A lovely festive read, in a beautiful setting. Celeste is a likeable heroine, and Nina Singh writes well, very readable.
Oh my gosh, this book was just amazing!
I started reading it on the train and by the time I got home I was so captured in the story that I couldn't put it down!
Celeste has been badly hurt in the past and unsurprisingly she is protective of herself, but also of her family who rely on her
Reid was her ex fiancés best friend and when they end up in Jamaica together it's a surprise to both of them
I enjoyed reading about Celestes development as a character from someone who was emotionally scared and who didn't trust her own feelings to someone who could be willing to let go
They embarked on a marketing plan together and I so want to go do some of the activities, I mean waterfall climbing!! But also some other less adrenaline filled ones as well
Reid believed his friend all those years ago and thought that Celeste was no more than a work obsessed to the exclusion of all else kind of person, actually she is far from that and seeing Reid learn more about her was really nice
Although it says festive, and is based over Christmas, there isn't loads of reference to the holiday which I know can work for some people. I can be one of them which may be another reason why it appealed to me so much!
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a romance in amazing weather with characters who know what they want but who are also relatable and people who you side with
Their Festive Island Escape is written by Nina Singh and published by M&B True Love. Celeste is a jilted bride, 3 years ago she was abandoned at the altar by her fiancé Jack at her own Christmas wedding, so ever since then she spends the festive season in the sunny Caribbean. Unfortunately for her the CEO of this resort is non other than Reid Evanson who was also the best man at the wedding that never was! There is a new chemistry between the pair but will Celeste be willing to risk her heart again?
A fun, easy, enjoyable read, lots of sun and the characters have a definite chemistry.
I received this book via Netgalley and Mills and Boon in exchange for a honest review. I am a #MillsAndBoonInsider #netgalley
This is a very easy read. And would be good to sit down in front of a roaring fire over Christmas. I enjoyed it even though it was rather predictable.
I loved this fresh take on a festive love story. Great characters and a lovely romance - not to mention the bonus of being transported to an exotic resort on a cold, dark, winter's night.
Thank you to NetGalley and to Mills&Boon Insiders for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
After being left at the alter at her Christmas wedding, Celeste makes sure she leaves the city far behind and escapes to a Carribean resort over the festive period. After a chance encounter on the beach with her ex-fiance's best friend leads to an opportunity to review all that the resort has to offer, Celeste finds herself being drawn closer to Reid, but will she take a chance on love and put her heart on the line.

Sorry, but I found this very disappointing. This story sounded like a really neat idea and I was looking forward to some witty and intelligent banter, some sensual love scenes, and lots of fun. Sadly, this just never hit any of my buttons.
Celeste was jilted at Christmas 3 years ago and since then she spends the festive season in the Caribbean despite the complaints of her utterly selfish, boring, moaning mother and sister. Celeste is successful and single-handedly supports this painful excuse for a family.
Arriving, she encounters Reid, part-owner of the resort and he turns out to be the best friend of her ex-fiance. Reid has a bad opinion of Celeste and is all on the side of the ratbag Jack. What's with this guy, his best friend jilts the girls at the altar and he's not the slightest bit critical of his despicable behaviour at the time, but only questions it when he gets to know Celeste?
The novel ambles lazily around a tour of the tourist spots of Jamaica for what seems an eternity. The reader is privy to the angst-ridden thoughts of the h/H - but with each of them behaving like inexperienced teenagers unable to communicate, instead of intelligent, mature adults. Celeste was so boring and so much an exploited victim of her family that I struggled to have any sympathy with her. Her behaviour towards Reid was for the most part, stupidly aggressive and immature and downright inexplicable. Reid never came to life and I couldn't understand his reticence to take the next step in the burgeoning relationship.
There was no real sexual tension between the characters and no real reason as to why they just didn't 'get it together'. I've enjoyed other books by this writer but this one was frustrating and ultimately rather boring.
I really enjoyed the first four fifths of this book, the setting was beautiful the characters were interesting and the premise was intriguing. The final section felt really rushed and more sketched than fully drawn with no exploration of what the characters were feeling or thinking. A shame as until then I thought this was a lovely book.
Celeste was due to get married at Christmas to Jack but he left her at the alter surrounded by family and friends, so every Christmas she goes away . Reid can't believe his eyes when he sees Celeste on the beach at his resort so he decides to get to know her by going on excursions together to help the resort. What happens next is a shock to the both of them. Will Celeste get a second chance at love or will she continue to keep herself closed off. This was a really good book and I enjoyed reading how these characters engaged with each other. I definitely recommend you read this book as it is well written and worth reading.
