A lovely box set of delightful cosy tales. Witty, and full of delightful character, this was a fabulous introduction to this authors work. Thoroughly enjoyable.

I love paranormal mysteries, as long as they don’t resort to the ghost or vision giving all the clues. Never fear- these are great! Cute characters, Wonderfully developed locale, and a solid mystery make this a must read. I loved it!

This deluxe edition includes the first 3 books. I’ve just finished reading the first book in the series and I wanted to give an update on my review so far! This was such a fun paranormal mystery read! I enjoyed the witty dialogue and humor, I found the storyline to be fast-paced as well. This was just an absolute joy to read. I’ll write a more detailed review once I finish the other two books.

Verity Long, Frankie the gangster ghost and Lucy the adorable Lucy the skunk make one of the most entertaining sleuthing teams I've read! Verity has troubles - in the first book, she's on the hook for a high society wedding (hers), is desperately trying to raise money by selling every item in her family's home. One item she doesn't sell and so begins her adventures in the other books!

I enjoyed the books and loved the characters! The mystery kept me guessing, laughing and wanting to read more!

I received an ARC from NetGalley. The opinions expressed are my own.

These books were so much fun! Ghosts, mystery, humor, and romance... The characters are quirky and fun. I highly recommend this series.
Many thanks to Author Collective 20 and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I’d forgotten how wonderful this story was! I’d read Southern Spirits just about four years ago and loved it and can’t figure out why I didn’t see when the other books had come out. This is a box set contains the first three stories in the series, plus some never before seen content like older covers, deleted scenes, and sneak peeks at the entire series and how it came about.
I definitely recommend this entire series if you’re a fan of cozy mysteries, spirits, cute pets, and slow burn romance.
Ms. Fox has done an outstanding job not only with the writing and characters, but the setting. It’s so beautifully described that I can actually picture myself walking in the town of Sugarland and seeing things like the town library with the cannonball in the wall, the resale shop where Verity helped a ghost find his lost love, and her ex’s house up on the hill looking down on everyone.

**I received an ARC of this story from NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review. After receiving this ARC from NetGalley, I purchased a copy from Amazon.

At the beginning, the story reminded me a little of Casey Daniels' Pepper Martin Series. But Varity's ghost investigations pretty quickly developed a great charm of their own. I think it's so cute that her pet Lucy is a skunk. Also the plot part with her fraudulent ex, the rumors / accusations from him and his influential mother, which is why she is now hated by the whole village. I also liked the romantic entanglements with her ex-fiance's brother, who is one of the few who knows her secret and often needs her help privately or in police investigations. The characters are all very lovingly worked out, the stories varied and the plot has so much humor and great ideas that the time flies by. Wonderfully light and at the same time very exciting. Entertainment that brings a lot of fun !!

This book was a real treat for me. I've read other books in the series, but these go into detail about the beginnings.

In the first book Verity has just dumped her fiance and sued for the cost of the massive wedding. She's able to hang on to her ancestral home (barely) but sold almost everything that was in it. One thing that didn't sell was a vase. Verity dumps the 'dirt' in the vase into her rose garden. Unfortunately, the 'dirt' was Frankie's ashes. The ghost of Frankie is now trapped on her property. The adventures of Verity and Frankie (who was a gangster in life) begin.

These books are so fun to read. Every ghost-hunting adventure is unique.

This is an anniversary release of books 1-3 in the series which I have never read. But now I understand why this was such a beloved series. It is great.

I was going to review each book individually but to be honest it is easy to say that while each of these books has their own story they are equally as great. I guess there are 9 books in the series now and I can’t wait to have the time to catch up with all of them.

If you are a fan of paranormal with a sense of humor then this is most certainly the series for you.

Disclaimer:
I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a great cozy mystery set it was fast paced, funny, and full of southern charm. The MC Verity is a southern belle down on her luck who just so happens to have a ghost named Frankie a German 1920’s gangster who Verity accidentally tied to an urn she has in her possession. Together they become a crime fighting due as they also investigate ways to release Frankie's bound spirit.

The world building and characters are very well done and the humorous dialogue will keep you entertained.

Angie Fox’s books are always well written and laugh out loud funny! I’ve read a few, so being able to get them in a set and read all of these was fantastic! Verity, Frankie, and the whole gang are so much fun! I look forward to reading more from this author.

I loved these stories! I have actually had book 1 (Southern Spirits) on my Kindle for awhile, but just hadn't gotten around to reading it. This special edition bundle lured me in, though, and I am glad it did. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series and revisiting Verity, her pet skunk Lucy, her ghost friend Frankie and the rest of her gang of friends, both living and dead.

