I never got a review copy of this book since I wasn't approved, so I don't understand why it's on my list.

Not for me. Couldn't get into this book at all. Writing was clunky.

I read Shades of London by Maureen Johnson a number of years ago but I can still recall how pleasantly surprised I was by this story that was so rich in mystery and suspense. An atmospheric read, the story instantly caught my attention by the inclusion of a Jack the Ripper story weaved with the paranormal. The writing and the story was vivid and tension filled and the characters interesting and complex. A great read.
