Penn Etling is trouble with a capital T! Cocky, sexy, funny and the master of sexual innuendo…but he has layers and depth that he keeps hidden. You can’t help but love him! Avery Perry has lived a life where she can’t trust that people want to be with her for her not for the connections to her family.
The chemistry between Penn and Avery is tangible…you get caught up in the push and pull of their relationship as each struggles with their own issues. Locke regales us with a fun, flirty, and sexy romance that will make you laugh and sigh! Also, intertwined in the story is a varied cast of supporting characters that really enhance the story. I enjoyed this book, so if you are looking for a well written, witty read this is the book for you. Advanced copy provided by Netgalley.

Trouble is the third novel in the Dogwood Lane series. Trouble could not be a more perfect name for this story and the hero it follows.

Penn Etsling is on the construction crew with Dane and Matt. He is the ultimate player in Dogwood Lane and everyone knows it. He has a reputation he cannot and doesn't deny.

Avery Perry has runaway to Dogwood Lane. On a whim and with no pre-planning, she has had enough of LA. Living with her Aunt in town, she started working at the hair salon while she got used to the slow life in Dogwood Lane.

I absolutely adored this story. Penn is so fun, such a bachelor, but so real. His growth through the story is truly inspiring. Avery had a lot to learn too and it was fun to get to know them all a lot better! I hope there is more to come from Dogwood Lane.

WOW!
I'm kinda speechless!
Penn Etling’s Story is not anything like I expected but so much more!
His book has so many elements that when I finished I had the biggest smile on my face!!
It was entertaining, innuendos galore, sizzling chemistry and fantastic banter that brought his story full circle! Hes just something else entirely! Yes he's good looking, good with his hands and incredibly charming but hes also a little dumb in regards to certain things in life! It does take his good friends telling him like it is to get him to shape up!
What I genuinely loved about this story was the support network, the sense of friendships in the small town and how accepting they are of Avery!
I loved everything about this beautiful book! It was a highlight of my week reading this! Ms Locke has definitely written something she should be immensely proud of!
You just have to read it for yourself, so go 1 click, you will be so glad you did!

I have read every one of Adriana Locke's books, and I always know that I'm going to get sucked into the story.
If, like me, you enjoy small town/second chance romances, then you need to read this book.
Oh lordy, lordy. Penn is HAWT! He is a lovable flirt. A player. No emotions or relationships, just one-night stands. But he has a big heart, secretly helping out an elderly neighbour.
Avery moves to Dogwood Lane, to live with her Aunt Harper, and help her out in her salon. She couldn't stand the fakeness of LA, and needed to get away from her actress mother.
On her first encounter with Penn she remembers when she met him a few years ago, but Penn appears to have no recollection. Their budding friendship brings lots of laughs, but there is a small amount of angst to bring on the tears.
I loved this book. Penn is everything.

Loved this book. It is a second chance romance with a little of a slow burn and not instant love. As always with Adriana's books, I read this book with a smile. It is book 3 of a series but can be read all by itself.

This is the third book in the Dogwood Lake series. Penn is know as a the one to make jokes and goofs off. He also isn’t into relationships. Avery moves from LA to live with her aunt as she is trying to find where she belongs. This is a touching love story of two somewhat broken people. I loved this book. It was funny, touching and heartwarming and also enjoyed seeing the characters from the first two books. (This is a stand alone)

I can’t say enough good things about this book! Every time I feel like she can’t get better, Adriana’s male leads prove me wrong. Her writing makes you fall in love with her characters, flaws and all!

Penn Etling, He’s the complete package, Confident, Charming, Cocky. Not only does he talk the talk, he walks the walk, and he always delivers!! Except for one thing, no commitments, no relationships, and definitely no dating, one night stands are what works for him. He gets what and who he wants, when he wants.

Omg i was hooked right from the word go!I knew i would be, its Penn Etling, a man with so many layers you want nothing more than to peel him open.
When Avery Perry turns up in town, Penn has a new fixation, but she seems to be impervious to his charm. Avery is sassy, sweet and totally loveable. She knows what she wants, she wants it all, someone who loves her for her and the whole package, marriage kids and her own Hea!

Adriana has absolutely out done herself with this book, the chemistry, the connection, the sexual tension leaps of the pages. The growth of this couple is written so perfectly that you fall willingly into their world, share their laughs, their secrets, their hopes, their dreams and their anguish !! Penn totally blew me away, from a man so against all things love to a man who knows he’s met his soulmate. His charm grows and oh my giddy heart, the passion grows from flaming to volcanic!! I definitely needed to keep a fan handy !!Avery has probably become one of my favourite heroines, even fighting her feelings and losing herself to Penn she stays true to herself. The dialogue between these two had me emotionally in tatters yet at the same time sharing their laughs. Quirky little twists, that Adriana lets us know at the beginning only endear this couple to us even more. This author doesn’t just write great romance, she goes beyond that and makes every step feel real and keeps your emotions teetering on the edge. Trust me, Trouble and Penn Etling will forever be etched into your heart !!!

This was another Locke perfect sweet, small town love story with two endearing characters, intense chemistry and a great romance that could be considered a little of a second chance romance.

My oh my dear Penn, you were everything I needed and had hoped for. Your sweet side had me swooning hard and my heart soared when you finally figured out you are meant to love and be loved. Avery was meant to come back into Penn’s life with her confident, don’t settle attitude. Dare I ssay they completed each other with their push and pull.

This was a light hearted story with cute banter and romance for miles.

