First off that ending - you what!
Other than the ending I did enjoy this book. I loved Mace, it would be hard not to.
Cora's character is interesting and she truly develops through the book.
The storyline of vampires, vampire blood and other magical persons has a good blend. Mace and Cora definitely have a connection. Their connection and current situation puts them in danger at times.
All in all not a bad read, but that ending.. I take it the story continues!
3.75 stars

This book was full of suspense and intriguing storyline. I am looking forward to the next books. The characters were great

I found this book to be fine. I think if you like insta-lust and supernatural mates then you will love this book. The plot is interesting and I like the characters. I wish more of a relationship was built between the main characters before they had sex (but I think this is my own personal thing). My romance tastes are changing and I think that's why this didn't hit the mark for me, but if you love supernatural/paranormal, steamy romances you will love this.

When I read a book, I expect to have closure at least for the primary conflict in the book. I have no problem with loose threads leading to sequels, but give me a solid ending for the story I'm in right now. I absolutely hate it when an author gives only part of a story, holding the rest hostage so that you have to buy the next book to have a complete tale. It is the quickest way to guarantee I never read another book in the series.

I have always had a weakness for the paranormal romance genre. When I realized that this book was playing into that, I was so ready to read this book and now I am hooked to continue the series. I mean Kiersten Fay delivers the paranormal with vampires, witches, ghosts, hexes, blood bonds, and so much sexual tension of course I am going to continue this series.
Kiersten Fay does a great job setting up the world that we are entering in this series. She lays the foundation of not only the war and the state of the world currently, but builds interest into Cora's background. There are so many questions that I have about her bloodline and that is one of the things that has me so ready to pick up the next book in the series. I need all my questions answered. There is also a great balance in this book of actually developing the characters present, some of that is the result of the multiple POVs that are given. All that being said, I honestly could have used more spice at times. This was advertised to me as an erotic novel and while it had its moments, I was left wanting more.

Honestly i had a hard time getting into this book. It was a good story, but the grammar was off-putting to me. I will definitely be giving this author another shot, though.

Feel really let down by this book. The story starts off getting you attention but quickly fails to hold it.

It has been a while since I've tried vampire romance novels, but this sounded interesting so I thought I'd give it a try again. I really liked the premise and history of the world with the vampire/human/witch interactions. I also really liked the relationship between Coraline and Mason. What I didn't like is that the more I read the less and less it seemed like a romance novel, it felt more like a one sided relationship with Mason tied metaphysically and Coraline only half in it. I also did NOT like at all that it ended so abruptly and unnecessarily without an ending to the story. That threw the whole thing off as being a series I want to keep following.

Coraline “Cora” Gordon was going to meet her husband wearing sexy lingerie. As Coraline appears at the hotel where her husband is staying, she witnesses him cheating on her. Just as Cora thinks his cheating is the worst thing that could happen to her the Vampire Enforcement Agency or VEA, show up holding a gun in her face. Cora sees the VEA kill her husband. Cora is not only shocked but now needs protection. Mason the vampire who is part of the VEA and one of the guys that killed her husband decides to take care of her. Cora and Mason are on the run which inexplicably binds her to him. Luckily, numerous attempts to harm them both finally cease and they reach a safe house. Things still aren’t really all that safe because there is Knox who doesn’t like either of them who also becomes bound to Cora as well. As both Knox and Mason fight to keeps Cora alive they also need her blood to sustain them without both falling in love with her.
This paranormal romance book just is non-stop action from beginning to end, never slowing down until the end. Unfortunately, the book also ends in a cliff-hanger leaving a lot to be answered but it seems the rest of the series will answer all the burning questions. Coraline the innocent naïve heroine at first seems believable in her unpretentiousness, as the story progresses though Cora’s attitude almost becomes tedious and grating, making one wonder if she truly is unaware of who she really is and her pureness. Mason at first the harsh mean hero is hard to take too one moment he dislikes Cora but then wants her and pretty soon they are in bed so the relationship doesn’t seem true and in a sense there is the anticipation that he will leave her when the sex becomes boring. Then there is Knox who is not really well-developed yet but his hate is obvious and felt. So this whole love triangle feels like everyone needed to get naked and just have a ménage a trois. Still the book is enjoyably readable and yes there is a strong possibility to finish the rest of the series just to see what happens to everyone.

