A Favor for a Favor is the second book in the All In series by Helena Hunting. While there are carry over characters, you can enjoy each book on its own as well. It is currently scheduled for release on January 28 2020.

When I joined Seattle’s NHL expansion team, I thought it was the start of something great. But nothing ever goes the way you expect. Take my introduction to my new neighbor. She came rolling in on the hot mess express at midnight, making a racket while she tried to get into my team captain’s apartment. Did I mention that he’s married to a woman who definitely was not her? Imagine my surprise when I end up with an injury that has me out of the game for weeks, and she’s the one to offer to help me. I should probably add that she’s not the captain’s mistress. She’s his sexy, pastel-haired younger sister. So we come up with an arrangement: she rehabs me so that I can get back on the ice sooner, and she can add a professional athlete that isn’t her brother to her client list. Seems simple enough. As long as I can keep my hands to myself and my hormones in check.

A Favor for a Favor has everything I love in a romance. Stevie and Bishop are honestly good people with snark and a fair amount of emotional baggage. I love that they both own their issues and are doing everything they can to make themselves and their lives better. Misunderstandings, emotional wounds, and injuries keep the verbal banter at a high level- and I enjoyed it. I loved watching the paor get to know each other and fall in love when they convince themselves that PT is all they are doing. The secondary characters are just as well built and complex as the main characters, and I enjoyed seeing returning characters as their stories continued and getting to know more of the players in Hunting's book universe. I honestly just enjoy the writing style and find myself thinking about the characters after I finish the book. They feel real, like I could run into them if I ventured into their neighborhood, and I would enjoy every minute of it.

A Favor for a Favor is a wonderful slow burn romance with heart and humor. It is a must read for fans of Hunting.

After reading A Lie for a Lie I wondered who would be the focus of A Favor for a Favor and felt completely validated when I guessed right: Bishop, the mysterious new disgruntled player mentioned at the end of the first book in this series, and Stevie, RJ's sister. These two had a bumpy start--lots of wrong perceptions and hilarious one upping of each other to provoke snarking and I was totally here for it. It was fun to know what was going on while the characters didn't and then to see them go from prickly personalities to these really warm yet somehow assholish characters. It was an interesting journey. On the one hand I thought they were both jerks at some point or another and then they'd each do something completely endearing and wonderful. Somehow it all worked and I zoomed through their book completely entertained and am now just tapping my fingers waiting for the third book in this series (King's book--and it looks to be equally entertaining!).

Helena Hunting's books are a fun, light escape from the daily grind and has definitely got me on a romcom reading kick.

I like this one better than the book about RJ. Stevie is amazing and Bishop is just so lovable because of his grumpiness and his funny 'outfits'.

Taming The Jerk
Another incredible couple to love! A fun, sexy read with a hot, moody NHL hockey player and a sassy, snarky woman who will make him work for it. Bishop may be a bit of a jerk, but you’ll fall in love with him anyway.

When the worst day of your life turns out to be the best thing to ever happen. Well, it might take some time to come to that realization, but it will be worth the wait.

Stevie is celebrating a birthday and no better way to do that than to surprise her boyfriend by arriving early. It didn’t quite go the way she planned.

Now with an ex-boyfriend and no place to go, her brother lets her stay at the penthouse his team gives him for the season. And just when things can’t get worse, she meets Bishop. He’s the jerk that lives across the hall. Let the battle of wills begin.

All Stevie has ever wanted was to make her own way in life. She doesn’t want to be riding her famous hockey player brother’s coattails or have anyone use her because of her connections. So when an opportunity arises to get ahead, she’s ready to take it, even if it means getting close to the jerk living across the hall.

Bishop has suffered a serious injury during a game. Stevie has the necessary skills to hasten his recovery. Both benefit from the agreement. He’ll help her get experience with a professional athlete and she’ll help him get back on the ice faster. It’s the best idea ever. They just need to keep it professional.

An enemies-to-friends-to-lovers rom com with so much witty banter and a slow burn that will sizzle. This author always bring characters that make me smile and fall in love. The women are independent, strong and take no crap. The men are sweet for their women and go all in. I absolutely loved this couple. This series gets better with every release.

