I enjoyed reading Mastering Small Business Employee Engagement it was crammed with useful insights, anecdotes and information gleaned from the authors' SME. It would be of interest to a variety of organisations ranging from a new start-up or established business with little to no or ineffectual formal policies or procedures. Nor is the advice limited to region because on the whole, it's business commonsense, not Northern Ireland specific. Indeed it is applicable to any manager or employee who takes a greater interest in strategic matters or wants to know why the latest initiative is being implemented in the office. Not much new information here for me personally (apart from the book referenced) but beneficial nevertheless. The accessible way it was written and the enclosed forms and lists in the appendices make it a worthwhile read and one that I will be referring to shortly when reviewing employee forms.
My thanks to Troubador Publishing Limited and NetGalley for an ARC in return for a candid review.
3 Stars - I liked It
The title is interesting but it is not coming from an American small business perspective. I would discuss the topics with others but not recommend the book.
Thank you to Troubador Books and Net Galley for providing a e-ARC in exchange for my honest review. This book came at a good time when my daughter had just been promoted to management. I will order a copy for her, and I know she'll make great use of it. This has unique ideas and realistic tasks that you can use to become a better manager.
