Ah the intricacies of sisterhood. Although this novel is titled My One Month Marriage, it's more about the interrelationships between the sisters than the actual marriage relationship in question. The story opens with Zoe, berating herself over her sham of a marriage, surrounded by older sisters Marina and Verity, and younger sister Yvie. The chapters bounce back and forth in time, and back and forth between each sister to reveal each of their own stories; how they're interconnected, and how it all leads to Zoe's marriage ending. While some of it is a bit predictable, it was fun reading it all unfold, unveiling how bastardly "charming" can actually be, the extent of which definitely exceeded expectation. It was especially interesting for me personally to examine the sisters' relationships given that I have 2 sisters myself. Thankfully, I couldn't relate as much, since I found my family's loyalty to be a bit more solid than the Danton girls. Although no judgement here! The author does a great job at revealing each sister's personality- why they are the way that they are, why they treat each other or react to each other the way that they do. At the end of the day, there's no breaking the bonds of family, nothing like having sisters, and nothing comparable to a sister's love and protectiveness over her own. Thank you @bookandtonic for sharing this fun read!

One Month Marriage

I fell in love with the cover of One Month Marriage, I like that it has a mature feeling. A modern elegance if you please. Then I opened my Kindle and I dived in. Meeting the four sisters was a whirlwind of information to take in but Shari Low writes so beautifully she made it dead easy.

I don’t think I have read a book based in Glasgow that wasn’t crime fiction. So it was a nice change to see a lifelike family come to life in the City. I am from the opposite coast over in Edinburgh. But I have been to Glasgow a few times over the years.

The sisters are all very different characters and when Zoe’s world crumbles after her one-month marriage comes to an end. Will her sisters be there to lift her up or did one of them add fuel to the fire.

I think I loved Marina the most, she has a Bree Van de Kamp style of living. With a list for every activity and a life checklist for every family member. Trying too hard is an understatement but why is she programmed that way?

Yvie would be my second favourite, although I haven’t thought this numbering favourites malarky through. None of them would be on the bottom of any list. They all bring something fascinating to the table, excuse me I mean book. So back to Yvie who is the emotional support sister of the group. If one of them has a problem, they call Yvie because she will make them feel better and be a tremendous support. But who is there when Yvie needs support?

My wee heart breaks for Verity, she is somewhat the odd one out. She feels frightfully sad to me, almost wound up to tight for her own good. Will she find her voice in time?

Then we have heartbroken Zoe, who lives her life to the max, usually. But will Ned be able to win the heart of fair maiden so soon after it’s been broken? Which sister has completely crossed the line?

The book is brilliant, the way it is written, the format of the book and the relateable characters are unforgettable. I absolutely loved every page and when it ended I felt like I was leaving new friends behind.

Shari Low knocks that awful chick-lit tag out the window with this mature, heartfelt story. Everybody’s fiction from the heart. A story of trust, family and most importantly self-love.

This was funny, emotional and engaging all the way through. Loved the modern theme and really felt like I connected with all the characters.

This is absolutely recommended for a funny and romantic story.

An entertaining read. You get to know the 4 Danton sisters. It’s a very strong, raw real story.
Excellently written and strong characters
Thank you to both NetGalley and publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book

This was my first book I read by Shari Low, but not the last. I found it very entertaining. I enjoyed meeting and knowing the Danton sisters and family. I did get lost a few times with shifting back to previous family history but it does come together. Definitely a pleasure reading.

This was a really enjoyable book which follows the lives of 4 sisters, their relationships and a mutual “love interest”. At times, I did get confused over which sister did what, but that’s just my memory and not a reflection on the story, having said that, I do feel the story dipped slightly in the middle.
I did like how different each sister was, and even though their relationships were strained at times, the way they all look out for each other was really well written. This book ended on a lovely high.

What a great read!
In 'My One Month Marriage,' Shari Low has created four very strong, very real, very different female characters; Zoe, Marina, Verity and Yvie are well developed and individual, and although as sisters they are connected by family, they are stand alone characters in their own right.
Chapter one opens with Zoe's voice, declaring the end of her marriage after just a few short weeks, as her sisters gather around her; it ends on a cliff hanger and the catalyst for the rest of the story - 'Which one of you slept with my husband?'
Ned is the man in question, who has a connection with each, the story unfolding much like a whodunnit, with each sister guarding a secret, revealed to the reader in her own voice as she fills in her part in the events.
'My One Month Marriage' is also about building bridges; initially it is clear the sisters have grown apart as their lives have developed, but the end brings a coming together, an understanding and a healing of differences.
My only comment was that the story did jump about a bit, not just between characters, but also between past and present, so I did have to concentrate! On the whole though, very enjoyable!
I give this book four stars!

Oh my word, I adored this book! Why have I never read anything by Shari Low before?!

Four sisters: Zoe, Marina, Verity and Yvie … all so different in every single way. Marina is the only one who’s married and she makes helicopter moms look lazy and uninvolved! Zoe’s the corporate, marketing wizz; Verity’s a bit of an introverted schoolteacher and Yvie’s the happy-go-lucky one, always there for everyone, never down and just perfect for her job as a nurse.

