I love this series, and I'm so excited that this boxed set is available for the first three books. The stories are fun. The stories revolved around Verity Long. She inherits a family home, but runs into trouble right away. Her former fiancée's mother has taken legal action against Verity for cancelling her wedding to her son. Verity is forced to sell many family belongings from the home to pay the court costs and the wedding vendors.

Verity inadvertently dumps an urn of ashes into her rosebushes, which in turn results in her being haunted by Frankie, a former gangster from the 1920's. Frankie can help Verity connect with the spirit world and becomes her somewhat unwilling sidekick.

These three stories are funny, laugh out loud funny. I really love the hijinks in the books and I really love the whole series. Many times, Verity is having to solve past issues, to help spirits causing problems move on. There is mystery, romance, adventure and humor in every story. I would highly recommend this boxed set and the entire series to anyone who enjoys a funny cozy mystery series.

Thanks to #NetGalley and the publishers for a copy of this set in exchange for my honest opinion. Bonus - 50 extra pages not previously in the other editions!!

This is a fun series. A cozy paranormal book set that was quirky and creative.
Verity, who can see ghosts and is tasked with sending them to where they belong, makes for a very interesting fun character. The characters are filled with spunk (even the skunk!) and the mysteries are smooth reads.

This was my introduction to this author and I am so happy to have had the opportunity to read this boxed set from NetGalley! The stories are unique and the characters are well developed. Verity is a wonderful mixture of kind, sweet and sassy! Her interactions with the ghosts added a unique twist to solving the book’s mysteries. Lucy, the skunk, as a pet just made my smile! I highly recommend picking up this series!

I really loved this series. I am a huge fan of cozy paranormal books and this was top notch.
It is really nice to get all three books in one set. I love Verity, who can see ghosts and is tasked with sending them to where they belong. Her sidekick is an actual ghost.
The characters are filled with charm and the mysteries are great.
Verity is a well written character and the mysteries have well developed plots.

I would give these 3.5 stars if that was a possibility.
I have never read any of the Southern Spirits mysteries but I'm glad I was given this box set from Netgalley for my honest review.

These are cute and entertaining cozy mysteries that are fun to read. Verity is an interesting character and her having a pet skunk is a wonderful quirky addition. The addition of the ghosts and how she is able to see them is an interesting idea I haven't come across before. The backstory of everyone is nicely explained so you aren't wondering who someone is until book 3 either.

The extras included in the box set are a nice addition that gives you a look at how the author can change things up when something isn't fitting into the story correctly.

I will be picking up the rest of the books in the series one at a time as I need something fun and lighthearted to read.

I had no idea what to expect and I ended up really enjoying these stories! Like, I read all three in a single 24-hour span. These were really, really fun to read.

Also, pet skunk. Why isn't this a thing?! Lucy (the skunk) seems about the sweetest thing there ever was, and frankly we should all be so lucky to receive skunk cuddles, the way Angie Fox describes them. Bless.

Moreover, one of the main characters in this series (so far, anyway) and the sidekick-figure to the main character, Verity, is a bona fide former gangster. I say former, because Frankie is a full-on ghost with a bullet hole between his eyes. How he comes into Verity's life, well... I can't give everything away. That really is worth reading for yourself, and hopefully you'll cringe-giggle (cringgle?) the same way I did. It's a supernatural detective-type series, without Verity being an actual detective. She's actually a graphic designer, so make of that what you will.

The stories are set in a small town in the Southern United States, called Sugarland (hahahahahahahahathistownisnotsweethahahahahaha). There is a pretty sweet policeman in the story though, which is perksome. And some of the ghosts are downright gentlemanly - a stately and welcome change in behaviour compared to modern times, can I just say.

Anyway, these are really worth a read, and if you like the sound of my ramblings, then you can get the Kindle collection of the first three books in the series here.

Well worth a read, people. Very enjoyable.

This was a humorous paranormal mystery. The characters were fun and lively. The story was well written with a bit of crazy goings on. Verity can see ghosts and is now expected to send them packing often with some hilarious results. I loved this series.

This is such a great series. The main female character is very relatable and someone you'll really like. She doesn't have much but makes great use of what she has and has a lot of fun. The surrounding characters are great too. No doubt you'll love this box set.

Fabulous series! Not sure how I've missed this for this long but I REALLY loved it. The covers dont catch me, I like more realism and it gives the vibe of a "light" read, which while it is, it has surprising depth and fantastic world building as well. LOVED IT!

A nice easy read and a good introduction to an American Ghost/detective series. Nothing to tax the mind, but it does exactly what the author sets out to do. Good stories with good characters I'm going to look forward to getting to know better.

