An look at the life of this member of royalty wish little is known. From childhood to her unhappy marriage to a man she called pigs snout and her adult life as a princess in a gilded cage.Interesting entertaining read,#netgalley#penn&sword
A look at some one that may not have a lot sourced around her. Does play on her troubles in childhood and adult life. Good sourcing and descriptions of what was going on in her life and those around her that played apart in it.
I didn't really get on with this book as from the beginning I felt that the flip, conversational tone seemed to trivialise these events which really isn't what I personally look for in non fiction accounts. There also seemed to be a lot of repetition when it came to description of historical figures and how they have been remembered in the passage of time or via written accounts. Eventually this felt grating, like a poor attempt at padding word count. The writing style would be very much at home on television, where facts are repeated after commercials and the material is presented simply but with dramatic flair so certainly will suit other readers.
I'm still intrigued by these events though and will certainly seek out more information on the subject that is maybe a bit more analytical.
An interesting look into one of the most underrated members of royalty, this novel is action packed! Written in a funny but historic way, The Imprisoned Princess details one of the forgotten miscarriages of justice.
