There is no doubt that the author can write an intricate plot that should appeal to many readers. It is not what I was expecting, and the story just didn’t keep me absorbed. I was hoping for more of a Galapagos setting, but except for the historic mailbox on Floreana Island at the beginning, the action soon moves to the Cook Islands, Tahiti and Bora Bora. I failed to get much of a feeling for these exotic locations or connect with the characters. This is my fault because mysteries involving financial fraud and following money trails to hidden offshore accounts is not for me. I thought the book was well written, and the story well laid out. *2.5* Stars.
