OMG, I love it so far!
I cannot wait to read the full book. I get so many nerdy, queer rom-com vibes from this and I am so excited to be swept away in one of Laura Stevens stories again! So far it seems (not unexpectedly) clever and humorous, I already love our main character Caro and I love the, already sex-positive dialogue the book has!

My own fault for not noticing at the start, but I came to an abrupt halt and realised it was the end of the first chapter - and the end of the excerpt! Intriguing start, I'll be borrowing it from the library as it looks like some much needed humour!

I loved this sampler!
So far it’s really easy reading and I’m already enthralled. I need to know where it’ll go from here!!!

A really cute and fun story. I really liked the main character and the love triangle going on. I can't wait to tell everyone to read it!

Oh, Laura Steven, how I missed your uncanny ability to make me laugh within seconds of opening a book of yours. Steven just has this ability to write the exact perfect words for me to enjoy her story, laugh but also relate to the characters - she's the full package, basically.
Though this was only a sampler, I cannot wait for my finished copy to arrive this week and dive deeper into this laugh-out-loud, pee-your-pants kind of funny story with a lot of heart.

A sincere thank you to the publisher, author and Netgalley for providing me an ebook copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. I enjoyed this story very much and felt like I knew each character personally due to the description of them. I enjoyed the storyline. This is not my usual genre but in this instance I am extremely pleased and grateful for opening up my mind to something totally different. Thanks again.

This was only a sampler but it had me laughing out loud! I was immediately sucked in and reminded of Lauren’s talent. She is such a funny writer and I need the rest of the story now!!

Some interesting and quirky characters but plot premise veers into the wholly ridiculous/unbelievable although it does set in motion events that take the story in a whole different direction. Suspend disbelief and it's a enjoyable enough read.

I've loved every Laura Steven book and this one seems no different! I love the writing style, and I'm so incredibly desperate for the rest of the book!

Very promising from the chapter sampler here (I actually downloaded thinking it was the whole book) I read the whole thing with an enormous smile on my face. If this chapter is any indication, this book must be hilarious.
Adorable characters, not easy to choose your favorite from just this chapter and the lead is quite likeable. Will read when I get the chance.

I've had the pleasure of reading Laura Steven before and I thoroughly enjoyed her previous novels. She did not disappoint with this sampler and I look forward to reading the full novel when it's released. The main character feels real, and I found the main character relatable. I also really liked that the dog was called Sirius, nostalgia is real.

Really not sure how I feel about this from that first chapter... think i'll wait till it's released and what reviews say before I decide to get it or not

I haven't read Laura Steven before, but I definitely will look for her other YA titles now. The main character feels very real. I don't know about you, but when I was in school I constantly felt overlooked and ignored in favour of other people. The only difference is it didn't really bother me; I'm such an introvert, I actually preferred it, usually. But I do understand and have felt that desperate 'I'm here, I'm here, pay attention to me!' feeling.

I loved that a lot of the reason her life started getting better was because she gained confidence. Walked tall, started speaking up...it's a great lesson. Much better than the first lesson. Kids, Don't Buy Drugs On The Internet. And the link to consent was very clever. Like Caro, I hadn't considered it until she thought of it, quite late in the novel.

I liked her parents, but I would die of embarrassment at Vati's first joke. I mean, they're funny on the page, but in real life? Not a chance. Dad felt very robotic until very late in the novel, but it's understandable when you find out a couple of things about him. I just kept thinking of Kevin and Captain Holt from Brooklyn 99...although maybe Modern Family is a better analogy? Either way, they worked really well together.

I'd like to see if Caro and a character I won't name for spoilers stay friends. Or...rebecome friends, I suppose. I hope Laura comes back to these characters, but I'll be busy catching up on her backlist for now!

Wasn’t aware beforehand this is a sampler so disappointed there! I adore Laura’s other books though this excerpt comes across as a bit ridiculous so I’m unsure whether I’ll jump to purchase The Love Hypothesis right away.

I thought this was the full copy as I don't usually read samplers, however this was good I want to read more!

I didn't realise this was just an excerpt so I was dismayed when I didn't get a whole chapter. Anyway, it was funny, unique and I'd definitely like to read more.

I feel really blindsided by this one. I had downloaded this with the thought that it was the full e-ARC of The Love Hypothesis, only to find out that it's merely a short sampler. A sampler that tells very little of the story, if I'm being honest. The worst part is that it was never indicated on the page that this was a sampler(!!!). False advertising at its finest.

Anyway, I truly do not understand what I'm supposed to be reviewing here because the sampler was a glimpse too brief to make a proper impression. In the measly slice of the book that I was allowed to read, I will say that I am still very much looking forward to reading the FULL story of The Love Hypothesis. I had really loved Laura's debut novel, and it's clear to me that her writing style is just as chaotic and entertaining in this one. But that's really all I can say because - and I cannot stress this enough - the sampler gave me very minimal material to review. And if I sound salty, it's because I REALLY AM. The least y'all could have done was explicitly indicate in the description that this was a sampler.

Despite liking the sampler's content, I will still give one star just to emphasize how stupid and pointless uploading this book's sampler is. Seriously, it's not like I can post a review of the sampler on Goodreads. Are y'all okay??????????????????????????

Oh my days, this sampler has made me even MORE excited for this book. I could have screamed when my Kindle said it was the end, I wanted another chapter! Roll on March!

(Although on a negative note, I do have to agree with another reviewer that the idea of adult men having a boner over a teenage girl in public is soooo gross. Ugh.)

Despite being a short excerpt, this first taste of The Love Hypothesis is amusing and enticing. Caro is a highly intelligent girl with love and self-esteem problems. She feels unattractive and invisible, Her unrequited crush isn't aware of her existence. Desperation takes over, then, and she decides to buy pheromone-boosting pills off the internet and take a double-dose, but... nothing happens, or so she thinks...

I'm definitely curious to know how it goes on!
