I was very excited to received an advanced copy of this as I’ve read CJ Tudor’s other books and loved them.

Safe to say it’s another brilliant read, even reading the description of the book had me hooked. A dad is driving home to his family and sees a little girl in the car ahead, she wants help... and it’s his little girl!

This is creepy like the other books, but also very real. The story is quite complicated but everything starts fitting together as you get through the book. I really enjoyed it and will definitely be buying a copy for my shelf!

Gabriel Forman searches for, as he believes, his daughter Izzy. He thinks he saw her, in the back of a car after she was brutally murdered, along with her mother.

Gabriel spends three years up and down the motorways looking for clues of her existence . His father-in-law confirms after seeing the dead Izzy that it was if fact her. But,is he lying ? if so why?

The book moves quickly lurching from one improbable to another. One thing is not in question. It is a very dangerous time for Gabriel who makes an ally of the "Samaritan" .Someone who appears very strange indeed ,but is willing to help.

This book by C.J.Tudor a fast moving thriller part crime ,part supernatural ,is a great read. Loved the twists and turns which only become resolved on the last page. This one, certain to get the pulses races is certainly worth the read.

The Other People by is superb. Tense gritty and a touch of the supernatural.
Absolutely amazing, highly impressed and would recommend to anyone
Twists and turns galore, amazing attention to detail.
Utterly enthralled by this novel. The kind of book where you want to leave work early to get home and read

The Other People was interesting, dark, emotional and overall brilliant!

I found myself creeped out from the start and the plot moves quickly. There’s some different plots going on but they all come together with a BANG! My only criticism is I would have liked to know more about the mirrors and the dark web side could have been explained a little more.

4/5

This was a twisty, creepy read. There's lots going on and lots of different strands. It's very unpredictable and it was nice to read something a little bit different to what I normally read.

I really enjoyed the first novel by C.J. Tudor, 'The Chalk Man' and so was really excited to gain an advance copy of this novel. The premise is great, the story kept me hooked and intrigued, however, I felt let down by the 'paranormal' twist in the novel - just felt like it came a little from leftfield and wasn't really explained. Apart from that, great novel and would recommend if you enjoy twisted thrillers!

Another fantastic book by this author. A gripping yet slightly creepy read, all actions have consequences. I was totally hooked and devoured this book, was great to have such a satisfying ending too.

Oh how I enjoyed this one! Applause to C J Tudor who has really got those twisty twists in this novel! It was the kind of book you have to read in one go - or two at most - as the action and pace are so constant and gripping that it is hard to put the book down for fear of changing events or missing the next dash for the next clue. Very cleverly written.

There's creeepiness in the everyday with C J Tudor - a man searches for his daughter who others believe to be dead. He then follows a car on the motorway and reads the stickers on the back window but then he sees his daughter at the window. How can this be? The POV then flips to Katie, a single mother who sees Gabe at the service station where she works every day. then there's Fran and little Alice who are on the run for some reason. There's also the enigmatic Samaritan who works to help people stranded in life or on the road and he wants to help Gabe. How are all these people connected. And WHO are THE OTHER PEOPLE??

Well that would be telling, but what I will say is that it's so much fun finding out! Characters are well developed and you can understand if not condone their actions. Troubled people in this book with a question of how far you will go for justice, for a loved one? Makes you think. I was intrigued to see how each of them were going to be connected. Add in a supernatural thread which is freakishly good and you have Tudor magic right there. I would even say that the novel would have been just as good without this, but it did add a few spine-chiling moments. You wil never collect pebbles or the noise they make again. As for mirrors,,,,

A great, fun and very pacey read. Stephen King esque with elements of The Chain but with added chills.

This is a creepy, complex, psychological thriller which, on the whole, I enjoyed. I found the idea of The Other People really intriguing - who are they and where do you find them? Why would you seek them out? Well, all the main characters fatefully encounter them and discover their 'Other' selves,

It's a Monday evening - Gabe is on the M1, running late to get home to wife Jenny and daughter Izzy when he is startled to see his daughter in the back of a distinctive car in front crying 'daddy'. He lost the car in traffic and discovered on getting home that his wife and daughter had been murdered. Initially under suspicion but then released, he sold-up, bought a camper-van and, despite burying his daughter, has spent 3 years travelling the motorway, regularly stopping at service stations and handing out leaflets, to find that car, and Izzy.
In desperation he considers jumping from a motorway bridge but is interrupted by 'Samaritan' who helps him locate the car. Searching the glove box Gabe discovers a notebook and deciphers "The Other People". Samaritan warns him to stay away from them; they are accessible only via the Dark Web.

