Creepy, unpredictable and a master study in manipulation. As the protagonist caught by chance in a web of deception which she initially does not realise, the reader cannot help but feel sympathy for Shay. She’s vulnerable and the Moore sisters use this to their own evil advantage. A great psychological thriller which I would thoroughly recommend. Although you will find yourself checking out your surroundings once you’ve finished it. Just in case someone’s watching your every move...

Now this is a really good book - never loses pace or interest and although there are a number of flashbacks never overdoes the descriptions of what happened,
I was certain I was going to give this a 4 star rating until I reached the last 10%. Up to then lots of little puzzles, twists and revelations but not a 'didn't see that coming moment' for me. Then in the last few pages it changed - superb ending and very satisfying.
If you like twisty mystery/thriller books then don't miss this book.

I really enjoyed the story and it was full of twists and turns, but I did find some parts a little far fetched. I’m obsessed with the duos writing style and loved getting to know all the characters through the alternating POVs with each chapter.. if you’re looking for an intriguing suspense novel, look no further

This story had me hooked from the begin with its twists and turns. Shay Miller feels lonely and isolated but something happens, then she meets the Moore sisters where all the twists and turns start. I will definitely be reading more from this author. It was a brilliant read.

Intense intrigue.
A thrilling read which had me hooked on the first chapter. I read this compelling book in two sittings and enjoyed seeing the drama unfold, the characters discover the subterfuge, and the unravelling of secrets by the end. A great book. I will be on the lookout for, and will recommend Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Really enjoyed the suspense in this one. I loved the plot and there were a few surprise twists in there. My only criticism is that there were a lot of characters which took a while to get used to and not get confused otherwise a good read.

This book centres around Shay, who witnesses another woman (Amanda) jump in front of a train, and then slowly starts to become obsessed with finding out more about Amanda and her life. As the story progresses Shay becomes more and more involved in Amanda's world, moving into her apartment, becoming friends with her friends etc. This is where the story starts to get quite dark and twisted.

I did find this book to be rather far fetched in places, and I can understand why some reviewers may have not liked this. However, I found I still couldn't help but enjoy it! There was so much madness going on that I was constantly turning pages and needing to know more.

I’d been regretting requesting this book as every unknown author (to me) that I have been reading lately has been letting me down, and I’ve not been enjoying them. So, as the date of release has been approaching, I’ve known I’ve got to delve in and get the book read, but I’ve been putting it off and off. I finally bit the bullet and got stuck in, well this took me completely by surprise. It’s the first book this year that has been, for me, completely unputdownable. It is the perfect psych thriller I’ve been searching to read for what feels like months now. It was utterly unique, and like nothing, I have read before. It was flipping fantastic!
It was fresh, fast-paced, the characters were likeable. They were well-developed and extraordinary. Shay wasn’t your usual downtrodden protagonist. Yes she was lonely and a bit down on her luck but she had gumption, and she didn’t just let everything that was happening to her get her down. She didn’t just whine and moan, which is the norm in a lot of psych thrillers; she fought back. She was quirky, and I loved her data book. I found her utterly fascinating. The ‘bad’ guys were intriguing as well, and even though they were heinous, they were mercurial.
The storyline did take some keeping up with as there were a lot of characters and a lot of different timelines. I didn’t find it challenging, but I know from other books and other reviewers that some might struggle with this element. Everything is clearly labelled, though, so you know exactly who you are currently with and when.
I honestly didn’t know how the story was going to end, who was going to prevail? With not having read any of the author’s previous works, I wasn’t familiar with their writing style and whether they went for big twists or shocks. So, I was sort of anticipating a shocker at some point, but I was pleasantly surprised by how it did end.
This book took me completely by surprise, and I’m so glad I took a chance on it, and it has renewed my faith in trying new authors once again as I’d become a bit sceptical on doing this as I’d had a run of bad luck. However, everything else I’m going to read now is going to pale in comparison for a while!