I love this story .
I must admit that the book was very slow for me at first but it was getting better and better . I love Penn, that strong and at the same time very soft young man, he has a big and loving heart and he deserves all the happiness in the world. Avery is a great girl with a strong personality who will extract all the best qualities from him. They have many things in common and, at the end of, the story they deserve to be loved and happy. I enjoyed in this book, Adriana is a great author and I love her writing style. This book deserves 4 ,5 stars,
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this opportunity

Just wow! I have read just about every book by Adriana so needless to say I’m a big fan. Let me tell you Penn does not disappoint. This is everything I thought it would be and then some. We get the fun loving , no filter penn, with a side of softness and sweet that is sure to make you swoon.

Avery knows what she wants and won’t settle for less than she deserves. Will Penn be the guy she knows he is??

Thank you netgalley and to the amazingly talented Adriana Locke for my ARC

This is the third book in the series but I didn't read the prior 2 books and I didn't have trouble following along at all. The only thing this lack of experience made me do is kind of be sad that I haven't read the last 2 books, which I will be remedying soon :)

Anyway, this book follows Penn, a playboy, and Avery, the daughter of a famous actress. They both have family issues they want to hide and they do have a past, although Penn doesn't remember this. Regardless, there's cute banter (Penn really wants to be with Avery while Avery fights every step of the way). I love the development of friendship, which makes this a slow burn romance, but their friendship is really quite beautiful in that it feels real. It's a sweet book that, though it follows Adriana Locke's usual formula, really shines in that the characters are so lovable.

I look forward to future (and even previous) books in this series. (I even bought the first book in the series, including the audiobook, because I'm enamored with Dogwood Lane)

Thanks, NetGalley, for the opportunity to read an ARC.

This book is why I love Adriana Locke...You fall in love with the town, the people and her characters. I knew Penn’s book would be special because Penn doesn’t see himself the way others do and I knew I’d be rooting for him from page 1 and I was right. I absolutely adore the banter between Penn and Avery. I love the realness of the friendship between Penn and Matt. I can’t wait to catch up with Avery and Penn in the next book of this series.....there will be another book....won’t there??....please!! 5 shooting stars for Trouble!

First time reading this author and horoughly enjoyed this book. Avery decides living in LA is not for her any more so she picks up to a small town in Tennessee where her Aunt lives. She literally falls into the arms of Penn, the guy she had a one night stand with 10 years ago who doesn't remember her.

Penn is the quintessential flirt. He's emotionally stunted as doesn't "do relationships". At least in his head, he thinks he's incapable. Little does he realize his actions indicate he is truly one of the good guys.

There's a ton of witty banter in this book and not only between Penn and Avery.

"I mock up another nail. Before I swing the hammer, I ensure my weight is evenly distriubted and the bracket is poised exactly where I think it might work. Now that I have an audience, I can't fail.
'You know, if you move that about two inches to the left, there's probably a stud,' he says. 'I mean, there's one behind you, too, but you probably aren't looking to nail the one with the great abs. Or are you?'"

Or this passage between Penn and his friend Matt:
"She wants me," I say.
"Eh, I think maybe she doesn't, actually."
"Yes. She does. I can tell. She's just fucking with me, that's all. Making me work for it".
Making me woo her.
I take off my hat and scratch the top of my head. I did woo her. I'm sure of it. But maybe I need to woo her harder-and not the way that sounds when I say it in my head. Sadly.

I really liked that Avery knew what she wanted and didn't want to compromise that. She wasn't afraid to take a chance on Penn. Penn had to work through his own crap.

Relatively low angst for the couple. When they did hit their rocky times, it was very well written (yes, admittedly, I did get a bit teary eyed).

Will definitely pick up the other books in this series.

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Trouble by Adriana Locke is sassy, smart and fun. It has memorable and sweet characters that you will not forget

Avery has moved from Los Angeles to a small town, where she once had a one-night stand with a kind stranger, in hopes of forging her own life away from her demanding parents. She wishes nothing but to be loved and accepted for who she is and not for what connections she can give.

Penn is known as a playboy. He is even quoted as saying he is allergic to monogamy.

When they meet, Avery recognizes Penn right away but realizes he does not recognize her. She is embarrassed and saddened to realize that he does not remember her.

But, that doesn’t stop Penn. He is full speed ahead. He wants Avery. Unlike every other woman, this time it’s different. This time he will need to overcome his fear of monogamy if he wishes to win the girl.

Will Avery tell Penn who she is? Can Penn ever want something more that just a one-night stand?

Penn is charming and sweet. He is so endearing. He had me smirking and laughing throughout the book.

The flirtatious banter between Avery and Penn will make you smirk and your heart swoon. Throughout the banter, the sparks fly.

Her aunt Harper is cool and down to earth.

Avery and Penn's honesty towards each other from the get-go is refreshing. There is no misunderstanding what each of them wants from life and each other. It’s how to get what they want from each other while fulfilling what they need that causes a problem.

The story flowed so well and is completely engaging.

Definitely one-click material!

I received an ARC via NetGalley of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

My favorite of this series, and possibly my favorite character from this author. I have been wanting to read Penn's story since he was first introduced. There was something so endearing about this character. Even in all his goofiness and almost manchild ways, there was just "something" that drew me to his character. I knew that there was more than meets the eye when it came to him and I was right. Sure he still was charming and flirted or joked a lot, but it became more apparent with this story that inside there was something a little broken. If I could hug a fictional grandpa for keeping a part of him intact I would.

Initially, I thought the heroine would be someone else. However, after reading this book, I have to say that the author couldn't have picked a better person for Penn because Avery was exactly what he needed. Hell, Penn was exactly what she needed too.

This series is rapidly becoming one of my favorites from this author which says something because I LOVE the Gibson boys. I cannot wait to see what comes next in this series. I just know that it will be amazing because this author doesn't seem to know how to do anything less than perfect.
