Funny, practical and interesting, It's a good book which gives a biology lesson and to be honest is common sense at times. Good practical techniques.
It's a good, informative book mixing common sense with biology and some practical techniques.
Thanks to the publisher for the ARC.
On choosing this book I though it was a story and not a factual piece. Although I am not 50 or over, I found it informative.
Great sex starts at 50 is a book mainly aimed at women. It's packed with common sense advice and guidance presented in an approachable way. It's an interesting read and approached in a down to earth way with insights and stories from ladies in each chapter..
It's a book that can doesn't need to be read as some chapters may not apply to you,
I received this book from Netgalley in return for a honest review.
This book is packed full with common sense advice and guidance presented in an approachable way. Its interesting to read and Tracey approaches her subject in a down to earth way. Fascinating and educational without being clinical or stuffy. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this story. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
As a 54 yr old male, I have to admit that I read this with an extreme amount of trepidation as I have never read a sex manual at all before. Tracey Cox is funny and engaging but also not shy to tell you how things are when you're looking at a sex life beyond your 50th yr and onwards. Learnt a hell of a lot from this book, and therefore heartily recommend it to anyone over 50 on the slight proviso that it is aimed primarily at women rather than men but gives tips and advice aimed at both sexes.
Thanks to Netgalley for the chance to review this
Great sex starts at 50 is a fun book, written in a way you can imagine your best mate talking to you, there is no long winded chapters or scientific explanations, boring us to tears, this is just Tracey Cox writing as though she is chatting to you, giving advice on lots of age related issues that most of us might be encountering but are too reluctant or embarrassed to mention, especially to our partners, she covers all topics from age related dryness and pain with the menopause, erection issues and how sex toys can spice up the bed room and how to survive in a sexless relationship, she is never preachy and she is often expletive but she is great just focusing on how to have a fun time with one another in what ever works for you.
As I rapidly approach the big 5-0 I am increasingly conscious of my changing body. This book has put me at so much ease about the changes as well as made me aware of the choices I can make rather than just sitting back and accepting has been a revelation. Written in a friendly but well informed style this books like the friendly chats had over a coffee where tales are swapped and life experiences passed on to the next generation.
So really, if you’re approaching , at or past that certain age do yourself a favour and pick up this book. Single or settled long term or tarting again it’s all covered. Time to live and enjoy our third age.

You’re probably interested in this book because you’re over 50 and grappling with issues such as maintaining sexual interest in a long-term relationship, post-menopause issues, a sexual drought...the list goes on.
Cox has a supremely reassuring and candid writing style and she makes you feel that you’re definitely not alone and that she has your back.
She has loads of practical tips and detailed advice to get things moving, and she also addresses areas such as erectile dysfunction, sex after surgery and when you’ve got aches and pains, right through to sex for over 50s singles and after one of you has an affair.
I’d really recommend this book because of her no nonsense approach and great advice. Also because she is so accepting, wherever you are in your sexual journey and wherever you choose to be (one strong message is that it’s fine to slow down or give up sex altogether: just make sure you’re communicating so you’re not making assumptions about what the other person wants).
I’d particularly pick up menopausal issues and practical solutions as a strong area too.
Thoroughly recommended.
Funny frank down to earth book!
My husband and I devoured this book, informative and fun and very relatable! Lots of good advice and particulately good case studies covering most issues. Lighthearted but with a good sprinkling of facts and statistics! I would encourage any of my 59 ish friends to read this!
Thank you net galley for this early read!