This is a decent read, well written and with interesting characters. It's about a main character, Shay, who is lonely and who witnesses a suicide and who then becomes obsessed with the woman she saw die.
She details statistics and these flow through the book. Shay then meets 2 women who befriend her and help her in many ways. What is their motivation?
What follows is a story of revenge, loss, manipulation and friendship and it's all brought to a satisfactory conclusion.

What didn't work so well for me was how slow it was at times. At one point I felt I'd been reading it for weeks and it didn't seem to be progressing. However, I'm glad I stuck with it as overall it's a good read.

I was intrigued to read this book. I have seen a lot of reviews that have all been quite mixed and also after reading the synopsis I wasn’t too sure exactly what is meant to happen in this book so I was pleased to be able to get the ARC of this.

It follows Shay Miller who is feeling quite down in the dumps and very lonely. All she wants to feel is like she belongs. Her friend she fell for is now with someone else, she needs to find somewhere else to live, her career is not going well and she doesn’t really have any social life.

Shay witnesses a tragic event that haunts her and she becomes quite obsessed by it. Her life then drastically changes when she meets the Moore sisters.

The Moore sisters seem to have it all, the career, the looks, the charm and are always there for Shay to help her through her problems in life and they make her feel like she belongs at last. Things however start to take a sinister turn and Shay has to be strong and prove she is innocent.

I found this book at first a bit slow going and my attention started to fade. I did at one point think that if by halfway through the book if it didn’t pick up I might give up on it. I am pleased I persevered as the book really took off with a fair few twists and turns. I read the last half in one sitting I was that gripped.

I know a lot of reviewers have said how much Shay annoyed them and I thought myself that she was very naive to not work out how much she was being manipulated. However, when you think about how lonely she was and desperate to feel wanted I can kind of understand why she behaved in such a way.

I would recommend this book if you like psychological thrillers and like a bit of suspense. This would not disappoint. I just advise that you stick with it as it is a very well written and clever story with very interesting characters.

Chapter 1 starts in Shay Miller’s voice. She starts the whole narration of this twisted, dark tale. A data fanatic who maintains a journal about stats of everyday information.

“Numbers never lie. Statistics, charts, percentages - they don't contain hidden agendas or shades of grey. They are pure and true. It isn't until people start meddling with them, spinning and shaping them, that they become dishonest.”

The author gives a 360-degree view of Shay's personality. As a reader, you get to know her and her happiness, pain, disappointments.

On the other side, we have a group of women led by the Moore sisters. Cassandra and Jane Moore run a PR firm in New York with high profile clients. You will love to have friends like Cassandra and Jane. They are poised, enigmatic, magnetic and persuasive women. Friends you would love to show off to other people in your life. They have a group (a mysterious one) of seven women. Shay and the sisters fall on the opposite end of the character scale and in between lies these other women, Valerie, Beth, Daphne, Stacey and Amanda. They come from a dark place (before they met sisters). The author narrates their stories in a different timeline. We know their background. Moore sisters had some unseen special power over these women in the group.

Everything on that fateful morning when Shay witnesses a suicide in the subway platform. And like a magnetic pull, she feels compelled to look into this woman’s life. But what she doesn’t know is that all is not what it seems!!!

The story goes through the PoV of Shay and Cassandra/ Jane. There are twists and turns in every other page.

The ending is fair and comes as a surprise. Shay’s data digging skills are the ultimate tools of her survival. However, she isn't a very pleasant character. She seems very unreal and naive.

The central theme of the book is about revenge, but also has pronounced subtexts about depression, loneliness, and issues related to her parents.

The story dips in between which slows the progression towards the climax.

Nevertheless, You are not alone is a psychological thriller with a fast-paced story, interesting characters and the storyline that’s engaging.

An interesting read. One that seemed a little far fetched at times. And at other times, a little hard to follow, with a lot of twists and turns. However, it did keep me entertained to the end and it was well written.