You can’t help but love an athletically built man who walks around in his sexy underwear all the time. We should all be so lucky.

OMG I LOVED IT SO MUCH!!! Stevie is just amazing and Bishop is so freakin’ swoonworthy and precious (when he’s not being an asshole)! I just love them so much!! Their underwear war, the pizza, the banter and steaminess! And I loved seeing RJ and Lainey again and some old favorites from the Pucked series! But Stevie and Bishop’s relationship was my favorite thing about this installment - enemies to friends to more, with so much openness, comfort, and acceptance! Helena’s characters are raw and just feel so real, she truly knows how to write beautiful relationships, beyond the swoony sexiness (but those parts are incredible as well *wink*)!

Helena Hunting is back with the second book in the All In series and this book...it’s a story that never quite goes where you think it will while keeping you glued to the pages as you laugh, swoon and heat up while Stevie and Bishop circle each other in their own unique way.

This book is the embodiment of a slow burn romance. Strap yourself in for the long haul, one that is so very worth the wait. 🔥

The slow burn is hands down my favourite part of the story, okay maybe the underwear war is a close second.

I loved this story and am already itching for the next book. I just can’t get enough of these characters. This was another 5 star awesome read from this author.

Well, this was a bit of a letdown. The story itself was cute, but I didn’t buy that the main characters actually had any feelings for each other. The fact that I didn’t really like the male mc didn’t help much either.
Overall an okay read, but not as fun as the first book in the series.

Received an ARC for an honest review.

Some talk about lust/love at first sight but a misunderstanding leaves Bishop hating Stevie at first sight. The feeling quickly becomes mutual since she thinks he is a bit of a jerk.
Stevie is the sister of RJ who we met in A Lie for a Lie and Bishop is his teammate who he can’t stand.

They find themselves living across the hall from each other and a fun little game starts to begin. They taunt and tease each other, waiting for a glance and a reaction from the other.
However once they find out that they can mutually benefit each other though, the lines start to blur. This is where the real fun begins.

I really enjoyed this slow burn romance. I loved the sarcastic witty personalities and build up to see this relationship unfold. The story was sexy, fun and hilarious.
A definite must read.

Helena Hunting writes a flirty, heartfelt romance that readers will adore. A Favor for a Favor is an amazing sports romance with a feisty heroine and flirty hockey player. Stevie and Bishop are neighbors that don't get along from the jump.

Stevie is getting out of a relationship that didn't end well and finds herself living across from one of her brother's hockey teammates named Bishop. He is known to have his fair share of puck bunnies. When they meet, they do not hit it off.

Stevie is a physical therapist and is great at what she does. When Bishop needs help recovering from an injury, he seeks her help. They do a favor for a favor; she helps him with his rehab and he keeps his her ex away.

I give A Favor for a Favor 5 stars. I devoured this book and appreciated the slow burn. One of my favorite things about reading Helena's books is that she gives readers everything. She adds humor, a beautiful, complicated love story, and an authentic ending to the characters.

Not my first read by this author and have read many many of Helena’s books. This is the most perfect ENEMY-TO-LOVERS romance I have read in a while! Everything about this from the words to characters…L O V E D!!

Stevie is a woman living in a shadow, meaning her older brother who is the NFL star has always out shinned her and when he wanted the attention, Stevie did everything to be out of it. Living a life to prove to herself that she can make it on her own and not the help of her famous brother (who btw has his own book in Book #1 a lie for a lie) that said, I was excited and happy to see that Stevie was getting her own story.

The hero is Bishop who is not only a Hockey player in the same team as Stevie’s brother but neither of them know of one another. When they meet is a night that Stevie will never forget although she’d love to and Bishop was throwing out assumptions left and right. In his boxers….ONLY his boxers. That’s how it continues….only Stevie has a few tricks up her sleeve too.

When they both realize how one another is, things change and some of the clearing comes out. What happens after I DON’T WANT TO SPOIL so, I will say that there is a lot of laugh out loud moments, lots of hate to, mystery, sweetness, and the sweet sweet romance, not to mention the sexy scenes WOW on those. Everything came together so well and I couldn’t get enough!

