Loving the continuation of this series! This author continues to amuse me with these characters and their storylines – cue Gaston and his puppy Lefou! Chrissie and Gaston meet and she’s the first woman to not fall all over him, and it intrigues him enough to track her down and seek her out to attempt to get to know each other better. Hesitant at first, Chrissie finally lets her walls down and they eventually embark on a relationship that lasts a lifetime. I love that this storyline focuses on their time as a couple while handling difficult things that typically happen within a relationship and have them work through them. That alone makes this book somewhat more realistic than others. As always I love Aurora’s storylines combined with her characters, and while this one didn’t have any suspense or crazy aspects of it, it was just as enjoyable as the others! Can’t wait for the next installment in this series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
A great easy read in this series. Definitely an insta love storyline. Alpha male warning and chemistry galore.
This story is a sweet, uncomplicated RomCom.
Sometimes you’re in the mood for a 3 day long deep dive into a super complicated, angsty drama, sometimes you’re not. This was one of those times where all I wanted was a few hours of sweet, predictable RomCom. This book delivered. 100%.
The characters are so.. tropey. No, that’s not a word, I’m sorry. But they are! They are so, perfectly typical. Chrissy is a bakery owner, and of course, Gaston is a super rich bar / nightclub owner. She’s a little timid, he’s a little pushy. It’s perfect. If I were in a different mood when I read this book, I might have eye rolled the whole time. However, It’s Christmas, Everything in life is chaotic. Sweet and simple is what I was in the mood for.
If you are in the mood for a good, quick, fun escape, grab a copy of this story.
Chrissie was fun in Leah and Tyler's story and was a great leading last in Baiting Him. Chrissie is strong, independent, and successful. Not thinking she has time for a man or much to offer, she blows Gaston off when he initially speaks to her. Thankfully he doesn't give up that easy.
Gaston knows all about success and running your own business. He also knows what he wants and goes after it, namely Chrissie.
I loved these two together. Great, natural fit for one another and maneuvering daily life and family and work dramas.
Great read.
I loved this story!
This one stayed true to Aurora Rose Reynolds' usual writing tone and dedication to the HEA.
I enjoyed the storyline and getting both Chrissie and Gaston's perspectives.
The writing was good. The characters were lovable. The ending left me satisfied.
I'd definitely read this again.
Chrissie is always busy with her bakery and the business of baking. One night while out celebrating her friend’s bachelorette party she meets Gaston (yes like the villain in Beauty and the Beast). Gaston is super hot and funny so she turns him away when he advanced thinking it wouldn’t work. Luckily Gaston (or Gus as he likes robe called) is not deterred and romances her with flowers. Theirs is an instaromance with this plenty of heat but lots of super, soft romance too. Gus is not the typical alpha male and his sweet side is the stuff of dreams. This is a nice quick and sweet romance with plenty of hot scenes. Another great book by this author. I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review. 5 stars
There isn’t a book that I don’t love by Aurora Rose Reynolds. She has that 'magic touch' that captures the mind of the reader. I loved Gaston and Chrissie’s story from start to finish, I didn’t want it to end. As always, I highly recommend reading this book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love this author and she did not disappoint. This novel grabbed my interest and did not let go until the very last page. I loved Chrissie and Gaston. I loved the dialogue and the banter. I love when a novel sucks you in and you just can't stop reading. This novel did this for me and checked all of my boxes. I loved the chemistry between Chrissie and Gaston.
This was an okay read for me. I might have enjoyed it more had I liked Chrissie. She just cried and whined a little too much for me. I thought Gaston was awesome and he gets bonus stars for putting up with Chrissie and all her tears. The “mystery” in the story was super easy to figure out, which was disappointing. Overall, this was not a great read but it was not terrible either.
Chrissie loves owning her own bakery. She is so busy, she doesn't have time for anything else. So when she goes out to celebrate for her best friend's bachelorette party, she doesn't expect Gaston to come barreling into her life when she sneaks into the men's room at his club to avoid the line to the ladies room. She definitely doesn't expect the larger than life, sexy man to keep pursuing her. What is a girl to do?
What a fun and beautiful love story! Chrissie and Gaston's journey will cause you to fall in love with this beautiful couple. such a sexy, steamy, sweet, and fun book! This book will intrigue you from the start. An absolute MUST READ!
Really sweet (pun intended) and light romance read.
I was a little worried when I picked up Baiting Him because while I like a good romance, I become worried with bait and switch or deceit elements in books. But, alas, this was for not... it's quite literally a line the H says at the end and NOT the aim of the h throughout. whew!