I think I would give this 3.5 stars. A great romp of a story, which made me check out the next few books in the series, but the word choice and grammar really jarred me, it looks like there was no editing of this book at all, the rest of the books are even worse in this regard. It is breathe not breath is is due, not do, and on and on and on.
The first book is exciting and interesting with a naive poor woman, married to a rich man in an alternate world where Vampires and humans have been involved in a war, and now live in a truce state, but lots of infrastructure has been destroyed and humans who are poor have none of the trappings of modern life such as mobile phones and internet etc. Cora is married to a rich man, and she is unsettled, as he has become distant from her, and she is worried she will go back to living on the streets and being prey for predatory men.
When her husband is killed she discovers she has been spied on by a vampire from the Vampire Enforcement Agency, Mason, who is tracking the people who have kidnapped a vampire colleague, Brayden, and seem to be selling his blood.
Mason forces her to go on the run with him, and they find themselves increasingly attracted to each other, when they arrive at a safe house, they become closer, and their relationship seems to develop well, however they become accidentally bonded to each other, when another vampire Kyle turns up, tracking an evil spirit that has been imprisoned at the house, this throws a grenade into the burgeoning relationship between Mason and Cora, and when she also accidentally is bonded to Kyle, things get worse. Kyle completely distrusts Cora, and makes life very difficult whilst also needing to feed from her.
There is a subplot involving a previous ménage a trios Kyle and Mason were in that resulted in the death of their partner Elizabeth, due to the influence of a succubus on Kyle, and they all have to work together to recapture the succubus.
This was an exciting start to the series, and I really enjoyed it, but as the story develops through the next two books, I didn’t enjoy the story arc as much. I hope that some of the loose ends are tied up through a future instalment.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and all opinions are my own.

This is the first book I've read by Kiersten Fay.My first time reading her work but was so impressed, Wicked Hunger is a riveting, imaginative, fast-paced, full-length paranormal saga filled to the brim with compelling drama, Can't wait for number 2 in the series

Wow, this reminded me why I use to love Vampire novels.... it’s been a long time since I’ve read any and am glad I was able to get this one, because I am going to read the next two books in the series about Mace, Cora and Knox .....good read if you like Vampires

This book was slow going for me. I put this book down numerous times and that is not something I usually do. There were parts that I felt really could have been left out because they were repetitive and kept the plot from moving forward. This whole story, I swear was just the three of them sitting in this cottage. The story is going . . . The plot is leading to . . . I really don't know. It had potential in the beginning when Cora was running from assassins but when they got to the cottage, it all kinda stalled. It even left with a horrible cliffhanger. Not even a 'Bomom bom bom' kind of Cliffie, but a 'WTF' does that mean? Overall, it's not enough for mean to continue on my interest to find out what happens.
** I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review. **

A very good paranormal romance story. Kept me on edge and was a hard book to put down. Leaving it with a cliffhanger and eagerly wanting to read more about the story of Cora and Mace. And where will the story lead with Knox and Cora. Seriously good.

Kiersten Fay's paranormal romances are always addictive, and I like the triangle in this one. The cliffhanger is killing me though...I need to know what happens next!

