This is just the extract, but from what I've read it has a strong beginning that sets up the world and the main character(s). It gives enough backstory and mystery that I'm definitely going to pick this up when it is released. From what I can see, I like the writing as well. Easy to follow and comprehend.

This gorgeous cover is what initially drew me in, but the story definitely did not disappoint. After only reading the couple of chapters, I am in love with the world building, atmosphere and magical feel of Havenfall. This short sample wasn't enough for me to fall in love with the characters- but I can already tell I am going to adore Brekken. Overall, I am so much more excited for this title now and can't wait to read the full thing!

This was an extract from the book & not the complete ARC of the book. It contained the prologue & the 1st chapter. The start of the book is so interesting & mysterious that I was left feeling so so intrigued & now I desperately want to read what happens ahead.

Exciting, can't wait to read the full story. I loved her duology, Everless and can't wait to get stuck into this one.

So the publisher provided 2 chapters from this book. The first few pages were really confusing, and I just couldn't understand what was going on in the story. The story started making sense after 40% and then I understood that Haven was this crossroad between magical realms. It existed on Earth only but it was a place very few visited and those who did forgot about it, when they left the town, natives/locals of the town were exceptions.. so ya I kind of liked the idea of Haven and I was interested in reading about it. It kind of was a place that Maddie used to escape from her "dad and his wife" . If the story develops some magical element where the main protaganist gets to interact with magic herself would be great.
From what I could get from the relations of Maddie was that, she missed her mother and brother. Her dad re-married and no more wanted to take responsibility of his daughter actively, and even judged her for what he thought of Maddie's biological mother. Even her uncle whom she called at Haven to pick her up, seemed to not really care about her? The bus driver cared more for sure.

First few chapters had me hooked! Will definitely look out for it when released. These chapters were more about place setting and introductions but they already had me wanting to read more.

This short excerpt of two chapters was very intriguing. I cannot wait to dive into the complete book. The writing style is very interesting and easy to read. The mysteries are just asking to be solved when the whole book is released!

Very intrigued to keep reading! The first two chapters perfectly set up a part contemporary- part fantasy YA novel and I cannot wait to find out where Maddie's summer in Haven goes next.

OK so I just read the extract for this on NetGalley and I loved it. The only problem now is that I need more! I loved the premise, I loved the start of the story that I read in the generous extract, and I can't wait to see where it goes. Also there's a bit of a queer vibe too and I am here for it.

I was initially intrigued by the concept of ‘Havenfall’ and the author totally pulled it off. This was intriguing and honestly, I was hooked.

So this is going to be short like the extract.
I can see why this novel is gaining a huge amount of attention. It feels like it could go towards the fantastical, based upon the lake and the obvious magic thats to come. But I also feel it could go the other way too, being that it could be droll and like a lot of other things i have read recently. We shall see when it launches next year.

This extract hooked me! Thank you, NetGalley for providing this amazing book. I'll definitely read the whole book when it comes out.

I loved this so much and cannot wait for the full book, I was hooked from the first line, roll on March . Thank netgalley and the author/ publisher for a chance to read an excerpt.

I didnt realise this was just an extract when I requested! The bit I read was good, cant wait to read the rest!

I absolutely loved reading this extract! I can't wait to read the full book! Thank you so much NetGalley.

whilst I only had an extract, I thoroughly enjoyed it and am hooked. excited to read the full copy when its out!

Huge Thank you to NetGalley and Bloomsbury for this Extract! I really enjoyed this and cannot wait to get a full copy to read!

I enjoyed this Excerpt so much! I cannot wait until the book releases so I can get my hands on the whole thing. I really enjoyed it. It left me yearning for more!

I was only able to read the first two chapters of Havenfall, so my rating is a little low. It did not hook me like if did some people, but again, this was only the first two chapters so I'll give the book the benefit of the doubt and I'll still grab a copy of the book when it is released. I think I'm more interested in Taya than anyone else.

I was able to read the first two chapters of this book and I am absolutely hooked. This is on my most anticipated books of 2020. Keep an eye out for this one in March!
