This was a sweet, sexy story and I enjoyed it, but it lacked any real drama. 3.5 Stars.

Chrissie is a fairly happy, successful woman. She owns her own bakery, and it's been doing very well. Mostly because it is her whole life. She works constantly and has no time for anything else. Especially not a sexy man who might not mean what he says. But when she meets Gus when she's out for her best friend's bachelorette party, she's not sure if she can take him at his word. Or if she even wants to.

Gaston, aka Gus, owns his own club and 2 other bars. He mostly stays away from girls he meets there, and especially from his employees. But when he sees Chrissie at his club, and speaks to her, he's hooked. But she's not sold. He has to convince her, which is exciting for him, and he pursues her ardently.

Chrissie and Gus had electric chemistry, but she was trying to be cautious, while he was full steam ahead. They both had very different family situations growing up, and that definitely colored how they handled the rest of their lives. They were both very close to their moms, which I thought was awesome, and I loved seeing those connections. I also loved seeing Chrissie's best friend, Leah, and her husband Tyler (the couple from book 1) and how happy and awesome they were. It's always fun to see past couples living out their HEA.

Overall Gus was a swoonworthy hero, and Chrissie was a strong, fun heroine, and I loved their connection. They really fit each other, and that was clear. But, the small bit of drama in this story was a lot of tell instead of show. I would've liked to see that part of the plot fleshed out a little. In the end, it didn't seem very important, since it was over so quickly, and basically could've just been skipped altogether. So, there really wasn't a lot of drama at all, which is fine. I'm good with smooth sailing between the hero and heroine, especially in a novella. But, in a longer story, I expect some sort of issue that comes between the couple, and a black moment they have to get through before they can be happy together. Don't get me wrong, I'm by NO MEANS an angst queen. In fact too much angst gives me hives, and its not my jam. But, the stakes just didn't feel high here at all without any outside drama going on.

Overall I still liked the story, and I really loved the characters. I look forward to the final book in this series.

This book we sexy hot but not in an erotic and uncomfortable way. The chemistry between these characters is off the chart and feels completely natural. Through the entire story, I felt the heat between Gaston and Chrissie rather than feeling like I'm being told there is heat, which is the case in many romance novels. These two feel naturally made for each other and it is an easy read where you feel like you are witnessing two friends falling in love.

Gaston and Chrissie literally run into each other in the men's room. She doesn't realize that it's his club, but soon finds out. He is immediately intrigued by her and wants to know more. Chrissie is standoffish and wants to remain in her self-imposed bubble. She is content to own her bakery and not have much else going on in her life. Gaston moves to change that and goes about it quite effectively. I liked how he went for it and didn't hold back. Chrissie did allow her mom to shape her life at points in the story. I was pleased to see Chrissie deciding to be happy. Her relationship with her father was not too great and I felt she could have also reached out to him. He was her father, but she could have also found out how he was and why he left. I did like how Gaston knew it would fester if she didn't confront her father. The story was really well told and was a quick, easy read. Their love story did come off as believable and not too far-fetched. I wound up reading this pretty much in one sitting.
If you liked the other books in this series, you are going to like this one.
I received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest review.

Baiting Him is the highly anticipated, second installment in the How to Catch an Alpha series by the queen of insta love books - Aurora Rose Reynolds - and the story of Leah's best friend Chrissie and Gaston. As a hopeless romantic at heart I'm always in search of sweet, touching and swoon-worthy reads that make me smile big and believe in true love. And that's exactly what I've found in Baiting Him. Aurora's books always give me such a deep feeling of pure contentment and happiness. I simply adore the way she writes contemporary romance and how she manages to create such a profound connection between the hero and heroine and how she develops their relationship and makes them grow as a couple.

Chrissie is an independent, young woman who owns the Sweet Spot. Her thriving bakery is her pride and joy. She doesn't have time for dating guys and thinks that relationships aren't worth the trouble. Until she one night unintentionally baites a very gorgeous man at her best friend's Bachelorette party. Gaston/Gus is a successful business man who is used to getting what he wants. And he has set his eyes on curvacious, feisty and beautiful Chrissie. He instantly knows that she is going to be his greatest challenge but could also turn out to be his biggest reward if he can convince her to give them both a chance.

