Thrilling and I could not put this down.
The plot is twisty and complex in a good way and the different perspectives keep you guessing all the way through.

This just wasn’t for me. I found it hard going, I was unable to me emerged into the story as I like to be. It’s not a bad book, just not for me.

A compelling tale of justice and revenge. It demonstrates the horrors which loom at the periphery of everyday life. It was so compelling I was unable to put down.

Thanks to NetGalley and Michael J Books for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I would deffo recommend this for those who like thrillers with a tiny essence of the supernatural. I really like Tudor's writing style and she definitely makes you keep reading past your bedtime - chapters are ended on cliffhangers, with the next chapter being from the perspective of a different character, making the novel very hard to put down!

Such a gripping book! Part thriller, part supernatural mystery, really enjoyed the this story, another great page turner from C.J.Tudor.

“We live our lives in a state of denial. A blinkered belief that we are different, special. Protected by a mystical force field that deflects all the bad stuff. Terrible things happen, of course, but they happen to other people; the ones you read about in newspapers.”
Gabe was a husband and father, till the horrors came. Now, his life in pieces, he spends his time driving up and down the motorway searching for his lost daughter, a girl everyone believes to be dead. His path occasionally crosses with those of others: service station waitress Katie, and a mysterious stranger known only as the Samaritan.
Elsewhere, a pale girl sleeps in a white room...
The Other People is a darkly gripping read with a complex and original plot. The supernatural/horror elements are perhaps a little less prominent than in Tudor’s previous work - though there are horrors aplenty and a generally sinister feel, particularly regarding the eponymous Other People. I’m not sure I entirely understood the psychic connection between two of the characters - but perhaps I don’t need to.
A genuinely compelling and memorable story.

I loved The Chalk Man ,so I was delighted to be offered The Other People to review .What a fabulous book, it draws you in from the first chapter .Part creepy thriller part supernatural never sure what is going to happen .The characters were very real ,The Samaritan was scary ,who is he ?Definitely one of those books you don't want to put down until you have finished it .Everyone seems to have secrets The Others are those that believe that justice is "an eye for an eye "! I was really pleased that all the intricate strands of the story finally came together in the ending ,Just brilliant 10 stars if I could !! Many thanks to the Publisher the Author and NetGalley for my review copy in exchange for an honest review .

Another brilliant story by C J Tudor. Where does she get her ideas from? Completely absorbing from beginning to end. So much depth to the story, Well described characters and a brilliant conclusion

Enjoyable enough but rather forgettable thriller with a supernatural edge. In all honesty, i suspect i’d have enjoyed it more had the supernatural elements been ramped up further; i may have forgiven some of the less convincing plot elements had they been part of a more horrific development. If you enjoyed Tudor’s previous two i’m sure you’ll enjoy this, but it’s diminishing returns for me.

I’ve enjoyed C J Tudor’s previous books, but found The Other People to be her best book to date. Thrilling, chilling and with a bit of the supernatural thrown in, this book just gets better with each turn of the page.
A fabulous five star read. Thank you to NetGalley, Penguin UK Michael Joseph and the author for the chance to review.

My thanks to Penguin UK-Michael Joseph and NetGalley for my ARC of this third book by C.J. Tudor. And for me it's the best so far. Sinister, intense and nerve-wracking and in some respects - cautionary - do not meddle with the Dark Web...
Gabe is on his way home driving along the motorway. The rusty old car in front is smothered with bumper stickers. And then, briefly, a young girl appears at the rear window, looks straight at Gabe and mouths the word "Daddy" before the car switches lanes and disappears. It was his five-year-old daughter, Izzy and he never sees her again... Three years later sees Gabe travelling the same motorway, day and night, up and down, looking for the car that took his daughter, although most people believe Izzy is dead. Katie works evenings at the motorway café where Gabe stops off. She has one of his 'missing daughter' fliers and understands his grief.
Fran and her daughter Alice drive many miles as well, running from people who want to hurt them. Fran knows the truth about what happened to Izzy and she knows who is responsible and knows what they will do if they ever catch up with her. The other people....
Gabe, Izzy, Fran, Alice, Katie seemingly unknown to each other and yet...
The Other People is another heart-pounding, pulse racing and darkly compelling tale of justice and revenge and the terror that lives on the dark side of everyday life. Difficult to put down!