Anywho... this was my first book by Aurora Rose Reynolds and I really enjoyed it. I really appreciate it when a couple comes together and triumphs over adversity rather than some trumped-up drama/separation as a plot device. Although, I do feel like the adversity/climax issue was a bit rushed. I wanted it to be a little more fleshed out.
The relationship was a slow burn-ish type. The characters were very sweet and there were no elements of deceit or deviousness. Adults acting like adults... who knew that could happen in a romance novel?
I recommend for those looking for a sweet and light romance to brighten up their day! I will be keeping my eye out for more by the author!

Baiting Him is a strong and believable second instalment in Aurora Rose Reynolds` How to Catch an Alpha series and ticks all the boxes. A heart-warming and realistic account of the growth of a relationship and the quirks and bumps that come from navigating a genuine commitment. There’s a little “other woman” angst, but no cheating and Chrissie has to deal with some family issues along the way too. Strong secondary characters will obviously lead to more books in the series and the HEA and epilogue ensured this story ended on a high note. I look forward to what’s still to come.
Amazing story, although predictable still amazing. Loved me some Gaston. Read this on one sitting.
Thanks Netgalley and Montlake for the ARC
Aurora has done it again. Easiest five stars I think I’ve given to one of her books besides Until December. If you know me well, then you know I can never get enough of how ARR writes such easy romance. I love that there is hardly any angst. LOVE IT!
Chrissie and Gaston falling in love was so simple and flowed so well. It was easy and had so many moments that made me smile and swoon. For me, it doesn’t really any get better than that. Throw in a dog named LeFou and I’m obsessed.
ARR writes amazing alpha males. While Gaston is a bit tame compared to the Masons, I still adored him. I will always love a man who knows what he wants, doesn’t play games, and is absolutely dreamy.
Like I keep saying, this was such an easy romance to read. If you like alpha males, low to no angst, and super sweet stories then I think you would like this one.
All in all, I am still loving this series and can’t wait for the next book Hooking Him later next year. Hopefully, it’s about a certain redhead that works at the bakery!
From the first line to the last line, I was hooked. Gaston was so sly in his Alpha-ness. He was able to get Chrissie to do what was best for her with no problem. I love that there was no major conflict. I am totally ok with a love story with no breakup, semi breakup, or danger to either party. Gonna need to takes some notes so I can catch my own Alpha.
I recieved a digital copy free through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and voluntarily shared.
I really enjoyed this one and binged it in one sitting 😊
This was an obvious plot but it worked really well, I enjoyed the chase although it could have been a bit longer but never mind. I really loved watching Gus and Chrissie getting to know each other and I was anticipating the twist all the way through, however it wasn't what I was expecting so that was refreshing.
I loved all the family dynamics betwne the friends and the families themselves.
I think the ending could have been longer as it seemed a little rushed
Baiting Him is a quick easy romantic story, no great angst and almost insta love between Gaston and Chrissie but that in no way distracted from this being an entertaining read. There is humour, family strife and a host of well rounded characters and enough depth to the story to keep me turning those pages to a very satisfying ending.
My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly
I love a good alpha male story and this one did not disappoint!
These two meet at a club when Chrissie uses the men’s restroom. List at first sight for sure!
Then he peruses her.
She finally agrees to go out on a date with him (even though she believes he is out of her league).
He cooks her dinner. *swoon*
It’s yummy.
They kiss.
It’s hot!
And then they begin a relationship and it’s too sweet.
Great story!
This is a solid read, though a little boring. Let me explain. The H and h are genuinely nice people. He’s a bar own (3 times over) who’s eye candy. She beautiful, and over men. Their meet-cute happens during her friend’s bachelorette party. I wouldn’t say he was expressing interest, and she wasn’t given him the time of day so a kinda blah introduction. His interest is peaked and it turns out they are both very decent humans. Honestly, they’re almost too perfect. There is one vengeful actor in the cast, but even that was meh. I do not like conflict for the sake of conflict. Thankfully, that poor writing maneuver is completely absent here. However, at the end I was just like, okay. It’s a perfectly fine story, just less interesting than I generally prefer.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
There have been very few things ARR has written that I didn't like. And, although her books can be a tad predictable at times, they each feel very genuine and always leave me with a mad swoon hangover. I loved Gaston and Chrissie together and especially loved how organic their relationship felt.
With all the swoon but a little less of the alpha, Baiting Him was a delightful read. I'm looking forward to the series continuing.
