First, let me state I am a Helena Hunting fan. I have read just about all of her books, and her Pucked series is a personal favorite. I have been so excited about this new series that is taking place in Seattle and the inclusion of some favorite characters from the Pucked series (Alex and Violet). We have already met Rook (RJ) in A Lie for A Lie, and this book is the story of his sister Stevie. We know there is some baggage with Stevie and RJ, mainly due to RJ's rookie behavior when he was still in Chicago and the death of their dad. I liked how Helena spent some time helping us to see how both characters felt and why they seemed to be bumping heads. The adage "perspective is your reality" really comes into play here. You got to see how Stevie and RJ learned to see the other's perspective. We all tend to think about how things affect us, and learning to see things from another's viewpoint can remove barriers in relationships.
Now we have met Bishop. I love Bishop; he is not smooth; he is not necessarily a nice guy. He's just an introvert who plays hockey. He loves the game, but he doesn't enjoy the other stuff that goes with it, and he avoids it. I like he's not this angry guy with a damaged past. He's just Bishop. He doesn't get along with RJ; they have just not hit it off. Add to this his introvert quirkiness and miscommunication with Stevie off the bat, and we have the beginning of a great story.
Stevie and Bishop get together by her, helping him with an injury and leading to humorous situations and the honest friendship that develops. Stevie is not put off by Bishop's blunt personality. To not get into spoiler territory, I will leave this here to say that it is a pleasure watching Bishop try to woo Stevie and not mess up. What is sweet is Stevie is aware that Bishop struggles with "romance" and embraces what he puts out there. I hope we will get to spend more time with Stevie and Bishop as the series progresses. We have met another member of the team I hope to be learning more about in the future.
I am enjoying the characters of this series, they are not the iconic bunch of the Pucked series, but they are memorable. Bishop is a new fav, and I enjoyed his awkwardness in social situations, and his thought processes as he tried to navigate those situations. His first encounter with Violet Waters had me laughing so hard. Poor guy didn't know what to do with her. I am happy Violet is there, and she has a whole new slew of players to embarrass. These poor guys don't know what to do as she's the coach's wife, and Alex is now a more gruff character. The gruffness is due to age, and he is now the head coach of the hockey team, and his stage of life has changed. Seeing the growth of Alex and Violet only endears them to the reader, and they are truly loved characters. Thank you, Helena, for bringing them to Seattle.
You cannot go wrong with any of Helena's books, and this is an adorably sweet addition to her series. I am so looking forward to getting to know this team better.

"A Favor for a Favor" is the 2nd installement featuring Stevie, sister of RJ Bowman (main character of the 1st book "A lie for a lie").
Stevie, a colorful and little bit hot mess, meets Bishop, bossy, snarky and sexy as hell... unfortunately also a teammate of her brother and her new neighbour.

What follows is a funny, romantic story with a lot of enjoyful banters.

Loved it.

This is book two in a new hockey series and it's so good. I love that we get a Pucked spinoff.

This was a bit enemies to friends to lovers. The banter was amazing. The chemistry sizzling hot.

My only complaint is that we didn't get ice action. I love when hockey romance also include hockey action.

I will be talking about this book in my What to Read Next Podcast - Top Hockey Romances coming up November 14, 2019.

Helena has completely stolen my heart with this new book!! I devoured A Favor For A Favor in one afternoon. This new series is becoming a new addiction!

The feisty, spirited banter mixed with the broken, quiet souls of this couple is going to melt you into a puddle of goo. Bishop and Stevie are two pieces of a puzzle that didn't know they came from the same box, but once they figure out they fit together the picture is breathtaking.

Bishop doesn't exactly have great people skills, but for a hockey player that's not a skill he needs on the ice so it's not one he's ever worked on off the ice. When a pink haired, hot mess moves in across from him late one night his less than stellar personality welcomes her to the floor.

When Stevie catches her boyfriend cheating, her brother, Rook (Captain of the new Seattle expansion hockey team) offers up the apartment he wasn't using anyway. What he didn't mention was his grouchy neighbor that doesn't seem to own clothes because he only ever greets her in ridiculous looking boxer briefs.

When Bishop and Stevie begin a neighbor war (LOL hilarious moments) that eventually transforms into a different kind of war when he needs help after injuring himself. Why is it a different kind of war...when chemical attraction is involved and professional jobs are at stake the battle of wills begin. Who will crack first?

