Really enjoyed this book and great to catch up with Rachel and her team on another case. Lots of twists and turns with this one and it kept my interest throughout. Can't wait to read the next one!

I. Was actually shocked to still this as a book I still had to read. I read it before it was released. I think I know how it happened I sometimes have 3 books on the go at the same time one on my iPad one on the kindle and one on the phone. No I never ever get the stories mixed up. But obviously I have forgotten to post a review. No way would I ever let a Helen Durrant book go anywhere a day or so without reading. No chance. The women Is one hell of a writer. I have read all her other books and this ones no different, so full of twist and turns from the world go. She never glories a main officer in her series of books. Most have a flaw or two like Rachael she as made mistakes some she doesn’t want her team to got wind of. However she’s good at her job, being in charge of the confetti killer is i gritty new case for our new appointment Di Rachel Cross she’s following all the leads that seen to lead to a dead. End so what is she actually missing. She can feel she’s almost there. Bit that missing pieces of the jigsaw she or her team just can not see it. What a surprising and shocking end that no one saw coming because finally Racheal clicks all the jigsaws together. I brilliant start to a new series from Helen Durrant just brilliant. I am still in shock I have not sent my. Review through. However it definitely would not surprise me if I have already reviews directly. So Netgalley it’s going to get two reviews because of my mistake

Even dci Mark Kenton is back. He grew on me. This was a brilliant read. I love the team although Amy is a moaner. What a twist. I didn't expect that. I do hope there is more to come. I love this series. I even like Jed MacAteer. 5*

I gave this book.2 stars only because I finished reading it. I had read some of Durrant's books years ago and enjoyed them.

This one started off with a decently interesting premise and just disintegrated as it went along. It was way too long and too many complex subplots. If she (or an editor) had even cut out the ridiculous subplot of Rafferty, it would have saved a huge portion of useless pages of a useless and non essential subplot.
Ditto all the parts that pertained to the wedding of her friend. Extraneous.

The further the book went along, the more amateurish and sophomoric the dialogue became until it sounded like it had been written by a child. And then the utter incredibility of some actions. I will only mention one....the leading police officer gets off a plane and into a car of someone she does know. And her explanation? She wanted to know what he wanted..

Whoo boy! What a mess.

Thanks to Netgalley and Joffre Books for an ARC of this book. It took me a little bit to pick up where Book #2 left off as there were occasional references to prior scenarios. That being said, this is a stand alone murder mystery. Well actually multiple murder mystery.

I liked the plot of this book where initially the wrong person is murdered as two men switched identities. This leads Rachel and her team down two paths to find the murderer(s) as more bodies are found.

I really like the character of Elwyn, he's rational, logical and really works the case. And he's a good balance to Rachel who jumps to conclusions and runs on emotion. Unfortunately, I find Rachel herself somewhat irritating and wish her character was a little more like Elwyn.

Helen writes some of the best crime stories I have read. They are often very graphic and so well written I race through them. While I enjoyed this one I didn't find it as good as the other ones. however I finished it and enjoyed the story and the characters. It was slightly unbelievable but even the characters in the book thought so!

Having read and loved the previous books in this series I was really looking forward to this one, yet again it didn’t disappoint. A great story with great characters.

This is book three in a series, and while I haven't read the earlier books, I found this one read very nicely as a standalone. I found it well written and ere are enough twists to keep the reader guessing. Read and enjoyed in one sitting.

This excellent police procedural book begins with a murder at a care home. An elderly patient found suffocated with a finger severed and covered in confetti. The daughter of the victim is taken by DCI Rachel King to formally identify her father, only to discover it wasn’t her father. Then a second body is discovered with the same signature, severed ring finger and covered in confetti. DCI King’s team rush to try and find connections between the victims before any further victims are found. Meanwhile Rachel is trying to keep an eye out on another of her cases that was taken over from her and given to a colleague DCI Mark Kenton, it’s a people trafficking case , with the prime suspect having absconded and several key witnesses in witness protection. The key missing witness in that case is Jed McAteer, who just happens to be a very important part of Rachel’s life. As the two cases begin to collide it looks like Rachel is going to have to choose between her Job and the man she loves.
Although this is the third DCI Rachel King novel, I read it as a stand alone and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is beautifully written, engaging to read and fast paced to keep you engaged and guessing till the very end. I will definitely be going back to read the first two. Once again Helen Durrant has create yet another engaging series as good as all that came before. I look forward to reading more DCI King novels.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and it’s the third in a series. I found this book to be a good and easy read, although it didn’t wow me. Whilst there are references to previous books and events, this book can still be read on it’s own. The characters were mostly likeable and believable. A man is murdered in a Nursing Home and Detective Rachel King and her team investigate. More similar murders follow and the detectives try to find links between them. You get glimpses into Rachel’s home and personal life and her background history. I felt the book was a little rushed towards the end although all loose ends were tied up. 3 stars

This is the third book in the Rachel King series and once again it was an excellent read with an interesting storyline. This involved the murder of people involved in a scam, but one of the victims had exchanged places with a driver involved in people trafficking.
It is a very complex storyline with many twists and turns before it all comes together at the end. Rachel and her police team once again work well together to find the evidence to charge the guilty and protect the innocent.
Highly recommended.

Love this series and can’t wait to see how it goes. Interesting storyline and likeable characters makes this a top read #WRONGVICTIM #NetGalley

A Series of Bizarre Murders.....
Book three in the Detective Rachel King thrillers. A series of somewhat bizarre murders leaves Rachel mystified. What is the link and why the carefully considered scenarios? Engrossing storyline with twists aplenty.

I found this to be a little clunky and naively written. A standard detective novel but not as gripping as many others, the plot relying heavily on a story connected, but previous to the novels main events.. The characters were formed to carry on a series, though I felt it would not appeal to me to read more as I felt little emotional attachment to them..

Wrong Victim was such an entertaining read. It had an interesting plot and storyline as well as complex characters, such as Rachael and Jonny. It's a fast paced read with some links to the previous book, so I would recommend reading the other books in the series before reading this one.

Another excellentinstalment of the DCI Rachel King series. I love Helen’s work, and this book did not disappoint one iota. Eagerly awaiting the next instalment.