Fran and Alice are living in fear, running away, hiding from danger. She will do anything to protect her daughter. She's been running for 3 years.

Katie is Gabe's regular waitress at a service station, but her family too suffered a tragedy when her father was killed by a teenager intent on stealing the family car, and she has kept the flyer Gabe had handed out some time ago.

Somewhere, there is a pale girl, sleeping in a white room with a nurse at her side.

How can these lives all be connected? Everyone has their secrets and Gabe gradually gets to the truth - but does he know everything? After all, it's Gabe's secret that started this twisty, absorbing and unpredictable series of events in the first place.

Hopefully I won't give away spoilers, but as said I enjoyed the story on the whole, but, there is a supernatural element interjected here that I personally think is extremely tenuous to link two of the characters, and would be better eliminated.

Oh I just LOVED this book! CJ Tudor is fast becoming a firm favourite, I have also been blown away by the previous 2 twisty thrillers by this author and this one is NO exception.

This story is giddy in its pace and so tense I had to massage my jaw after finishing it so tightly had I clenched my teeth.

Told from the pov of Gabe, a thin and broken man who haunts motorway service stations desperately searching for his lost daughter Izzy. Izzy is dead and buried, he went to her funeral but he believes otherwise. He knows he saw her as he was driving home the day she is supposed to have died, she was in the car in front, looking out at him crying Daddy. But he couldn't catch her and he is haunted by this.

He is haunted by a lot of things, Gabe has secrets. Other people have too. There is Fran and her daughter Alice. What are they hiding? Is his father in law being completely honest? Who is the mysterious Samaritan who helps Gabe? and who is the little girl in a white room who never wakes? Gabe is sure someone has the answers to where his daughter is. Could it be the Other People? Is he losing his mind? Or is he the guilty one? So many questions..... so many other people.

CJ Tudor writes with such panache, this tight convoluted psychological thriller with a whisper of the paranormal a touch of horror and a cunning ability to enthrall. This is a true page turner which kept me guessing and gasping all the way through.

100% stunning !!
Damn this was one hell of a read I loved it and why have I not read any of C.J. Tudors books before now because going off this book she is one fantastic writer !!
This was such a cleverly written plot where we have three separate storylines but you know at some point these are all going to merge but the brilliance of this book is trying to figure out just how and it’s impossible to put down because you just have to know it’s that kind of read that makes you ignore real life and just gets you totally immersed in the story and don’t you just love a book that has that power, well you sure do have it here.
It’s creepy in parts with a hint of the supernatural , loads of secrets drip fed little by little from unreliable people building up the tension to make a superb thriller that I could just keep raving about because I loved it so much. So don’t miss out reading this I can promise you won’t be disappointed because it’s amazing.
My thanks to NetGalley and Penguin UK - Michael Joseph for giving me the chance to read the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

*I was sent a kindle edition of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

It’s no secret that I enjoy a good thriller novel so when I read the synopsis for this novel on NetGalley I knew I just had to read it. Having just finished it earlier today, I have to say just how much I enjoyed it. It was a fast paced, clever thriller with plenty of twists and turns and a unique and interesting concept. It was reminiscent to The Chain by Adrian McKinty, to me, which was published earlier this year, so if a reader enjoyed that novel, this is in a similar vein.

The novel follows Gabe as he searches tirelessly for his daughter Izzy who has been missing for the past three years. While the police and the media believe Gabe is unable to deal with his grief, at the thought of his wife and daughter being murdered in cold blood, Gabe keeps searching despite their doubts. He knows what he saw that day and he won’t rest until he finds out the truth. At the same time we also follow Katie, a single mother who sees Gabe every day at the service station she works at and has her own tragedy. Then there is Fran, on the run with young Alice, she knows what happened to Gabes daughter and is running for her life…

I really enjoyed the fast paced nature of this novel and how C.J Tudor managed to maintain the suspense and development right till the very end. I feel like there was such a great balance between the action and delving into the characters mindsets and motivations. Gabe, Katie and Fran are three very different characters but they have one huge thing in common; they’re parents who will do anything for their children. We read as each of them navigate this and the situations they find themselves in and how they each fit into the mystery of what happened to Izzy.