Bishop is missing tact and yet he is still so relatable. I adore him for his awkward, tackless, blunt personality more than any other character. He fits so well with Stevie who understands him, doesn't judge him for his personality or make him feel bad for it. He also understands her and how she fits into the sports life. They are such a unique, honest, and absolutely perfect pair!

A Favor for a Favor is the second book in Helena Hunter's All In series, which is a spin-off of her Pucked series, and follows Rook's (main character from A Lie for a Lie) younger sister Stevie and teammate Bishop. The two meet when Stevie moves in to Rook's empty apartment, which is across from Bishop's, after finding out her boyfriend is cheating on her, and immediately decide that they don't like each other.

Bishop doesn't like Stevie off the bat because he thinks she's his married teammates mistress (it's her brother), and since Bishop is rude to her, Stevie doesn't like him either and keeps antagonizing him. The two have to start working together when Bishop gets injured during a hockey game. He wants to get back to playing as quickly as he can, so in addition to doing physical therapy with his team's physician, he's also working with Stevie.

This book was so fun. It was a hate to friends to love story, which in turn means it was pretty slow burn. I loved reading about how Stevie and Bishop tried to get on each other's nerves and antagonize each other as much as they could. I also loved seeing their relationship progress to more after they start spending more and more time together.

I was super frustrated at how Stevie didn't set any boundaries with her ex, and let him continuously walk all over her and get too close to her physically, and keep talking to her. I know that this character had to be pushy because it was part of a plot point of the story, but I just wish Stevie was able to stand up for herself more in that situation. Besides this I didn't have any issues with the story and loved everything else about it!

Like every other Hunting book I've read, I binge read this one as quick as I could and could barely put it down (even when it was late and I could barely keep my eyes open). A Favor for a Favor also has Hunting's humor, which had me laughing out loud throughout the novel. Helena Hunting is officially an autobuy author for me, and I can't wait to read what she publishes next!

I have fallen in love with Helena Hunting’s writing. She has a way of creating these characters that make you fall in love with them and their weird sass.

A Favor for a Favor doesn’t seem like a normal romance to begin with. Stevie was a poor sweet tortured child. HAHAHAHA I didn’t even believe myself. She was a badass, taking names and not letting her brother’s name make a path for her. She was determined to not make headway at her job, a job she was good at, on her own.

Despite being cheated on and pushed down by her “boyfriend”, on her birthday no less, she bounced back and became Flubber.

SIDE NOTE: If y’all don’t know about Flubber, y’all are either way too young to be reading this book or y’all haven’t been introduced to the joy that is Robin Williams and a ball of sentient green goo with enormous amounts of elasticity and kinetic energy.

Bishop was a damn asshole and honestly, I was here for it. He wasn’t hiding who he was and he wasn’t into Stevie. Not at first. She was hot, yeah he could acknowledge that. But he didn’t want to have any semblance of a relationship at all. But then he met Stevie and started talking to her and got to know her and I loved it.

The relationship between Bishop and Stevie was goals. I loved it. And there wasn’t anything stupid about it. To tell you the truth I can’t wait for the next one.

Thank you netgalley for providing this is ARC in exchange for an honest review.
While this novel had several humorous moments, I felt it lacked that sweet romantic element. Stevie stays at her brother's apartment and is confronted by the hero who lives next door and mistakes her for a mistress. I was completely repulsed by the hero who acts like a brainless asshole and parades most of the time in his underwear. Even when he finds out she's not her brother's mistress his behavior doesn't improve. Just couldn't get into this one.

“And how does Bishop look at me?”
“Like he wants to hold your hand.” She pauses, her smile widening at my eye roll. “And shove it down the front of his pants.”

Enjoyable slow burn hockey romance from Helena Hunting. Stevie is RJ’s (hero from A Lie for a Lie) little sister, but she doesn’t want to be known as that. Bishop is RJ’s teammate, but he also doesn’t want to be known as that. All jokes aside this one starts with a misunderstanding, some barely dressed morning strut off, and a bruised crotch. Really the book does have those things, but it’s more about a slow burn love story between two people who were not looking to fall for each other and did. Slowly but oh so surely!

