The guy she’s been crushing on and moves next door would definitely tempt a saint. Playing golf to reach potential clients might be the funniest thing ever! Susan Hatler’s stories have relatable characters that are absolutely delightful.

This was a cute Falling For The Friend’s Older Brother trope that I enjoyed. It was one I was able to read through rather quickly. I enjoyed both main characters. I highly recommend.

This book was cute, but seemed to end abruptly. It was like they just met and suddenly they were in love and everything was perfect. None of the earlier complications mattered anymore.and weren't resolved at all. Characters could have been developed more.

Quirky, fun, quick read for the romcom book lover.

I absolutely loved the books theme of loving yourself, embracing the skin your in and then finding someone who feels that same way. Being perfect on paper isn't where happily ever after is found.

Susan Halter is quickly becoming one of my favorite contemporary romance authors. She doesnt shy away from the messy pieces of life. It isn't always a straight line to your happy ending. People have insecurities and fears and get disappointed. This book satisfies all those real emotions and because of that, I recommend this book to any romcom enthusiast.

This was a cute, quick read. I enjoy Ms. Hatler's books, they provide a lighthearted break. I enjoy her characters and storylines. Hannah and Blake have known each other a long time, since Hannah is best friends with Blakes little sister. She's always had a crush on him, but felt he was off-limits. While I did enjoy the story, it felt a little rushed to me and Hannah was a bit overly dramatic, quick to jump to the worst-case scenario. Hannah and Blake are cute together though and I enjoyed reading their story.

Gave three stars because I think it could have been developed a bit more, not as rushed.

The date next door by Susan Hatler.
Carefree Hannah Griffin’s life is on track: she’s spending time with friends and working to win over her new boss at work after a substantial promotion. Soon, however, disaster strikes, when a potential client refuses to answer her calls. Then Hannah’s long-time and unrequited crush, super polished Blake Remington, moves in next door.
Hannah has ignored her feelings for her best friend’s older brother by keeping her distance, but now he’s popping by every day. When Blake reveals he has an extra ticket to a couple’s golf tournament, Hannah discovers her potential client will be there and offers to be Blake’s date. One major problem: Hannah doesn’t know how to golf.
As Blake teaches Hannah to golf, she struggles with feeling out of place in his country club world. Blake’s kindness and flirting help her feel at ease. As Hannah’s feelings grow, her crush on Blake turns into love and she wonders if she and Blake might have a chance—until Blake’s classy ex returns, determined to win him back.
Will the boy Hannah has always loved break her heart, or will Blake realize she’s the one he’s been looking for?
An absolutely brilliant read. I loved the story. Bought tears to my eyes. I loved how Hannah stood up to Cassandra. I really didn't like Cassandra. She was snooty. 5*.Highly recommended.

Short and sweet! Loved the characters and though the storyline was predictable it was worth the read.

I am a huge fan of Susan Hatler because everything I have read by her is so good that I don't want to put it down! This book was no exception. I finished this one in no time. It flowed so well and Mrs. Hatler always makes you feel like you are a part of the story, so I just fly through these.

Hannah is moving in with her best friend from high school, Lucy. Lucy was brought up differently than Hannah in that she had all the name brand clothes where Hannah was a second hand store shopper. That little fact did not keep these two from being best friends though. When Hannah is unpacking, Lucy finds their old prom dresses and insists that they put them on and do their make-up just as they had done it for their Senior prom. When Hannah gives in to Lucy, the fun begins. Lucy lets the time slip away from her and is late for her date that night so she decides to go in her old prom dress and make-up. Before she heads out though, her brother-the one that Hannah has always had a crush on-shows up and is left with Hannah in her old prom dress.

The crazy thing about Blake seeing Hannah in her prom dress is that he almost took her to the prom her Senior year in that same dress. Hannah's ex ended up coming and begging her to go with him so she did, but all the memories rush back for Blake and Hannah. Blake has not seem Hannah in some time and so he stays and helps her finish unpacking that night.

Things progress in their unpacking talk and Hannah somehow invites herself to be Blake's golf partner in his next benefit tournament. The crazy thing is that Hannah has never played golf before so Blake is going to have to give her some lessons beforehand. Well, I think we all see where this is going!! You will have to read the rest of this one to find out how the golf tournament ends up and how things end up for Hannah and Blake. I don't want to ruin it all for you!