Gaston is a guy after my heart. He is protective, a bit possesive, very supportive and caring. I loved the way he treated Chrissie with so much respect and honesty. He gave her a strong and reliable shoulder to lean on while not stifling her with his attentiveness and concern. And please don't get me started about him having an adorable little dog named LeFou. This obvious Beauty and the Beast reference was so funny and endearing.

Chrissie is a great and relatable heroine. She is hard-working, kind-hearted and sometimes such a cute dork. I get why Gaston was mesmerized by her. She had a great sense of humor and made him laugh all the time. He made Chrissie feel safe and at peace, cherished and wanted. They were truly a match made in heaven. I liked their banter and the sizzling sexual chemistry between them.

I loved the message of this wonderful story and how it teaches us about opening our hearts to the idea of love, the importance of family and friends and that we should never stop searching for the soul deep kind of happiness in our lives.

If you're a fan of steamy, low-angst and witty romances with a dreamboat Alpha hero and an adorable heroine then you should definitely pick up this book. It's going to give you all the fuzzy and warm feelings only a well-written book can do and make you excited for the next installment. I've thoroughly enjoyed every single page of this gem and therefore give it 5 well-deserved stars! Thank you dear Aurora from the bottom of my heart for another magical reading experience.

Baiting Him is book two in the funny, steamy and highly addictive How to Catch an Alpha series from the amazingly talented Aurora Rose Reynolds! It's a must read for all romance lovers who are looking for a great, unputdownable story with endearing characters that will make you swoon. I just love how Aurora's books give me all the warm and cozy feelings I crave when I need to escape reality. This is exactly the reason why she's been my go to author for years. Nobody writes Happily Ever Alpha romance better than her!

What I loved most about Baiting Him is the fact that it was about two people finding true love in their early thirties. Thank God there was no unnecessary drama! Both were mature, didn't beat around the bush and knew exactly what they wanted. It was very refreshing. Although both come from parents whose relationships didn't work out, they both still believed in finding their soul mate and starting families on their own.

Chrissie is the owner of a thriving bakery called the Sweet Spot. She's living her dream and working hard. She has no time for a relationship and frankly speaking, life has taught her that guys are not really worth the trouble. Too bad she unexpectedly catches the attention of the gorgeous and irresistible Gaston, the owner of the club where they celebrate her best friend Leah's bachelorette party.

From the moment he meets Chrissie, Gaston knows that this sassy, sweet woman who makes him laugh is the one for him. It doesn't hurt that she smells like cupcakes and has sinful curves that make his blood boil. Knowing that nothing good comes easily, he's determined to fight for her heart. Can he convince the beauty who's too busy to fall in love to give him a chance?

Gaston and Chrissie were perfect together! Their scorching chemistry was palpable on every page. I loved how they easily fit into each other's lives. Both had demanding careers but still managed to find time for each other and make their relationship work. Chrissie filled Gaston's life with cookies, laughter and happiness while he made her feel cherished and safe.

Gaston is definitely one of the most amazing heroes Aurora has ever written. He was protective, understanding and a true gentleman. He supported Chrissie and her career, offering his help along the way. Who wouldn't fall in love with guy who looks hot, is a fabulous cook and great in bed?

Chrissie was a marvelous heroine. I loved how sweet, loving and loyal she was! I admired her work ethics and really wanted her to find happiness. A kind hearted woman like her deserved a great man like Gaston to love and protect her.

Thank you dear Aurora for giving us another perfectly written book in the How to Catch an Alpha series! You truly never cease to amaze me with your beautiful stories that still make me believe in true love. I will never get enough of them! 5 stars

Chrissie is the friend of our heroine from the first book and while I was looking forward to her book, it fell short for me. It was very insta and it didn't feel like I ever got to know the characters or at least connect with them. I would recommend if you're looking for a quick, simple read to pass a few hours. Aurora Rose Reynolds sure can write a hot scene though.

