'Snow White and the seven robots' is a children's book retelling of the original fairy tale, but with an added twist!
----------
I really enjoyed reading this book with my younger sister and I loved the idea of Snow White living in space/another planet.
The drawings were so cute, and they did a great job of depicting the story-line. I would have loved for the book to be a little bit longer! (but I do realise that this is a children's book)
Overall, it was a short and fun read and i'll definitely be recommending it to other children :)
Rating: 4/5
I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
This is a fun retelling about Snow white that I adored reading! I thought the modern twists such as 'spacebook' were fantastic and this book made me fall in love with the snow white story all over again. I cant wait to read this to my little one she will love it!
Think Snow White but in galactic terms. The Evil Queen asks her viewscreen who is doing best of all and when it continually answers Snow White, the Queen decides to send her into space.
Snow White and her step mother are both extremely clever when it comes to machines and building things. The Queen builds evil robots and Snow White is kinder, building things to help people.
When Snow crash lands on a strange planet, she meets aliens who are starving and wish to eat her. Due to the Queen's greed, she has taken the water from this planet. Snow immediately sets to work to help them.
However, as in the original story, the Queen finds out that Snow White is still better than she is. So she creates more evil robots to destroy Snow White. When Snow takes a bite from an apple, a poisoned dart shoots out from the evil robot making her fall asleep.
Instead of true love's kiss waking her, it is someone who can see the dart in Snow's heart and remove it.
In a funny twist of events, the Queen is put to sleep for a thousand years.
A great book to challenge the original fairytale and though it follows a similar pattern, it is funny and has more girl power and STEM.
Fun robotic version of Snow White where she saves herself in a way. Love me the box robot without a brain :) Perfect addition to the other twisted fairy tale versions!