Can’t beat a Susan Hatler romance chic lit. Totally fun and enjoyable. Book 3 of the Do-over date series. Can be read as a stand alone, but you will want to read the other books. Fast read.

A few of my Goodread friends read and loved this book so I requested it from NetGalley. What a fun read!! Hannah and Blake have known each other for years, because Hannah and Blake's sister Lucy have been friends since high school. When Hannah rents the extra bedroom from Lucy she has no idea that her secret crush will be living next door!! Hannah and Blake have the cutest meet-again (is that a thing, well it is now) and I can't imagine how Hannah felt, but I know I Would. Have. Died. on the spot. Like the floor couldn't have opened a portal to swallow me fast enough. I hate embarrassing moments and this was a whopper.

I loved Blake and I loved Blake and Hannah together. Who knew learning golf could be so sexy and swoony? I guess if you have someone like Blake teaching you. The mini-golf game was great and I certainly pictured the looks they probably got from the other people at the miniature golf place. Lol.

On the other hand I didn't like Blake's parents at all. They reminded me of the parents of the titled men and young ladies in Regency times--marrying for business and status, and not for love. Who would want their child to marry someone they didn't love?!!! Thankfully Blake fortifies his backbone and respectfully but firmly tells them he and Cassandra are over and have been. His "speech" at the big gala would make any girl swoon. *happy sigh*

This isn't a very long book--around 100 pages, so just a couple of hours of escape to romanceland (another made up word?) with wonderful characters. I'll definite check out more of this "do-over-date-series" and others by this author. This is a clean romance.

Thanks to NetGalley and Hatco Publishing for my copy. All thoughts and opinions expressed in my review are my own.

This is a wonderful book. The reason for a 4 star versus a 5 for me is that the book isn't written in a dual POV format. I would have loved to get Blake's POV. I feel that it would have made for a fantastic book. I do enjoy reading the stories that this author writes. They are witty, funny and full of charm. I can really see the scenes playing out more like a movie.

Hannah had crushed on her BFF's older brother Blake for years. She hasn't seen him in over 5 years but still thinks of him. Unfortunately for her, Blake moves next door and her feelings for him come crashing back. He is from money and she is not. I mean really she doesn't even know how to eat caviar! (Hilariously funny). Just as Hannah feels like she can date him, his ex-girlfriend comes back and throws a wrench into the budding relationship.

This is a sweet, clean romance that anyone would enjoy. I do highly recommend it to anyone. You will enjoy this even you are like me and prefer a dual POV.

Years ago, Hannah almost got a chance to go to prom with her long-held crush, her childhood friend's big brother - then he walked away. Now, he's moved in next door just as she's trying to reinvent herself from doing her own thing to conforming to 'professional' expectations following a promotion at work. But that leaves her uncomfortable in her own skin at the same time as trying to land an important client and dealing with Blake, said long-held crush. Will she succeed in her transformation or embrace who she truly is? And what effect will that have on her success in love and business?

Another good clean read by the author - not my favourite, but still well worth a read if you're looking for a fun, light book for a quick escape. I found it a bit harder than sometimes to relate to Hannah, I think because I'm not really the career-focussed type, but nevertheless I was pleased by the satisfying ending that she found. Recommended.

Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.

So it took me a bit to get into this book and really put myself in with the plot and characters.
Usually if I really get caught up within the first two chapters I won’t put the book down and with this I found I was okay putting it down.

The book is for sure an easy read and very well wrote.

Wonderful job by the author

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Good, quick short book to read.

Blake, (who Hannah has been in love with since her high school prom) moves in the house next door to her and his sister Lucy.
Hannah is still madly in love with him, can she get over her crush or does she get her happy ever after.

Super funny, hilariously cute, short romance! I absolutely loved Hannah’s take charge even when I’m scared attitude and her awful excuses when she’s nervous! She’s got a heart of gold and an amazing BFF to save her when needed! If only her stupid heart could let go of her childhood crush!

Another cute light hearted romance from Susan Hatler.

Hannah runs into her BFFs brother, whom she’s had a crush on forever. Will this finally be the time where the universe aligns for them?

I always enjoy reading a good romance novel.

Received as an ARC from netgalley for my honest review and opinion. Hannah and Blake (her best friends brother and lifelong crush) is a sweet story about a second chance to see what happens now that they are adults and not in high school. After Blake moves in next door to his sister and Hannah's townhouse the sparks they both felt since high school reignite and they finally show and tell each other how they felt back then and how they still feel now. Great read!