“Sometimes we don’t see what’s right in front of us, though, do we?” I tip my chin up to meet his gaze. There are a whole lot of unspoken words there. Ones that need to remain that way.

From the first moment Stevie stumbles into Bishop’s world, they’re butting heads. He mistakenly thinks she’s a home wrecking puck bunny & she thinks he’s an egotistical, sarcastic & never fully dressed jerk. Well one of them’s right. I have to admit, it wasn’t love at first sight for me & Bishop. His grumbly, antagonistic attitude took a while to warm to, but he grew on me & ultimately won me over. This is definitely an enemies to lovers story, the initial loathing gradually turning to friendship as she helps him rehab from a painful injury & he helps rid her of a persistently slimy ex. There’s a lot of bickering & sexual chemistry brewing between these two on their way to finding love- it’s hot, swoony, flirty fun in the best slow burn kind of way.

I so needed this book! After struggling to read the last few weeks, I devoured A Favor for a Favor by Helena Hunting in one sitting. It’s everything that I absolutely love about an enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy — nonstop laugh-out-loud moments, scorching-hot chemistry, captivating banter, palpable sexual tension, compelling characters and tons of swoon-worthy romance. I can’t wait for everyone to read it when it releases on January 28. .

Going into this book I was a little nervous since I have not read the Pucked series (yes I KNOW lol) or the first book in this new series. I had nothing to worry about since this book is truly a standalone. I have loved the Helena Hunting books I have read in the past and this book was no different. Her ability to write hilarious romantic comedies is amazing and I was cracking up throughout this book. Stevie and Bishop do not get off to a good start but when Bishop injures himself, Stevie offers to help rehab him. Hilarious banter ensues and by the end you will have fallen in love with both of them. I know I will be recommending this one for weeks to come and I truly cannot wait for Kings story!

Thank you Netgalley and Montlake Romance for providing me with this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was another gem from the queen of hockey romance. A Favor for a Favor is a slowburn romance that made me fall in love with these characters almost as much as the original Pucked series characters.

Oh Helena Hunting has done it again. I think this one might have just surpassed my love for Lance and Poppy in this whole franchise! Let me back up. A Favor for a Favor is book two in the All In series which is a spin off of the Pucked series. Hockey romance for all who are unfamiliar. I have recently read almost the entire Pucked series and I have read and reviewed book one in this (All In) series, A Lie for a Lie. All of them are really good but A Favor for a Favor is truly my new favorite. I loved these characters so much.

Stevie is the younger sister of team captain, Rookie. She recently moved to Seattle after graduating college only to find her boyfriend cheating on her. Upset and completely uprooted, she goes to stay in her brothers team provided penthouse apartment. Enter her hot neighbor, broody Bishop. At first, Stevie doesn’t know that Bishop is one of her brothers teammates. He’s just the surly, rude, half naked guy from next store who won’t stop being a jerk to her. Bishop has no idea that Stevie is Rookies sister and instead thinks she’s his mistress. The pair doesn’t discover each other’s real identities until Bishop is hurt badly during the teams first exhibition game. Stevie is a physiotherapist who wants to specialize in sports rehab and she jumps on the opportunity to gain experience with a professional sports player. Wanting to get back on the ice as soon as possible, Bishop reluctantly accepts Stevies help. Their story takes off from there. Y’all this one was hilarious. Stevie is sassy and snappy and the girl can dish it out. Bishop is the perfect amount of broody and the banter between these two is perfection. I was chuckling throughout. This is a slow burn for SURE but the payoff is awesome. Overall, probably one of my favorites of the year and it’s only January!

SO MUCH FUN!!!

This is a slow burn romance (he's got a groin injury for goodness sake!) but unlike some others it doesn't feel like it. Things happen quickly, the pace keeps moving, and it's not until you're 75% through the book that you realise they're still not officially a couple. I mean, the connection is smoking hot right from the beginning, and they spend so much time together laughing and joking you don't even really notice the time passing. That is fine writing at its best.