The characters felt very realistic and believable in their actions, when it came to their children and family specifically. I don’t want to spoil anything for fellow readers but I will say that the novel poses an interesting question or dilemma of sorts about just how how far a person will go for justice, even considering the unspeakable, in the pursuit of this so called justice. It’s an ethical conundrum for sure and something both the characters and readers must consider at various points.

One thing I just felt didn’t work was the paranormal or supernatural element of the novel, I feel like the novel didn’t specifically benefit from this and it could have been just as effective had this been excluded. I understand what the author may have been trying to achieve with this but it just fell a bit short for me unfortunately in an otherwise great read.

Overall, The Other People was a satisfying and intriguing thriller which I can picture being very popular on it’s release. I would recommend this to readers who want a new thrilling read to get hooked on for your morning commute or curl up with over an evening, you won’t regret it!

Review to be published on blog closer to publishing date.

I absolutely loved this book, I read it in one day because I couldn’t put it down. The story didn’t let up from the first page to the last it was twisty and gripping. I’ve read and really enjoyed all three books of C. J. Tudor but I think this one is my favourite. Highly recommended if you are a Stephen King fan.

Very clever - possibly too clever - thriller/horror. As seemingly separate stories start coming together, it's like a net being slowly tightened, with the intensity always ramping up. Even though I saw some of the twists coming, I had to read to to the end. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC

I first came across this author when I was fascinated about the description of her first novel 'The Chalk Man', I loved it and have since enjoyed 'The Hiding Place' which was probably even better and enjoyed 'The Taking of Annie Thorne', so I was always going to read this new book.
This book is about three stories that you just know are going to become one. Gabe's wife and daughter were murdered three years ago and he now spends his time living in a camper van travelling along the motorway hoping to find his daughter. On the day of her murder he is convinced that he saw her in another car as he was travelling home. Against all the evidence he is convinced that she is still alive and the dead body identified by his father in law is another girl.
The second story is from Katie's point of view, she is a single mother who works at a service station frequented by Gabe. She is aware of Gabe and wonders what is story is because of his sad demeanour but doesn't speak to him. The third point of view is from Fran, who is scared and running away with her young daughter Alice from something or someone. Fran knows the truth about Gabe's daughter and who is responsible but is afraid that they will catch her and Alice.
This is another excellent read that I ended up finishing in one sitting such was the desire to know the truth. Great characters and a well thought out plot that is expertly paced for maximum enjoyment.
CJ Tudor is really making a name for herself among thriller writers.

I would like to thank both Net Galley and Penguin UK for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

This book is sick ...... in a good way, obviously!!!

It’s the 11th April 2016 and Gabe Forman is driving home on the M1 when he sees a rust bucket driving erratically, it’s bumper covered in stickers. To his horror he sees his 6 year old daughter Izzy in the back of this car and she’s mouthing ‘Daddy’ through its back window. How can this be? Gabe knows she’s at home with his wife Jenny. He gives chase for a while, unable to check with his wife that his eyes haven’t deceived him as he his phone is out of charge. Then he takes the decision to pull off at the next service station to ring Jenny from a pay phone - a decision he will live to bitterly regret. What unfolds is a gripping, twisty story where you feel every emotion as Gabe attempts to find his daughter who everyone else believes to be dead.

This is a well written creepy and mysterious story with excellent and very original supernatural elements which keep the intrigue from start to finish. The tale involves the dark web and a psychotic and faceless organisation who grant vengeful wishes in return for a favour at some point in the future. Gabe finds so many puzzling coincidences as he journeys around the M1 area where he last saw Izzy, meeting some strange characters along the way. One of these is The Samaritan who is very intriguing. At a service station he also meets Kate who helps him when he desperately needs it but it brings danger into her life too. Interspersed with Gabe’s story are some super creepy scenes which I think are some of the best parts of the novel. When the truth finally emerges it’s surprising and you don’t see it coming.

Overall, a terrific read and I have absolutely no doubt this is going to be a best seller. The story is very powerful and emotional with jaw droppingly good supernatural scenes. This is a real page turner with secrets and lies, guilt and revenge, murder and survival, sadness and despair and finally hope. The revenge is of the ‘eye for an eye’ kind with perhaps one of the morals of the tale being ‘be careful what you wish for’ as you might get more than you bargain for. I loved it!

Many, many thanks to NetGalley and Penguin UK - Michael Joseph for the privilege of this ARC.

A real spell binding novel, so much so I couldn’t put it down. I found the storyline very different and enjoyed it, but felt some of the story lines could have been answered more at the end.
