t want his help. After she’s poisoned, Evan doesn’t leave her side and the more time they are together, the easier it’s for Evan to see what a jerk he was. So when Isla is kidnapped, Evan will do everything in his power to get her back. Can Isla forgive him and move on? Excellent story with suspense and romance. I love this series and can’t wait to read the next book. This story is like calgon it’ll take you away. * Voluntarily read and reviewed this for NetGalley *