This is also an enemies (to friends) to lovers romance. Bishop and Stevie (she's named after her father) are an amazingly snarky couple. Their banter is quick witted without resorting to nastiness or taunting, and they balance each other out brilliantly. But I also liked that they had an ability to talk things out for the most part. They way they opened up to each other in a way that they didn't with others was touching. Bishop was not portrayed as a meathead athlete, but as a truly contemporary man.

I also liked the fact that they had solid friendships outside of their relationship. Kingston seems like a standup guy, and I hope his relationship is the real deal. And contrary to some authors' beliefs, female friends don't call each other names to indicate closeness. Pattie and Jules are both strong women who honestly have Stevie's back, turning the dynamic duo into the three musketeers in a short amount of time.

The only things I didn't like about the story were RJ's (Rook's) attitude, and the fact that Bishop's taste in underwear is never explained. (Is it something his brother started as a gag that kind of turned into something more?)

Overall this was a fun and enjoyable read. Hunting is an author who improves with every story. I'm not counting down the days until her next release!

Helena Hunting scores another goal with her new hockey romance.

After finding out about her now ex-boyfriend’s extracurricular activities, Stevie Bowman is forced to accept her NHL star brother’s offer to help. Feeling down in the dumps, she moves into his spare apartment in the middle of the night, but only after meeting her new bad-tempered neighbor. She should be just fine though, if she can find it in her to avoid the gorgeous man from across the hall who picks up his newspaper in extravagant boxer briefs.

Bishop Winslow wanted the team captain position when he joined the Seattle’s NHL expansion team. However, his life and career aren’t going quiet as planned. First he gets a new noisy, sharp tongued neighbor who he thought was his team’s captain’s mistress but turned out to be his sexy sister. Then he gets put on the bench for weeks due to a serious groin injury.

Fortunately, Stevie proposes a mutually beneficial bargain: she helps him with rehab while adding a professional athlete to her resume. There’s only one catch. They need to keep it professional. It should be fairly easy for two people who seem to antagonize each other on a daily basis, right?

Hunting expertly crafts Stevie and Bishop’s relationship which evolves from mutual annoyance to a friendship, which develops into love, tiptoeing a line they know they should not cross even when they realize their potential for happiness.

I loved their banter and every single one of their interactions. They’re back and forth was hilarious and filled with sizzling hot chemistry. But what I enjoyed the most was Bishop’s transformation from @hole to swoon worthy hero. Hunting totally nails it while making me laugh and smile. While Stevie is a great heroine, she’s sweet, feisty, smart, and refuses to use any of her brother’s fame to advance her career, it was Bishop’s well hidden, gentle, soft and gooey heart that reeled me in and put this book on my favorites list.

A Favor for A Favor is a standalone hockey romance in the All In series by Helena Hunting. This is an enemies to lovers, slow burn romance, told from both points of view, with a happy ending.

After leaving her cheating ex and flying across the county, the night Stevie moves into her brother’s penthouse is not one of her finer moments. She’s disheveled, embarrassed, and frustrated. When she’s confronted by the half-naked beast of a man who lives across the hall, his attitude and general existence get under her skin immediately. When professional hockey player, Bishop pulls his groin on the ice he’s put on the bench and forced to watch from the sidelines as his team prepares for the season. When Stevie, a physical therapist, and brother to Bishop’s team captain, realizes she can help rehab Bishop and get experience with a professional athlete without using her brother’s connections to get ahead, the two put their differences aside and work together. Tensions (sexual and otherwise) run high but soon they fall into a routine and learn to appreciate and even like each other. But Bishop is grumpy and Stevie’s been hurt before, so the favors may have to stop before their feelings get the best of them.

Helena does it again! I always forget how much I love a good forced proximity trope. Add in enemies to lovers (my fave), and a sports romance, AND some cameos from my girl, Violet?? Yep, safe to say I LOVED this book! I loved Stevie’s sass and take no shit attitude just as much as Bishop’s surly and grumpy moods. It was so sweet to see how Bishop truly tried to change and work on himself as his feelings for Stevie developed and I love a couple who can can be playful and fun together.