Baiting Him was such a sweet, swoony love story it's hard not to fall in love with Chrissie and Gaston. If you love LOVE then this one is for you with how easily the characters fell for one another, with no angst (which I love) and only a little drama. Baiting Him has everything I've come to know and love in a ARR book. While Gaston isn't the typical overbearing alpha hero like her usual men, doesn't mean he is anything less than an alpha male. I loved Chrissie and the fact that she was a strong and independent woman with an established life and career. I thought Gaston and Chrissie brought the best out of each other and loved seeing their relationship unfold. Fabulous read by Miss Aurora, as always!

Baiting Him is the second volume in the How to Catch an Alpha series by Aurora Rose Reynolds. I’ve read the first volume, Catching Him, without reviewing it. I already knew the author because I read her title Falling Fast in 2017 and I loved her style, her characters and the evolution of the feelings.
Aurora Rose Reynolds writes the kind of story I like: a simple love story where the heroes meet, fall in love, must trust each other, and have a beautiful HEA. Her characters are really likeable, the heroes as their circle in which most will have their own story later. Generally, once we begin her book, we have trouble putting it down. What’s more, in her different series, we have a glimpse of the previous couples’ happiness.

Baiting Him is no exception. The series features different heroes with each volume, and you can read them in the order or begin with this book. The story features Gaston “Gus” and Chrissie.
Chrissie is the best friend of Leah, the heroine in the previous volume.
Gaston’s name gave my daughter and me a fit of giggles. Little bending compared to my usual reviews here with a personal anecdote: one of my daughter’s mates is named Gaston, and he’s the first boy she’s met with this name. She pointed out to him that he has the same name as the bad guy in the Disney’s version of Beauty and the Beast, and he said it was the first time someone told him that. So when I read the hero’s name, not only did I think of her but what’s more in the novel it’s THE reference for the heroine and her mother. Hence an excellent moment.

Gus and Chrissie meet during Leah’s bachelorette party which takes place in a bar where Gus is the boss. Our heroes meet near the toilets and there’s a quite a funny scene about it.
The attraction is immediate between them, but the heroine doesn’t trust good-looking guys so she doesn’t follow up. But our hero is determined to have a chance with her so he makes the first move.
From then we have a plausible evolution of their relationship with the benevolent intervention of the people around our heroes. At no moment do we doubt the feelings they have one for the other, and that’s what I really like with this author.
The book has a little suspense side which is solved in the end and we suspect the whys and the wherefores quite fast.

I highly recommend this book.

Baiting Him is book #2 in the How to Catch an Alpha series. Aurora Rose Reynolds (ARR) brings us a fresh, fun and sexy story filled with alpha males, strong independent females and lots of romance! Tyler and Leah stole my heart in Catching Him, but look out! Because Gaston – yes, I said Gaston- and Chrissie have taken over!

Chrissie was introduced in Catching Him as Leah’s best friend. She is sweet, quirky, and caring. She owns “The Sweet Spot” bakery. Chrissie meets nightclub owner Gaston (Gus) at Leah’s bachelorette party. What ensues is sweet, fun, sexy and romantic! Filled with insta-lust and insta-love! Baiting Him is ARR at her finest!

“Did you just say your name is Gaston?”
“Yeah”
“Oh my God,” I whisper, horrified. “You’re like the worst villain ever.”

Gaston is the perfect alpha! Charming, considerate and smoking hot! His tenderness and love for Chrissie is swoony and romantic! Of course there is a bit of drama, but nothing over the top. The story flows and filled my heart with warmth. A great pick me up when you want to sit and get lost in a book!

“No one looks like Gaston. No one cooks like Gaston. No one refuses to read a book like Gaston,” I sing.”

4.25 stars

This is one of those feel good, perfect afternoon reads that will leave you smiling and believing everything is right in the world. There is very little drama, although the heroine does have some family issues to work through and there’s a tiny bit of “villain” that pops it’s head up but is quickly dealt with. Otherwise, this is a relaxing romance of insta-desire and fast love. I enjoyed reading it as I reset myself after life had piled on the pressure. Perfect for a little escape from the real world!