Well I couldn't wait so this book had to be bumped up my reading list and I was happy with Helena yet again..I loved my Pucked series, loooooved it. So when I saw that Helena had a new hockey series I was definitely going to jump and read and so far my friends so good. In this one we have Rooks sister whom we met in A lie for a lie, and I liked her then, but loved her here and was happy that she didn't jump back with her cheating ex..Huh hated him. The first interaction with Stevie and Bishop cracked me, poor Stevie was a hot mess! but all is good by the middle and end and was so happy to read about Violet as crazy as always, and my Alex!...Next please!

In typical Helena Hunting fashion, a Favor for a Favor has all the humor and feels we look forward to in her writing. As the second book in the All In series, it also has the perfect balance of honesty, intensity and fun in a sports romance.

Stevie is Rook Bowman's sister who we met in A Lie for a Lie. As we also learned in the first book, Bishop is the NHL player that Rook beat out for the captain's position on the new expansion team in Seattle where Alex Waters (Pucked Series, book one) is the coach.

It kicks off with Stevie and Bishop having an awkward version of a meet-cute at a point where Stevie is at her lowest and Bishop is being the worst version of himself. Stevie is trying to make her way as a physiotherapist without relying on her brother's name for professional gain and Bishop is fighting to secure a future for himself and someone he cares for. The misunderstandings that lead up to the exchange of favors are both hilarious and awkward as only Helena Hunting can write.

The book addresses real life problems and insecurities that humanizes the characters and makes them relatable to the average reader. Neither of them are perfect and learning what drives them is what makes this book better than your average sports romance.

Be prepared to laugh and FEEL with this book. I promise you won't regret it and it'll only leave you wanting more. If you're also a fan of Helena's Pucked series, you'll thoroughly enjoy experiencing Alex Waters as a coach and his wife Violet being her awkward and wonderful self.

This series is incredible! I might love this one more than A Lie for a Lie..and I really liked that one.
This one is about Stevie, a physiotherapist, and Bishop, a NHL player. What ensures between this two is magnetic.
The humor is deliciously naughty. The characters are out of this world. Storyline is perfection.
These are stand-alones but interconnected.
I highly recommend this one...well all of Helena Hunting’s books for that matter.

I always enjoy Helena Hunting’s books and A Favor for a Favor is no different. It’s sassy, funny and sweet. I don’t even watch hockey but she always manages to get me to fall in love with her hockey heroes. Great book!

Overall rating-⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I have to confess that I have not yet read the first book so I had no idea what I was getting into but I liked the blurb and have to thank netgalley and montlake publication for this amazing ARC of the second book in the brand new series.
I didn't think I would like this book as much as I did but I had it on "good authority" that the hero was a 'dick'. A 'lovable dick' but a dick none the less. Which in fact led me to start reading this as soon as I was approved and I was in for a pleasant surprise. I loved it from the very first to very the end. I couldn't stop reading it! This book is just too wonderful for words filled with entertaining characters, witty banter, lots of chemistry, sexual innuendoes, a very dick-ish(but sweet) hockey playing, underwear wearing -hero and an equally lovely heroine who just met her match in her neighbour.
This books had dual POV's and it was quiet fun to be introduced to all these lovable characters. I haven't read the first book yet and I know that you all love RJ from book one but in this second book he was an annoying older brother and nothing else. I just wanted to shake him most of the time. Well, hope to read the first book soon becuase some of the reviewers said that I am gonna love it.
Anyways this book starts with our lovely leading lady Stevie coming home to her boyfriend on her birthday and finding him balls deep into another woman. I repeat,on her birthday. This senario sucked and I felt really sorry for that girl but bless RJ for providing his condo to his sister for the time being and this is how Stevie and Bishop met for the first time. But it was not 'meet cute' but rather cringe worthy first meet in the history of first impressions. Bishop thought RJ was cheating on his wife and Stevie is actually his mistress. So as a man with high morals he decided on spot that he hated her on spot and insulted her by referring to her face as an absolute "boner-killer" *cringe*. This situation goes down as expected. They end up hurling mean insults at each other in the wee hours of the night and decided that they both hated each other. And thus the-who-can-get-a-rise-outta-the-other game and who-can-insult-the-other-most games began. But there was a chemistry between them. These two were like matches ready to strike. And though they both hated the other, their attraction towards one another was an object of distraction for these two. Bishop was irratated that he felt so strongly attracted towards RJ's mistress(supposed)and Stevie couldn't believe that such a fine looking specimen of human male could be so rude and infuriating. Before their morning newspaper games and exchange of insults and barely there inuendo could go down any further, Bishop had a terrible accident during a game and Stevie being a good neighbour helps him out. But Bishop won't be Bishop if he didn't manage to insult the girl while she was helping him out and finally he gets to know the fact that Stevie is in fact RJ's sister.
Anyways lots of apologies and pizzas later, they both their act straight and came to an mutual beneficial agreement. Stevie would help Bishop as a professional physiotherapist to heal quick from his groin injury(trust me that was painful to read about) and in turn Stevie gets to add Bishop as a client to help her career without any help from her brother. A win-win situation. But late night hangouts, easy conversations and ofcourse being close to one another made them realise that they had something going on here other than Bishop's hard on which was in fact very painful. On the top of that Stevie's Ex-boyfriend didn't make their situation any easier. That dude was a total clingy d-bag and was a pathetic excuse of a boyfriend. He never deserved such a sweet, talented, loyal girl like Stevie and he sure tried to manipulate and sabotage her budding relation with Bishop.
What happens next? That you have to read and find out for yourself. I am very lucky to have received this ARC and I can't wait for the next book in this series. I am pretty sure whose story will be next and I am pretty sure what it will be about. Anyways this book consists of loads of humor, laughter, inuendos, douchy bfs,over-protective brothers, best girlfriends that one can have and ofcourse a very sweet, entertaining enemies-to-friends-to-lovers story between two very loveable characters. But apart from that it discusses the fact of whats it like to grow under the shadow of someone you love and simultaneously hating them for it. And also whats it like to live with diabetes. Honestly Bishop was such a sweetie and a great brother too.