I'll start by saying that I didn't realise that this book would end on a cliffhanger. I gathered as I neared the end that that was the way that it might be going, but up until then, I hadn't known.
Coraline has had a hard life. After her marriage, she thought that things might be on the up, but when her husband firstly doesn't seem that interested in her and then gets murdered, it's clear that she isn't about to have an easier time soon. She finds herself under the care of a vampire, she had unpleasant experiences with his kind in her youth and is now terrified of what might happen. Mason is a different kind of vampire and she soon begins to realise that she can trust him.
This book did feature something that seems to happen in a lot of similar books in this genre, she has powers and a past that she had no idea about and through the course of this book, she is only just beginning to learn about them. I don't always like this as a plot, as it's been done so many times. It does mean that it makes describing the world that she finds herself in a little easier and I did enjoy much of the rest of the story, so I'll let it go.
I liked the romance between Mason and Coraline. I'm not sure where it's going to go in the next book, but so far so good. I assume that Knox will play a greater role in the future and possibly at least one other vampire that has been mentioned. Really not sure other than that where it's going to go.
I will say that this one did keep me guessing. On more than one occasion it seemed to disappear in a different direction than I had been expecting. In some ways, the previous events seem to almost have been forgotten about. Little is made of her marriage or loss of her husband or what was going on there. This might simply be because it is something that will come up again in later books. Overall, this was a good read. I want to know what happens next, but I'm not diving straight into the next book, I think I can wait a little while
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This book was sent to me for an honest review. Unfortunately, I wasn't as enthralled with Mace & Cora as I was with Naia and Cortez in Keeping His Siren. It started out pretty good. I was into the whole Vampire/Human attraction story. However, things changed and book took a different turn. I can't say that I'd want to go further with Mace, Cora and Knox. as I didn't feel connected to them. This book's supernatural slant mixed in with what is definitely going to be 3-way love story, just wasn't my vibe. I also didn't like that it had a cliffhanger, forcing the reader the purchase additional books.

What an awesome book! I love this author and the storyline and characters in this book were wonderfully imaginative ive. Highly recommended!

Cora, sweet Cora. Wanting nothing more than to escape her past (the life she lived, poor and alone). When she met her husband she couldn't believe he wanted her, her out of everyone/anyone he could have. The attraction was there in the very beginning it was strong and she knew she cared for him but he has pulled back. Wanting to surprise her husband and maybe spice up their love life she shows up at work in a sexy outfit. Once there all hell breaks loose.
Mace was assigned to this case, he was watching Winston and his wife Cora. Cora had grabbed his attention for more reasons than he would like to admit. When he realizes that she is sitting here in front of him as he was watching her husband, it upsets him. Mace and Cora wind up running, for both their lives. Someone wants her dead, yet we don’t know who or why. Mace discovers a lot about Cora as Cora discovers a lot about herself and her past. A lot of things she never knew. I can not wait to learn more of her past and what it means now.
Knox, oh Knox. You bad vampire! I am intrigued with him though. I’m wondering, is he good or bad? Does he know more than Mace and Cora? Who is the mystery woman? This story had me all wrapped up in it, book hangover for sure! I haven't had one of these reads in awhile. I want more!!! Left me hanging but it's all good…..This is everything I love in paranormal romance read…..vampires, witches and ghosts oh my!!!!
Go get lost in this book tonight!!

Coraline was a girl from the wrong side of the tracks when she meets her husband to be. He seems well-off and showers her with attention and possessions. After the marriage his whole personality changes. He has no time for her. One night she decides she wants to spice up their love life and goes to see him at work in sexy lingerie and a trench coat but doesn't expect what she finds.
As she goes to knock on his office door, she is dragged back into another office.. This is where we meet Mason, AKA Mace and Trent whom work for an agency and are investigating Cora's husband for possibly selling Black Market Vampire blood.. At the same time her husband is killed by the bad guys. They also find out Cora's home has been broken into by people looking for something. They decide Cora needs a safe house and she and Mace are now on the run trying to keep her safe..
This is how the book starts and I was really liking it. Every time they think they are safe, their location is found out and they go off running again. Cora is very needy but really because of lack of life experiences. Although she did start to grow I think it should have happened sooner. I loved Mason and of course the attraction between he and Cora. were great. Some of the other characters? Didn't like Trent very much but I think his whole story hadn't been revealed yet. I also liked Know, a friend of Mace's. He is a big, hot Vampire and I bet he has a heck of a story!
The worst for me? It ends in a cliffhanger. I never would have asked to read this book if I had realized that. I read a lot of books and I don't know how much of a story I am going to remember when the next part comes out 6 months later.
I received this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