The story begins with Zoe (who I figured half-way in was actually least likely to get married), realising that her marriage is over … after just one month! She calls her sisters together and confronts them with the question: “Which one of you slept with my husband?” Told in a mish-mash of timelines from everyone’s point of view it sounds like it would be rather convoluted and difficult to follow, but it absolutely isn’t! Once you figure out who’s who, who fancies who and who belongs where, you’re A for away! It’s fabulous!

Shari Low’s characterisation is amazing. If I were to pick one person who I wasn’t particularly fond of, I’d say it would probably be the girls’ mother, but even with all her self-absorbed nonsense going on, she stays true to form throughout.

As an only child (who has four of her own children), I’m so intrigued by the dynamics of large families. All those constantly shifting dynamics are so fascinating. Each personality tends to trigger another and everyone can become so volatile in just an instant, even those who appear to be the most passive ones in the pack. This was really well depicted.

This is a solid 5-star read! I couldn’t put it down!

Many thanks to Bloodwood books and Shari Lowe for the opportunity to read and review this book. I really enjoyed this book based on sister. One sister Zoe is distraught when her marriage ends ine month after it had begun, especially as her husband had cheated with her sister. On the hunt to find the culprit the book was enticing, interesting and entertaining. The one critic I would say I'd that I found it hard to remember which sister was which and got a little confused from time to time.

And Shari Low is back! I reviewed a lot of her novels via Head of Zeus, and really enjoy her writing style, so when Boldwood Books contacted me about her latest release My One Month Marriage, I readily accepted.

My One Month Marriage is Shari's 20th novel and it follows Zoe through the preparation for her wedding and the aftermath of it.

She and her sisters made a pact to stick together no matter what.

Then Zoe ends up single.

What heppened to get her in this mess?

Is one of her sisters to blame?

Who and will they own up to what they did?

Will what happened ruin the sisters' bond or can sisterly love conquer all?

My One Month Marriage, like any book with sisters in it, had me interested right away. I felt Zoe's distrust of her sisters and the build up to this was realistic and tense.

Will Zoe trust her sisters again? Will she find love again? Does she even want to?

These are all important questions and ones I had.

My One Month Marriage is a blend of sisterly relationships, tension love happiness and how to figure out who to trust when family betrays you.

Shari Low sets the scene well and keeps the tension and atmosphere going well throughout the book. The thing I was surprised about was that there was no reference to the wedding ceremony itself. I would have liked to have had that in there since a wedding is such a special day.

Thanks to Shari Low and Boldwood Books for my ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

4 stars.

Received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for a honest review. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

I had a hard time with this. Couldn’t connect to it and didn’t find it interesting. It jumps so much in POV and times that I hard a hard time with it.

I found this one a little hard to get into at first as the first chapters vary in timelines and meeting multiple people I was unsure of what was going on.
I did find it to be an enjoyable read in the end it follows 4 sisters, one of which, only one month into her marriage finds out her husband has cheated on her with one if her sisters. It chronicles her trying to figure out what sister it was and she finds out much more along her investigation of which sister skerritt with her husband

What an introduction to a book. We meet Zoe, her marriage has failed after one month and now she needs answers and the only logical one? Its one of her sisters.

We then proceed to travel over various time frames as the narrative unfolds as we learn about the dynamics of the family, and how Zoes ex husband has played a part in their lives. I really enjoyed this, it was a read that focused on family dynamics and relationships.

The one down side - i sometimes found it hard to recall which sister was which but that is just me and when i have more than one leading character i start to struggle but that is just me, because the author has made it clear enough to the reader where we are in each chapter.

Once i got my head around the characters and their traits i really enjoyed getting to know them and their own lives, it was interesting to see how they all differed and how their lives had impacted them all individually. I really rooted for them all to find their own peace and happy endings. A sweet read.

I know I'm in safe hands when I dive into a Shari Low story, but boy this book did not disappoint. From the master of character creation springs a set of characters that had me hooked under their spell from the starting blocks. There were jaw dropping cliffhangers and moments of madness that had the pages turning themselves to reveal a rom-com take on the 'who dunnit' set up.

The narrative was engrossing and highly addictive with a plot that unraveled at a delicious pace to deliver charged moments that had me on the edge of my seat. I mean you know you're in for some meaty revelations with a title that boasts a one month marriage and this book did not disappoint in the slightest. Secrets and revelations were crawling out the woodwork at the turn of each and every page and I was living for the crazy dealings in the lives of the Denton sisters, and what an arc de triomphe they were too.

These sisters were a force to be reckoned with. As a cast of characters go I can safely say that these girls ticked all the boxes. Complex childhood, walls built up to protect head and hearts, feelings pushed back out of sight for safe keeping and a penchant to gloss over any inkling of confrontation heading their way. But couple that boat load of charged emotions with four complex personality traits and you have a fascinating cast of characters to star in a dazzling storyline.

But don't take my word for it, dive in and see for yourself because Shari Low has done it again.....this book is another triumphant tale of the highest order and I loved each and every word.