My favourite part of the book is hard to pin point. I probably loved all of it. Watching Stevie and Bishop fall for one another made me feel giddy. Firstly,it was attraction then that started to bllom into witty banters and teasing the other. It wasn't until the therapy that they both became really close and it was evident to all that these two are dangerously close to falling for each other if they haven't at the point.
I highly recommend for you to read this. If you are a Helena Hunting fan,if are not a Helena hunting fan or have never read any of her books then its safe to say that you will be after reading this one. Though this book is in a series but it can be read as a standalone(just like I did).
Until next time ....happy reading!!❤
PS. I agree with my source. Bishop is a absolutely loveable 'dick' and weirdly I looked forward to his underwears as much as our girl Stevie🤭
PSS. I loved the heading of the chapters. They were so fun to read!

"“I can’t imagine my life without you and your ridiculous underwear in it.”

“Good, because me and my underwear are yours forever now.”"

A Favor for a Favor is the second installment in Helena Hunting's new All-In series which functions as a Pucked spin-off. After meeting Rookie RJ Rook in the first book and following his love story with Lainey, this second book follows his sister Stevie. Fresh out of physiotherapy school and Stevie is just about to start a new job when she finds her boyfriend cheating on her on her birthday. She goes to stay at her brother's penthouse apartment after the world's worst day and is accosted by her angry and disgruntled but incredibly hot neighbor Bishop.

They continue with this hostile back and forth as Bishop assumes RJ is cheating on his wife and Stevie just can't understand what his problem is. They continue this cat and mouse game until Bishop learns Stevie is RJ's sister and it just so happens Rook and Bishop cannot stand one another. Then Bishop takes a nasty hit on the ice and is left with a devastating groin injury. He's desperate to get back on the ice and prove himself to the team. Just so happens Stevie is desperate to rehab a professional player so she can build her portfolio on her own merits without having to use her brother's connections. They strike a deal - she rehabs him extra at home to build her experience and he gets the extra PT he needs to get back on the ice as quick as possible. It's just a favor for a favor...what could possibly go wrong?

Ahh I love a good enemies to lovers romance. This one is a SLOW BURN but its laced with so much sexual tension and angst that it is so worth it when it finally pays off. Bishop is prickly and can be hard to deal with and needs someone like Stevie to call him on his shit. She speaks her mind and doesn't let his ever shifting moods get her down. We also get cameos from RJ and Lainey and Alex and Violet so as always I love when these characters continue to intersect in one another's lives! This one isn't out till Jan 2020 but I'm already dying to see who the third book will be about (I think I have an idea...) // ☕☕☕☕

Thank you to Amazon Publishing and Montlake Romance for sending me a complimentary copy to review! All opinions are my own!

