This is great for reinforcing manners with pupils. The familiar tale of Little Red Riding Hood is adapted to introduce an unlikeable character called Little Rude Riding Hood who has no concept of the importance of manners. Not only is this a great tool to reinforce the importance of manners but a good writing stimulus for older children when studying rewriting/twisting fairy tales for a different purpose. Great fun!

What a fun take on red riding hood. I love mixed up fairy tales. Great pictures. I’m sure kids will love it.

This was a cute little twist on Little Red Riding Hood where manners mean everything. This is a great book that teaches kids that being nice and saying "please" and "thank you" get you farther in life than being rude.

I really like the different twist that was put on this traditional tale.

It was well written, funny, made me giggle and I felt so sorry for the wolf!

I have two more books to read in the series and can't wait!

This book came at the perfect time for Summer Reading! Little Rude Riding Hood is not like the normal Little Red Riding Hood, this one is RUDE! She doesn't know any manners, until she meets a friendly wolf. A FRIENDLY WOLF?? This twisted fairy tale was hilarious, especially the characters!

A book I wanted to like more than I actually did. I loved the concept and enjoyed some parts of it but the overall book did not hold my interest as much and I ended up skimming through this ..

Little Rude is exactly like her name. When she bumps in to people, she doesn't apologize when she bumps in to people or crowd to the front of lines. When her grandmother sends her a new red cloak, Little Rude refuses to write a thank you note, so her parents decide to send her off to tell her grandmother in person. Along the way she encounters things that make her rethink her ways.

I liked this variant of the story. The child is abominable, and the lesson is clear. It's funny and pointed. I also liked the art in the book as well. It was a fun read.

I read this and hated every minute of it. I don't think the concept was there and it didn't hold my attention or my girls. I could see the potential and what they were trying to accomplish but it missed the mark for me. Real shame

Twisted Fairy Tales is a fun series, I've really been enjoying them! In this one, Little Rude Riding Hood is rude to everyone, won't help out at her Granny's birthday party, and finally annoys everyone so much that the Wolf gobbles her up to make her stop being so rude. When Granny comes home, he spits Little Red back up again, and she manages to learn her lesson finally (being in a wolf's belly that smells like old beans will do that). Granny is so happy, she changes her granddaughter's name to Little Red Riding Hood. The story is cute and fun, and sneaks a lesson in about being polite!

I love fractured fairy tales so wanted to read this as soon as I spotted it. Unfortunately, the formatting on my e-reader made it difficult to read but I still really enjoyed it. Perfect for any children who are familiar with the original story and would enjoy an alternative version! I will be adding this to my classroom collection of fractured fairy tales.

this was such a cute story, I love twisted fairy tales and this series didn't disappoint. The art is amazing and I really enjoyed reading this and the rest of the series.

A great book for children. Though Little Rude is not a particularly nice person, it would not put anyone off. It is illustrated in colour and is a good book for youngsters particularly as you teach them about the value of manners. All works out in the end and they all live happily ever after. It is a good read that can be repeated year after year as a reminder of manners.

Little Red as you've never seen her before. In this rewrite of the familiar tale, Little Red has had a bit of a personality transplant! Instead of the kind, thoughtful girl we know, LIttle Red is incredibly rude. As she heads to Grandma's she upsets everyone along the way. And on arrival, at the familiar cottage, noone wants her at the planned party. Little Red soon learns the error of her ways and tries to make up for all she has done wrong.

This was a fun retelling of the story with a twist. In our school, Little Red retellings are a focus of our curriculum so this would be a fun addition.to our collection to use in encouraging children to write their own stories. The brightly coloured pictures and familiar characters will get children guessing at what might happen next and talking about how the story might end.

The language is accessible to all ages and could encourage children to think about how their actions might affect the emotions of others.

This was a funny retelling of little red riding hood. I thin kids and adults will get a kick out of the story. It has some good life lessons and the pictures are fun.

This is an adorable little chapter book. A great size for a longer bedtime, or maybe split up over 2-3 nights. The premise is of course loosely based on Little Red Riding Hood. Except this Little Red is called Little Rude because she is a selfish, awful little girl. Constantly demanding things, refusing to help others, and never says please or thank you.

The cute illustrations that come along with this book are a great addition. They help break-up the text, add colour, and make this a great starter book for those just beginning to read aloud or independently. With a strong morale at the end, of course, and all the characters you expect from the original fairy tale (the woodcutter is a little forced) this is sure to be a hit with many little ones. And can help enforce the importance of manners; and those magical words 'please', and 'thank you'.

I am sure you realize from the title, Twisted Fairy Tales: Little Rude Riding Hood, is a twist on Little Red Riding Hood. Author Jo Franklin and illustrator Chris Jevons are able to produce a children's book that teaches the necessity of good manners.

It is not a long book. Several reviewers noted the book felt rushed. It did feel the main character, Little Rude Riding Hood, learned her lesson quickly. It is this brevity that allows it to be perfect for storytime in schools.

Little Rude Riding Hood heads to her grandmother's house and is rude to everyone she meets along the way. It is no surprise when she learns her lesson in the end and earns the name Little Red Riding Hood. She learns to say please and thank you and stops being rude. Children will enjoy the illustrations and, hopefully, learn their manners from this story.

Twisted Fairy Tales is a series of children's books published by Arcturus Publishing. Others in the series illustrated by Chris Jevons include Twisted Fairy Tales: Snow White and the Seven Robots and Twisted Fairy Tales: The Three Little Narwhals. This is the only book in the series written by Jo Franklin.

In this book, Little Red Riding Hood is a very rude girl, so she is called Little Rude Riding Hood. Her parents send her to bring her grandmother a present for her birthday, but Little Rude doesn’t want to. Eventually they convince her to go. Along her way to her grandmother’s house, she meets kind creatures, but she is still rude to them.

This story had a great twist on the original tale. Since Little Rude is so rude to her parents and everyone else, it shows kids that she is behaving badly. She behaves in the opposite way from Little Red Riding Hood, who was very kind and trusting. Another twist is that the characters who usually attack the grandmother, like the wolf and the lumberjack, are actually friends with her grandmother.

This is a fun twist on Little Red Riding Hood!

Here we have a very ugly and rude little girl who is mean to everyone. Her parents, her parents friends, and her grandmother. When forced to go to her Grandmothers home for her birthday Little Rude Riding Hood is mean to everyone she meets, from the wolf to the rabbits to the woodsman. Finally she gets her comeuppance and turns over a new leaf by the end of the book. The illustrations are a bit simple, but they go with the story and I liked them a lot.

There are many stories which twist the tale of Little Red Riding Hood. In this version, Little Red is Little Rude - a child with no manners who takes no notice of anyone. She is rude to her parents, to the wolf, to the woodcutter and to the animals who she meets on her way to Grandma's house. As always, there is a moral to the tale...

It was interesting to see Little red as the baddie in this story but I did feel that her redemption was rather rushed. I would have liked to see some of the other characters take her to task for her rudeness. However, as a comparison to other Red Riding Hood stories it would make a useful contrast.