*4.5 stars *
Very dark, very creepy, but completely gripping - you won’t want to put this one down! Yes C.J. Tudor has done it again.
Gabe is on his way home, when a face suddenly appears in the rear window of the beaten up old car in front of him. It’s his daughter Izzy’s face! But it can’t be, she’s at home with her mum Jenny. Gabe is tired and thinks he must be seeing things, but a terrible shock awaits him - his wife and daughter have been murdered in their own home, and the police won’t allow him in. Sadly he’s too distressed to attend a formal identification later, (his father- in-law has to do it) so in his mind Izzy is still alive - he knows he saw her in that car.
Gabe spends the next three years travelling the motorway in his camper van, handing out flyers with Izzy’s face asking “Have You Seen Me” He hopes against hope that he will also see the car in which she was abducted.
Fran travels the same motorway, but unlike Gabe she’s not searching, she’s fleeing for her life with daughter Alice.
The synopsis does a great job of explaining just what’s going on, so I’ll just get straight to the nitty gritty.
Tudor really has her own distinctive voice, with a penchant for the supernatural. There are acute observations about life, love and loss throughout the book that make one pause and reflect upon our own humanity, and at times, lack of it. This was a quick, immersive and hypnotic read, with vivid characterisations, that are as chilling as they are insightful.
Look out for ‘The Other People ‘ before they find you!

I read this very close to finishing Adrian McKinty's The Chain and found similarities that added to my enjoyment of this book.
The book starts with stories that seem to be interlinked and gradually twine together in a delightful way. It is hard to write a meaningful review without giving plot spoilers. It has the satisfaction of giving those eureka moments as parts of the plot come together. I felt sympathy for the characters and felt invested in their stories, wanting them to succeed and reach resolution.
An enjoyable read.

I absolutely loved this book and it was full of the trademark twists and turns that I’ve come to love in CJ Tudors books.
Gabe is rushing home from work to spend time with his daughter as he’s been neglecting her, when he is convinced he sees her in the back of a car. He pulls off the motorway to call home only to find a policeman answer the phone telling him his wife and daughter are dead. Convinced that she’s not, he spends the next three years trying to find her.
There were so many twists and threads to this story that I was wondering where they were going but then they all just fell into place and it was so clever! Highly recommended and one I will be talking about for a while.

I really enjoyed The Chalk Man and The Taking of Annie Thorne by C J Tudor and was excited to receive an ARC of her new book The Other People.
Gabe is driving home one night when he sees his five year old daughter in the back of a car, he gives chase but is unable to catch up to the car in the traffic. When he phones home the call is answered by a police officer who tells him that his wife and daughter have been murdered. Gabe cannot believe this versions of events and spends the next two years looking for his daughter.
This is a dark disturbing story about love, loss and consequences.
I was hooked from the beginning by this thriller, it had great characters and gave me goosebumps but was also sad and shocking in parts.
I can't wait for the next book from this author.
Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin UK - Michael Joseph for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

I was very excited to received an advanced copy of this as I’ve read CJ Tudor’s other books and loved them.
Safe to say it’s another brilliant read, even reading the description of the book had me hooked. A dad is driving home to his family and sees a little girl in the car ahead, she wants help... and it’s his little girl!
This is creepy like the other books, but also very real. The story is quite complicated but everything starts fitting together as you get through the book. I really enjoyed it and will definitely be buying a copy for my shelf!

Gabriel Forman searches for, as he believes, his daughter Izzy. He thinks he saw her, in the back of a car after she was brutally murdered, along with her mother.
Gabriel spends three years up and down the motorways looking for clues of her existence . His father-in-law confirms after seeing the dead Izzy that it was if fact her. But,is he lying ? if so why?
The book moves quickly lurching from one improbable to another. One thing is not in question. It is a very dangerous time for Gabriel who makes an ally of the "Samaritan" .Someone who appears very strange indeed ,but is willing to help.
This book by C.J.Tudor a fast moving thriller part crime ,part supernatural ,is a great read. Loved the twists and turns which only become resolved on the last page. This one, certain to get the pulses races is certainly worth the read.

The Other People by is superb. Tense gritty and a touch of the supernatural.
Absolutely amazing, highly impressed and would recommend to anyone
Twists and turns galore, amazing attention to detail.
Utterly enthralled by this novel. The kind of book where you want to leave work early to get home and read

The Other People was interesting, dark, emotional and overall brilliant!
I found myself creeped out from the start and the plot moves quickly. There’s some different plots going on but they all come together with a BANG! My only criticism is I would have liked to know more about the mirrors and the dark web side could have been explained a little more.
4/5

What a book. What a story. From the first page to the last I was drawn in and mesmerised. Fast moving, never boring a five star rollercoaster of a read. Look over your shoulder you never know if thr Other People are watching..