Thanks for the ARC.

SOUTHERN SPIRITS is the first in a new series by Angie Fox. Though each story will stand alone, it is best that they are read in the order of release and you will want to read them all.

‘Loved’ does not begin to describe my feelings for this story. It had me holding my breath in more ways than one and so many times it’s a wonder I don’t need resuscitation!

There is a unique craziness that must be experienced and that is my recommendation. Pick up this book and read it. Get to know Verity, Ellis, Frankie the mobster ghost, and Lucy the lovable skunk.

A GHOSTLY GIFT is the second book in the Southern Ghost Hunter series.

This one is a short story that involves a WWII soldier ghost who is determined that his true love receive the gift he meant for her.

I love the dedication shown by the soldiers, by the townspeople towards those soldiers (the bottlecaps left in the bar), by the sweethearts left behind, and by the author in this display of her appreciation for our military and their families.

THE SKELETON IN THE CLOSET is the third book in the Southern Ghost Hunter series.
Verity has been kicked down and then kicked some more by the town matriarch. In this story, Verity has a lot of leads that keep circling back to the wicked witch of town, errr Mrs. Wydell, but is that possible? Still there are a lot of secrets that do come out and this town will never be the same.

These three stories give a solid foundation of the who’s-who in Sugarland, TN. They also establish the fun, quirky nature of Verity and the romance that is blooming between her and Deputy Sheriff Ellis Wydell.

Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via NetGalley, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Southern Ghost Hunter series is whimsical, funny, and even dangerous at times and it has my recommendation to anyone that wishes for a fun, lighthearted cozy mystery series to read.

Angie Fox does it again with a unique twist on a cozy mystery series. Southern Ghost Hunters characters Verity and Frankie are funny and will keep you on the edge of your seat until the last page, I kept coming back for more until I was done with all three books.

I fell in love with Verity before the second chapter even started, she broke, and in need of money to save her family home, which by the way is in very much need of some TLC so you think she has enough on her plate all to find she trapped a ghost on her property. These two become a dramatic crime-fighting duo, which will take on any human or ghostly ghost.

Thank you Netgalley and publishing moose island books. I have enjoyed this anniversary edition and getting to read this author

I love Verity - she is the funniest heroine I’ve read. She makes the stories so enjoyable and I love how caring she is - always wanting to see the best in people especially the ghost. I love Ellis and how he stands by her and of course how can you not love Frankie our ghost

This is a series that is a joy to read and they are not too long. Perfect for binge reading and when you want something light to read.

Southern Spirits (book 1) by Angie Fox is full of southern charm. The humor and mystery mix works well for this paranormal spin. A young, gorgeous southern lady, Verity, becomes a ghost hunter sleuth. Her fiancé cheated on her and she dumped him. The whole town hates her thinking she's a gold digger. But that is far from the truth. Verity has to deal with that plus, the loss of all her stuff and a stupid bill from her ex. She may end up losing her grandmother's home. A home that now, has a 1920 gangster ghost attached to it. Verity and the ghost become partners. I enjoyed the banter between her and the police officer, her ex's brother. Hilarious and sweet, this read is worth every page!

A Ghostly Gift (book 2) by Angie Fox is once again just as charming as the first book. I love Frankie, the 1920's gangster ghost. Verity has to carry his urn whenever they go places away from her grandmother's home. It's both frustrating and funny. Verity and Frankie are stuck with each other no matter what. Also, Verity doesn't want everyone to know about her new ability. However, her new ability comes in handy with her friend's shop. Once more, the bubbling banter and romantic interest between Verity and her ex's brother continues. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this ghost cozy mystery.

The Skeleton in the Closet (book 3) by Angie Fox is the third and last book in this boxed set. As always, humor, romance, and mystery are displayed among the pages. The plot was action-packed. Verity, the heroine, has a way of getting into sticky ghost murder situations. The cases Verity gets herself into are deadly. Both from the spiritual and human worlds. In this series, there always both a ghost and human behind every crime committed. I cannot get enough of this series. Plus, Verity has a pet skunk!

I just love this series! It has all the ingredients for a light, tongue-in-cheek paranormal mystery series all served up with just the right amount of romance thrown in! Verity is something of the-girl-next-door with a ghostly sidekick by the name of Frankie and the rather convoluted romance interest, Ellis, who is not only a deputy sheriff but also happens to be the brother of Vicky's former fiance! The three books in this boxed set will be sure to have you chuckling out loud as you go along with Verity and help her solve these ghostly mysteries (that she can't seem to keep from stumbling across) with the assistance of Frankie and the oh-so-handsome Deputy Ellis! Absolutely Delightful!!