Shay Miller is having a rough time, she is lonely, has no love life and is in a dead end job. Things are about to get worse though. As she waits on the subway platform a young woman jumps on the tracks to end her life. This leads to a series of coincidences that lead Shay to have a whole new circle of friends who live a life of glamour and perfection. Shay wants their life. But what she doesn’t know is they are after hers.

A brilliant fast paced book with excellent short sharp chapters which left me wanting to read on. The characters were developed well, some who I didn’t particularly like but I think the characters had to be unlikeable for the story to work. I also found myself questioning Shay at times. Why couldn’t she she what was right in front of her? But then we all do things to fit in with others, it’s part of life, a need to be liked.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book, would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good thriller.

Authors Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen are back with their latest offering You Are Not Alone. I really enjoyed this book, ‘twisted psychological thriller’. This is one of those books that’s hard to review without giving away major spoilers, so far that reason and not to spoil your own reading experience of this book this will be a brief review. You Are Not Alone is a complex, dark and entertaining read, we all know someone like Shay, she wants to find someone to love, but those no hint of her meeting her ‘prince charming’ her career leaves her unfulfilled, she wants to be part of a crowd, not the isolated person, she has become. That all changes when Shay meets the charismatic Moore sisters, who appear to have everything she craves, as her friendship with the sisters and their close circle of friends grows, Shay feels a sense of belonging, something she’s never felt before. But as the adage goes ‘If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is’ and Shay’s life takes a sinister and menacing turn,

One of the strengths of this book is the way the authors explore the
Unlikable side of human nature, where mind games and manipulation are used to gain someone the trust of someone one is desperate to feel they belong. At first the way the story is told appears chaotic as it moves from past to present, jumping from one character to the next, I guess some readers may find this irritating, but in no way did it spoil my enjoyment of this book, as the chapters are clearly labelled to stop any confusion. Through out You Are Not Alone there’s an uncertainty about where the story is heading, which made this read even more enjoyable. If you’re willing to suspend disbelief, which hopefully many readers will, after all, isn’t that the point of fiction? Although this isn’t my favourite book by the authors, You Are Not Alone made for a quick, enjoyable read.

Couldn't put this book down, had nightmares about it as well. It was so descriptive. A thriller with lots of twists, working it all out and great outline of the characters fitting them all into a fab story.

This was a great read from the authors of The Wife Between Us and An Anonymous Girl both of which I have previously read and enjoyed. A good twisty thriller and while I saw some of what was coming there were some surprises in store too! Shay's character was unusual but interesting and I was rooting for her all the way. I'd definitely pick up the next book from these authors.

I was lucky enough to get sent a copy of ‘You Are Not Alone’, the new release by duo Hendricks and Pekkanen before its publication date, in exchange of course for an honest review 🤓📚 Oh woah, my first book by this incredible duo and I will most certainly be picking up their previous thrillers !!!! This was an enjoyable popcorn-thriller read, super suspenseful, pretty dark with a likeable enough main character that I really warmed to (although there were moments I felt like screaming STUPID BITCH!!!!). Despite the fact there were a lot of characters/false names/stories to keep up with, when the plot and twists unravelled it all fell into place brilliantly. Believe me the storyline is fantastic !!!! My only problem was the ending which I felt needed a little more explanation - it all just sort’ve ended abruptly leaving me pretty ?!?!!!!???!!! 🧐

I've read the previous 2 books by these authors an loved them so it was a bo brainer that I'd read this too, and it didnt disappoint.
A lonely girl living with her friend and his girlfriend witness's a woman throw herself under a train. The effect it has on her is profound and she attends the dead woman's wake where she meets two sisters who befriend her. This new friendship gives her a new lease of life an with the sisters help she moves out of her shared apartment, changes her appearance and obtains a new job. But all is not what it seems and she is soon questioning the motives of the sisters friendship. Is their friendship genuine? Or do they have ulterior motives? And why do the police suspect she knows more than she's letting on about the suicide? Was it even a suicide at all?
Another fantastic read from these authors, I cant wait for their next book.