You need your wits about you when reading Shari Low’s brand new novel, which fans will be pleased to know features some familiar characters as well as new faces.
In typical Shari style, My One Month Marriage switches viewpoints, time and sometimes countries, so it’s probably not one to read if you’re sleepy, but this does make it one rip-roaring novel.
It is a bit like my mum’s old pressure cooker where you put all the ingredients inside, turn it on and listen to it hiss and plop while waiting for the button on the lid to pop but, unlike my mum’s pressure cooker (thankfully), this book certainly went off with a bang.
We already know a bit about Zoe from one of Shari’s previous books, Another Day In Winter, but this is the story I didn’t know I needed to read.
Not only do we follow Zoe but her three very different sisters too, who were all partly shaped by something that happened to them when they were children.
A gamut of emotions are spread throughout and it keeps you guessing about the first question, ‘which one of you slept with my husband?’ right until the end.
The thing I really love about Shari’s books is that reading them often feels like catching up with old friends because of the cameos from characters from past novels and this one is no different.
All in all this, it is a cracking read - just make sure you're wide awake when you start it.
4.5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Boldwood Books and Shari Low for a digital review copy in return for a honest review.

This was the first book I have read by Shari Low and I will now be looking to read more.

Great opening - Zoe is reeling from the shock of her marriage ending in just 4 weeks AND suspects that one of her three sisters may have betrayed her too.

The story moves back and forwards in time looking at the relationships between the four sisters, their dating history and life problems.

This is a book I didn't want to put down, lots of twists and turns, sibling rivalry and missed chances. Definitely a 5 star read for me - well written, great characters and enjoyable.

This is the story of four sisters. Zoe got married a month ago and now her marriage is over. Her new husband has cheated on her. The story alternates between the four sisters and also different timelines. I was able to follow this but it does take some concentration.

I loved the authors style of writing. There were some serious moments in this book but also lots of humour. The characters were well developed and multi layered. I think everyone can relate to at least one of the sisters as themselves. They each have their own life with its inherent problems, but the one thing that they have in common is the divorce of their parents and what the fallout that created.

This is a lovely story of life and family. A good read.

Thank you to the Boldwood Books and Megan who let me come on the book tour and finally read a five star book! (which I haven’t done for a while)

I know it’s only January, but whilst I was reading this book I thought it will be a perfect summer read. Maybe it’s because I was reading it whilst round a pool but I just found it a light and easy read whilst still managing to keep me hooked and wanting to know who did sleep with Zoe’s husband.

This book had me guessing all the way through which sister had slept with Zoe’s husband as the book has many flashbacks to show that each other of them has had a previous relationship or encounter with the man in question. For a while, I even thought it was the mum. When it was revealed who it actually was, I didn’t guess for a minute it would be her. If you have read the book/ when you read it, I would love to hear people’s thoughts and predictions and see if they was right or wrong!

Not only does Shari write a story line with four sisters with a strong relationship with one another, she also manages to include minor plots which are quite big deals such as working out to much and not eating much, to a single mum bringing up her son whilst being a nurse and one being unhappy in her marriage she sleeps with different men every time she is in a different hotel.

If I didn’t have the chance to review the book, I would defiantly buy it as it was a perfect read for me and I can’t wait to read all her other books!

I was very excited to see a new Shari Low book, and again it didn't disappoint. This time we meet the Danton sisters, and their sibling relationship made for a great read. I'd love to see this as a TV drama, there would be tears and laughs as there were when reading it. All through the book were the repercussions on the girls' lives of their parents' marriage split when they were young, and subsequent events stemmed from this. All through the disagreements and resentments there was a strong sibling bond, and it was lovely to see the relationships of the different personalities. I identified with different sisters at different parts of the story. And the outside relationships: with partners, friends, parents and children. A story of realisation and awakenings, I felt a part of the family! #netgalley #myonemonthmarriage

Zoe Dalton had been married for one month when her husband Ned had cheated on her. Zoe has three sisters that she goes to in time of crisis and they to her and each other. Zoe is a marketing executive. Verity is the oldest sister. She is bold and striking on the outside but restraining and the most conservative inside. She was a primary school teacher and had a crush on Ned. They were actually going out for drinks when Zoe crashed their date and goes along. Zoe ends up married to Ned as Ned wasn’t really into Verity. There was also Marina who had her life and her families life all mapped out for them. The youngest sister isYvie who is a nurse on a geriatric floor. She's the one all the sisters go to for help. She is fantasizing one of the doctors who work there but he is married. All the sisters are not happy deep inside. Zoe realizes when she talks to a friend that did her a favor that one of her sisters is probably the one who her husband cheated on her with.
I had mixed feelings on this book. I chuckled at times while reading this and at others choked up a little. I didn’t really like going back and forth between the past and present. Yet I did find out the baggage the sisters carried form the parents divorce and than their dads suicide not too long after. I did like how the sisters were there for each other. The ending turned out different than I thought it would. It was sad none of the sisters were really happy. I didn’t like Ned at all. This was a little confusing at times. I did enjoy the mystery and intrigue and the bit of investigating done in this book. Which sister could have done this to Zoe. So as you can see I had mixed feelings on this book.
