I couldn't finish this book, I hated Leo he was controlling and horrible and I really couldn't see why Lettie would fall for him, his shaming of her lifestyle bugged me. You lost me though on the good shaming... Lettie feeling guilty for eating pudding.... Are we still on this even in 2019? Food shaming is not OK? Why ant a woman in a book enjoy her food without feeling guilty?
A marriage bargain involving great wealth from one partner with parenting responsibilities and great debt with dependants from the other. An emotionless agreement where everyone is considered and a solution is decided.
Forging ahead, but finding the original terms are no longer serving the couple involved, when a deep emotional connection surfaces that can't be ignored.
New feelings are recognised, admitted to, and flourish. With a happy ever after ending in this romantic, sensual story.
I read this ARC for an honest review
All thoughts and opinions are mine
I've read a lot of this author and this doesn't disappoint
I found this a great, fun read and read in 1 sitting
Loved the characters - the heroine is feisty and full of life - a great heroine !
Great story
Would recommend
This book caught my attention instantly and pulled me in
Leo needed a wife to help him look after his sisters 4 orphaned children and remembered a previous business proposal which would give him a wife that he had declined at the time now seemed like a great idea
Letty so isn’t what he was expecting, he know she cared for her family but she was way more attractive than what was described!
The children warm to Letty and her dedication towards them is a highlight throughout the book. Leo realised that Letty isn’t the kind of wife he originally wanted but that she was the person he needed and he wanted all her attention!
I enjoyed the writing style and the main characters came off the page and made it very easy to connect to them. I would have liked a bit more of the interaction with the children and their personalities as that would have made the story feel more rounded and helped me understand Letty a bit more
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy a romance with a dynamic lead couple, both of who work, with slice and intrigue not just normality!
When Leo's sister is killed he takes responsibility for her children but soon realises he needs someone to help and wants to give them a mother figure so he sets about finding himself a bride. His main business competitor offers him his granddaughter to marry thus amalgamating their businesses.
When Leo meets letty he is taken aback and not sure she is at all suitable, But letty needs money fast to protect her family so she agrees to leo's demands for the sake of her family.
Letty is strong willed and this starts to appeal to Leo and he finds himself yearning for her company in and out of the bedroom.
What started as a marriage of convenience soon turns into much more.
This was a fun quick read and I would have devoured it in one sitting if it hadn't been for a very busy Christmas period in our house.
I really liked Letty - she's hardworking, passionate and compassionate and she put the needs of her family before her own especially when agreeing to marry a stranger..
She did not meekly turn into putty in Leo's hands, she stood her ground and made sure the deal worked for both of their interests.
Despite becoming richer than she could ever imagine pretty much over night she stuck to her principles and insisted she went to medical school to become a GP..
I enjoyed the dynamic of their relationship and how she quickly bonded with the children.
An entertaining romance with Leo and Letty struggling to accept their attempts at a platonic marriage in order to provide a secure family unit for Leo's four orphaned nieces and nephews.
The characters work well as a couple despite being from different ends of the social scale and you do end up rooting for them to have a happy ending. At the beginning, I was a bit worried how the story would go as Leo effectively asks Letty's estranged grandfather to provide him with a wife in exchange for taking over his company, however, Lynne Graham's writing ensures that the story progressed into something better than the premise suggested, and by the end, the reader is invested in what becomes of Leo and Letty.
An enjoyable Christmas read.
Leo Romanos, is unexpectedly the sole carer of his stepsisters four orphaned children, and decides a beneficial business merger marriage is the solution for all his problems.
Letty (Juliet) Harrison, the illegitimate grandchild of Isidore Livas, sole carer of her mother and stepbrothers finds herself on the receiving end of a financially beneficial proposal.
Sounds a little boring? The explosive chemistry between the characters is anything but and will compel you to read the story in one sitting, as I did!
Both characters have a past that defines their personalities and they are both strong characters who compliment each other perfectly.
This is Lynne Graham at her best. The book was exactly what a M&B Modern romance should be, and I haven't enjoyed a book like this in quite a while.
This book was received free from NetGalley via Mills and Boon Insiders, but it does not in any way influence my opinions.
The Greek’s Surprise Christmas Bride is written by Lynne Graham and published by Mills & Boon Modern. Leo is a billionaire businessman who has. Econe the guardian to several of his cousin’s three small children after their parents die in an accident. he wants to find a wife ASAP so he can restore order to his previously child free existence. Letty (Juliet) has had to postpone her training as a Doctor/GP to care for her family and to prevent her father’s business collapsing she marries Leo. Leo doesn’t get the subservient little wife he was expecting, she does not pander to his every whim but devotedly cares for the children. Slowly a marriage made on paper becomes more!
I enjoyed this book. Letty wasn’t the traditional heroine. She refused to sign the prenuptial agreement, insisted that she continued her GP training and didn’t behave like the traditional Geek housewife. Leo got more than he was expecting and his character changed slowly as the storyline developed. I found this to be an enjoyable Christmas read.
I received this book via Netgalley and Mills and Boon in exchange for a honest review. I am a #MillsAndBoonInsider #netgalleyThe
A nice romance, however felt very cliched and I didn’t find much to keep me interested, unfortunate as I thought sounded interesting.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
Oh my! A seemingly heartless billionaire, landed with 3 children, who decides for their sakes he has to marry. It’s a recipe for romance indeed. Thoroughly enjoyable. A very easy read for a wet weekend!
Why are all Greeks Shipping Magnates? However, the description of the children is nice and overall the book was nicely written.
This book is between 3 and 4 stars for me.
Good points: Letty is awesome. She doesn't let Leo call her Juliet, her full name, she carries on with her studies and then works as a GP, she has real problems with the terms of the pre-nup and challenges Leo on them throughout the book. She refuses to just roll over and do what he wants, but isn't making a stand just to make a point. I really liked her! Leo isn't bad either, really good reasons for why he's commitment shy and there's actually some dialogue and give and take between him and Letty.
Why only 3 stars? I just didn't feel the romance between Letty and Leo - which is disappointing given I read a Mills & Boons book with a cuppa and a bar of chocolate for that warm happy feeling I get from a satisfying romance. I liked both the characters but their 'romance' came across as a strong case of lust, with the strong potential to turn into something more substantial as time went on. But it was all too short, too rushed for me to be convinced. A shame.
I liked this story but I didn't love it.
Really enjoyed this one. Completely un-PC when you take into account Leo's initial request to be married but keep his mistress as well, but he was soon kicked into touch and I loved that Lettie wasn't a shy retiring type, she spoke her mind and gave as good as she got, even though she was inexperienced in certain and predictable areas.