This was my first book read by Angie Fox. Other authors I like have recommended her on their FB pages, so I decided to try. I'm so glad I did! I am hooked on this series! this deluxe box set is a great way to get introduced to her Southern Spirits series, about Verity and her resident ghost, Frankie, the 1920's gangster relative of her ex-fiance. I gobbled these 3 stories up. They are fun, fast pasted, engaging. I couldn't put them down. Now my TBR list has to wait until I read the rest in the series! enjoy!

The Southern Ghost Hunter series by Angie Fox is a fantastic cosy mystery series featuring Verity Long, an intrepid southern belle down on her luck and Frankie the German, the ghost of a 1920’s gangster who Verity has inadvertently tied to an urn she has in her possession. Together they make a reluctant ghost hunting duo albeit mainly down to her prospective boyfriend and town black sheep, Sheriff Ellis Wydell, requesting her help in interviewing any spirits that are hanging around his crime scenes. When they aren’t playing ghostbusters Frankie and Verity are usually trying to find a way of releasing Frankie’s trapped spirit.

These books are filled with wonderfully colourful characters with lots of witty and humorous dialogue. The mystery element is just enough to grab your attention without being overly gruesome and spoiling the whole fun vibe of the books. Throw in a side of romance with the whole “are they/aren’t they” scenario, this series covers everything. It’s definitely one I hope continues for a long time

Southern Spirits is the first book in the Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries by Angie Fox. It features Verity Long, a skunk owning graphic designer who is now considered an outcast in home town after she left the favourite son of the town’s matriarch standing at the altar after she found out he was cheating on her. Now she has days to find $20,000 or lose her family home. Her life goes from bad to worse when she accidentally traps the spirit of Frankie the German, a gangster from the 1920’s on her property. What follows is an amusing tale filled with humorous dialogue and a mystery featuring poltergeists, ghosts and murder with an underlying hint of forbidden romance as Verity tries to raise the money to save her home

This was the first book from Angie Fox that I have read but it certainly won’t be the last. The concept of a ghost as a partner is a novel idea and I’m interested in seeing how the relationship develops not only between Verity and Frankie but between Verity and Ellis as well especially once his mother finds out – she just might give the poltergeist a run for her money.

A Ghostly Gift is a novella in the Southern Ghost Hunter mysteries. Verity Long is a reluctant ghost hunter but when a friend of her sister’s offers her free furniture as a fee for solving the little ‘haunting’ problem in her shop, considering all she has is a futon to her name what else is a girl going to say but yes.

There really isn’t much of mystery to this book. It’s more a sad, sweet story of true love spanning 70 years but ultimately with a happy ending that left me with a small lump in my throat. A fantastic addition to the series.

In The Skeleton in the Closet, Verity and her sidekick Frankie the German are once again reluctantly drawn into helping her “is he/isn’t he boyfriend” Sheriff Ellis Wydell solve another murder with the aid of Sugarland’s spirit world. An added incentive this time is the involvement of her sister Melody as a prime suspect. What follows is the exposure of a centuries old cover up which has the added bonus of humiliating her arch enemy as Verity makes friends with the ghosts of some civil war soldiers as well as playing matchmaker for them.

This is a fantastic addition to the Southern Ghost Hunter mysteries. The humorous dialogue between Verity and Frankie makes me smile as I read it and the plot line involving murder and long hidden secrets definitely kept me guessing . Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

5 stars for this, it was brilliant I have to admit I wouldn't last five minutes in Sugarland. I wouldn't mind going for a visit though. This is the first time I've read any of the Southern Spirits books but it won't be the last. A great read. Recommended.

In my opinion, everyone should read a fun cozy mystery once in a while! I sure do read one a few times a year when I feel low or need a gap from the usual serious stuff... they get me to a good place with their coziness, humour and the cutesy pets... if you’re looking for such fun, quirky, sassy female lead with a pinch of funny paranormal mystery, look no more!!
Southern Spirits is a combination of more than everything mentioned above. Its like a feel good read, with fun ghosts and mysteries!
Verity can see ghosts and along with her pet Lucy - the skunk (yess, you read that right, a skunk as a pet!!! - more a reason to read cozy mysteries) forms a plan to send them where they actually belong. Every hero needs a sidekick (or a hero-support like they say in Sky High 😅😉). Verity has an actual ghost as a heroine-support that helps with her mission!! This book is a bundle of lighthearted cozy merriment!!
Thanks to Netgalley, Angie Fox and Moose Island books for the ARC bundle. This review is my own and is not influenced in any way.