4.5 Stars - I recommend if you enjoy hate-to-love contemporary romances.

When Stevie moves to Seattle to find her boyfriend sleeping with someone else, in their new apartment, on her birthday, she's hit rock bottom. When her NHL captain brother offers her his pent house apartment, she jumps at the chance to be away from her cheating ex. When she meets the jerk across the hall, she thinks things can't get worse. Bishop was cheated out of captain for their new team by RJ Bowman, and now there's a hot mess woman living in his apartment. When he finds out that this woman is not his mistress, but his sister everything changes. When Bishop is in a bad accident on the ice, his chances of meshing with his new team are low. Luckily, Stevie is a physical therapist, and she's willing to help him work on his injury to get back on the ice sooner. Can they keep it platonic despite their teasing and close proximity?

I really loved A Lie for A Lie and was so excited when I got a copy of this one! This book started off super super super funny. I immediately loved both Stevie and Bishop. He's SO annoying. Such a jerk, and she doesn't take any of it, so their hate-to-love chemistry is amazing. The sick and needing nursed back to health trope is one that I really enjoy, so this was a fun but very painful twist on that. I loved all of the PT stuff after his injury. It was equal party steamy and hysterically funny. I loved that this was such a slowburn love story and seeing how the characters grew and opened up to each other over time. I continue to love the team and family dynamics in this series, and am excited to see where it goes! I hope that the next book in the series is about King. He's adorable.

A Favor for a Favor is book 2 in this series and it was so great! It held everything a friends to lovers book should. Stevie was a great character in book 1 so I was happy she got her own story in this one. Her slow burn of a relationship with Bishop from their bad first encounter to friends to more had me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put the book down! 5 HUGE stars!

4.5 Stars!

A Favor for a Favor was exactly what I was hoping it was going to be when I picked it up. It was an upbeat romantic comedy filled with some great banter. I liked pretty much everything about it. To be be more specific...

My favorite things about this book were:

*Helena Hunting's writing was at it's best. A Favor for a Favor was the perfect mix of funny and sweet. It had it's over the top moments, but they weren't too crazy. They were fun. The entire plot was well done and entertaining.
*Stevie was a cool chick. I loved that she wanted to live outside her brother's famous hockey player status and make it on her own.
*The descriptions of Stevie's ex Joey were perfectly gross.
*Bishop was a grumpy a-hole that was somehow lovable. His attitude didn't make him that much of a jerk, though. The reason he was how he was made sense. I appreciated his self-awareness. Plus, he was a big old softy under all that grump.
*The cameos!

There were only 2 things that rubbed me a little wrong while reading this book:

*A Lie for a Lie made me fall in love with Rook. The majority of this book made me see him in a different light, and it wasn't good. It was hard to merge those two perceptions of him. Although, it did get easier once everything went down and I had more understanding of his attitude. I guess that made up for it.
*There was one point where I just wanted to tell Stevie to get over her insecurities. What happened was pretty predictable, but it all made sense so I guess I can't complain too much about it.

Overall, A Favor for a Favor was a fantastic sports romantic comedy. It is definitely one of my favorite books by Hunting. I hope this series just gets better and better. I'm really wanting a book about Kingston next!

Loved this book!! Stevie and Bishop's story is great! They really make you feel the angst in the slow build up of their relationship. Their chemistry is electric! Great read.

Totally 5 stars! Thank you NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this really good book by Helena Hunting.

A Favor for A Favor was very funny and steamy; however, the plot in the first few chapters were, in my point of view, slow not too much action that engaged me; however, thank God I kept reading because it got WAY better, so better that I wanted to slap or punch Bishop and Joey.. The book was really easy to read and to enjoy. Character development was wonderful, exceptional. Every one of them had a personality well explained and easy to get and feel their emotions and feelings.

My favorite characters are Stevie and Kingston. She's feisty, sarcastic, doesn't have filter, tells things how they are. I like that, even though she has flaws, she's also strong. In terms of male characters, Kingston, aka King, is my one to go as fave. He's such a nerdy man but lovable and funny guy. You will totally love his dorkiness and innocence. There is one thing I have to admit, I fell in love with Bishop; he is.... well, Bishop; i wanted to kill him but he did grow on me not because he's handsome, sexy, man with a BEAUTIFUL body but he can be nice man when he wants to. I definitely said out loud "I want to be the olive to your pineapple." This was one of the sweetest thing you'll read in this book.

“My whole world is better with you in it, [Helena Hunting].” Believe me, if i have to write a review in two words, it would be hilariously sweet.
