More Madcap Shenanigans.....
More madcap shenanigans in South Herewardshire in the sequel to Murder To Die For. Skeletons (in and out of the cupboard), gossip, rumours, long lost manuscripts and murder accusations abound in this witty, satirical, farcical whodunnit. All good fun.
A murder mystery, but an entertaining a funny one. For the most part.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the eARC copy
A weird, light and entertaining read that made me laugh more than once.
It's full of quirky characters and peculiar humour, the plot kept my attention and the characters are interesting.
I look forward to reading other books by this author.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
A very peculiar read indeed. One can get their head twisted and screwed (pun intended) off at every page. A small village is full of mischief: dead soldiers, animal rights activits, sex enthusiasts walking school grounds… Oh, my.
However, the read is utterly enjoyable. You can never be sure that 'this is it', you got the fill of excitement and quirkiness. Once you settle into narrative, you get a surprise or even a shock.
A very light and quick read. Definitely a book for train travel or waiting for your laundry to finish
Characters are fun and colourful, even the bad guys and girls.
A whodunit with taste, manners and English village essense in the best sense possible
Enjoy
This book was not really my cup of tea. It was occasionally funny, and contained two mysteries, but I didn’t enjoy the crudeness. The mysteries and how they were solved were interesting, but there was too much extraneous detail for my taste. This didn’t leave room for any of the characters to be explored in depth, leaving the story rather tedious to me. I’m sure it would appeal more to other people.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