This book was full of surprises and I loved it people that are a fan of Beauty & The Beast will get a kick out of the main male characters name and his dog’s name

Aurora Rose Reynolds is known for her alpha male characters from the until series and the until her/him series and she doesn’t disappoint. If you haven't read the first book Catching Him please do and then read this one, i mean you don’t have to but it will make a lot more since.

If you're looking for a sweet, easy, low angst read, this is it. Such a beautiful romance with two great characters and wonderful supporting characters. Gaston, aka Gus, meets Chrissie and immediately falls for her. She has some personal issues to work through but he's so sweet that she falls for him. This book reads like a documentary of how two "perfect for each other" people fall in love. Want a few hours of just smiles and generally happy feelings? Read this book.

This is book 2 in the series but it is standalone. The first book also was really sweet and low angst so I'm guessing this is the gist of the series. The characters from the first book make appearances here and overall, the supporting cast is great-fun and the author built a great world for readers who love romance to get lost in.

I requested and received a copy from Netgalley and this is my unbiased review.

A great fun super sweet romance that had me melting into a puddle

Chrissie owns a local bakery and is kept super busy with it she also has a tight circle of friends who she is super protective of. When she heads out for a night of fun with those friends they go to a local club. There she meets Gaston the owner of said club when she sneaks unto the men's toilet to avoid the wait for the ladies. Gaston is instantly smitten and is determined that she will be his so he and his dog Le Fou set out to win her over. Gaston may be an alpha male but he has a wonderful mama's boy centre that makes him sweet at the same time Chrissie won't stand a chance when he starts to spread the charm

Baiting Him will just steal your heart. I love Gaston. He is totally swoon worthy and you can't help but fall for him. There is just something about Gaston and the way he is that just makes you feel a little bit gooey all over. Chrissie is just lovely. She loves what she does and isn't looking for a relationship. Then she meets Gaston and you can't help but feel the powerful pull between them. I love how Gaston doesn't give up on Chrissie after their first encounter. For you instant love lovers out there this is a book for you. Gaston and Chrissie have such a way together that they just steal your heart. You need to one click this one.

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Unfortunately this romance was not my style. Chrissie seemed nice enough but I could not stand Gaston's character. Bossy, demanding and unoriginal. He ruined the whole story for me, pretending to be caring and genuine while being overbearing and arrogant. Disappointing.

Baiting Him is book two in the series. I really liked it. I loved Chrissie and Gaston. Gaston was pretty swoony! Chrissie and Gaston had great chemistry from the beginning and were just perfect for each other. They were sizzling together!! Loved loved them.

This is the second book in the Catching Him series. I really enjoyed the first book, so I'm glad there was another one. We met Chrissie in the first book. She's friends with the main character of Leah in that book. This book has dual perspectives between Chrissie and Gaston.

We meet Gaston when Chrissie decided to skip the female bathroom to use the mens in what we learn is his club. From there on the romance continues :). I also loved Gaston's little sidekick LeFou. Funny Beauty and the Beast reference. However Gaston was no villain in this story. I really enjoyed the dialogue between the two characters, and they brought in plenty of side characters if the author decided to continue on this story line :).

I enjoyed this story and would recommend this series to others.

Cute story. I enjoyed watching Gaston (I laughed every time I read his name.) and Chrissie find their way to each other. Some good laughs in this story and a good read.

Baiting Him is the second book in Aurora Rose Reynolds' How to Catch an Alpha series and follows Chrissie, Leah's friend from book one. Chrissie has seen her friends through bad dates and relationships, and even her own mom through a failed marriage. Which leaves her less than excited to start her own relationship and the reason she first blows off Gaston aka Gus when they meet. But Gus is a man that knows what he wants and decides to not let Chrissie run scared.

These two had such a cute relationship and I loved reading about it. Gus wasn't as posessive as ARR usually writes her heroes but he was still a complete Alpha that made Chrissie is whole focus. The connection between them was sweet and heated with moments of strong passion. It made the book really intriguing and easy to get stuck in.

The story was very low on angst which left even more moments to focus on Chrissie and Gus, and their relationship. We did have some emotional scenes thrown in with Chrissie's family and they actually helped bring her even closer to Gus and provided a ton of cute moments.
