Small Hours is the most wholesome collection of small web comics I've ever seen. I love how relateable some of the comic strips were and how they were about the author herself. The art style is really cute and the couple is so so adorable.I definitely recommend this for a wholesome short read, and look forward to following the author on social media.
This is such a cute little graphic novel and also really accurate. There were a lot of moments where I felt this was written about me haha.
I like how those comics are about the author herself and it's just great to know that you are not alone with certain things.
The art style is really cute as well and the couple is adorable. I definitely wanna read more of those little comics in the future and I will definitely eventually purchase this in printed form.
This was too cute! This comic is really special because it brings back certain memories that have happened throughout my life. I highly recommend with for a pick me up fun read.
This was OK, although for me it did not accomplish what it sets out to do. Unfortunatley none of the strips made me laugh and I only found a couple entertaining. The art style is cute and is probably the only reason I gave this 2 stars. I think this just was not for me. I cant recommend to anyone but if its your thing I guess give it a go.
We all stop scrolling through our feed every time a comic strips pops up, don’t we? The illustrations are always too cute not to catch our eye, and when we read the panels we can’t help having a laugh because how much truth is there in these strips?
This collection of comics is a fast read, but funny and heart-warming. Mrs. Frollein and her boyfriend are the cutest, their relationship and everyday life—not only as a couple—definitely serve their purpose and make you relate to quite a few situations, some of which may have you smile big time. I’m actually still smiling to a few, so much that it made me think Minelli captured some scenes from my own life. Indeed, Minelli’s work is just that honest and genuine, and the reason why I appreciated Small Hours.
An adorable and relatable comic to enjoy anytime. If you’re up for it, get cosy and ready to smile, it will make you feel like you’re not alone in your quirkiness. *wink*
I loved this. It was funny and relatable. Cute and insightful. I was sad when it was over. Even the back cover was peppered with adorable illustrations. I would love to have this on my shelve.
Small Hours by Valerie Minelli is a collection of comics based on one couple, a girl and a boy. These short comics are extremely relatable and illustrate the day-to-day life of this ordinary couple. I have seen a few of her comics on social media and am glad she was able to publish this book full of them! I think everyone can relate to at least one of the comics and will find humor or feel sympathy for the girl, which the comics center around. This short read is great overall and I loved how Minelli organized her comics into the four seasons.
This compilation of the Mrs. Frollein webcomic is divided into sections by the seasons for Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn. Each section features some comic strips that are specific to the season, and some that are just general humor. I especially liked the Christmas ones!
The humor is sweet and silly, but there were only two jokes that really made laugh. A lot of the jokes are about couples living together, so I can't relate. But there were several comics about reading, watching Harry Potter movies, or being cold, and those were all funny and relatable for me.
I think people who are in a steady romantic relationship would enjoy this humor more, because it would apply to their real lives and encourage them to laugh at themselves and how crazy relationships can be.
There were at least five comics about women shaving or not shaving their legs. I don't know why that is so funny, but it's a big comedy topic, I guess.

2 stars.
This was just OK. None made me laugh but a couple got me to smile. Mainly the Amazon one near the beginning of the book. I liked the illustrations. I thought that they were pretty cute. I think this is more a case of just simply not being for me as books like this I usually really enjoy. I would definitely recommend giving it a go because I can see how others would get a lot of pleasure out of this.
so cute! I really didn't stop smiling while reading this and I really hope SOMEBODY will gift it to me *wink wink bf*
Some of the comics in here, I already knew from instagram but some of them were new to me and I really liked those as well.
This book was adorable, hilarious, and relatable. I loved it! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a laugh or some warm fuzzies
A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E!! It made me smile a lot! :)) I love love love love this one.
Thinking to order a copy to keep <3
I wasn't familiar with Mrs. Frollein comics, but I'm so happy I got the chance to discover them through this book! I just love this kind of comics where there's a little scene of about a page, they're usually very cute to read and most importantly very relatable. It's always nice to read about mundane things that most people experience on a daily basis.
If you're into this type of comics, you should definitely check this out!
This was heartwarming and funny and just a joy to read. It really is just what the world needs right now. I love the simple artwork, and the monochrome style allows you to just enjoy the sweet moments. I had read some of Minelli's work previously, but it was only small portions and not a whole chunk at once. Frankly, it might be dangerous to have so much wholesomeness at once. I should probably go nap and recuperate.
OMG this was so adorable. This graphic novel is basically my life. Every drawing made me laugh or made me smile. It was so perfect. I couldn't get enough of how perfect it was. I can't wait to be able to buy a copy of this book for my shelves so I can read over and over again!
Thank you #NetGalley for providing me an advance copy of this hilarious comic collection #SmallHours
I simply adore the author/artist!
I have been an ardent follower of her comics since the start of this year and I am so glad I got to read this now!
As usual, I just couldn't stop myself from laughing out loud at some comic strips because they are so damn relatable!
But yes, there are a few comic strips that were a bit confusing and I wasn't able to tell what the comic was trying to depict.
Overall, it's a great collection.
Feeling blue?
Why don't we all just flip through this hilarious collection once?
I like Valeria Minelli's illustrations. Her illustrations are funny and adorable. I laughed a lot. Definitely worth to read.
In the foreword, this was described as a "genuine, heartfelt comic", and that's exactly what this is. This was my first time reading this comic, and it was so much fun, I really liked most of the cartoons. I do always have some trouble with simple art styles that don't convey much emotion, though, and I would have liked for this to have a little more depth, maybe. I also didn't appreciate the fatphobia in a few of the cartoons. But some of the other cartoons did crack me up, and overall I definitely liked this comic.
I loved this so much. It was the perfect quick read!! It's so cute and fun! I would definitely read it again. I LOVED the art style so much!!
A very delightful and easy graphic novel to read on a lonely day. Extra props for introverts/early relationship folks and I smiled the whole time and I highly recommend this book and author.
